The Cowboy in Yellow Plaid

He was sprawled before me
In a yellow plaid shirt
A quite handsome cowboy
On his back in the dirt

He was part of a team
In the Wild Drag Race
His teammate wore a dress
Without makeup on his face

It's part of our culture
At the Gay Rodeo
To entertain ourselves
Let our troubles go

There were hoots and hollers
From all around
As he in the yellow plaid
Was dragged across the ground

Encouragement's beside me
Were shouted from another
With pride and joy
From the cowboy's mother

He was sprawled before me
In a yellow plaid shirt
A quite handsome cowboy
On his back in the dirt

She was beaming with pride
As he got to his feet
A cowboy in yellow plaid
Was determined to compete

He brushed off his jeans
And his yellow plaid shirt
With fingers that were taped
From a previous hurt

Without scoring points
He was successful and glad
Living life to the fullest
The cowboy in yellow plaid
