Instead of making one list, I made four and made sure never to look back at the rankings in the last list that I made. Sure enough, each list ended up different because I am a total idiot. So I took a weighted average of my four rankings (shown in parenthesis to the right of the name), which determined my final rankings (to the left).

Statistical Blabbering
After
I completed my list of 100… I felt I was done. But then I decided to go back
and do the list again to see how close it would be. I took some time away from
the computer, came back and didn’t look at my first rankings list. Then I did
it all over again, expecting to see a few differences, of course. Little did I
realize how different it would be. Almost everything after 10 was in a
different order. It was then that I realized I was too fickle to even figure
out how to rank the girls I like. Either that or my preferences changed rapidly
throughout the day. Either way, I then made a third and fourth list to see how
they ended up. I took special care with my fourth list to make sure that each
girl I liked more than every girl below her. When comparing my first and final
list of the day, I noticed some girls had significantly changed positions. I
decided to just give up and average the four lists together. Since I spent the
most time on the fourth list, I counted that list’s rankings twice and divided
by 5 instead of 4. Example:
Eliza
Dushku Ranks (note how she inexplicably moved up through the day):
List
1: #23
List2:
#18
List3:
#17
List4: #14 (counts twice)
(23+18+17+14+14)
/ 5 = (86 / 5) = 17.2
So,
on a weighted average, Eliza Dushku was ranked #17.2 on my lists. On my final
list though, she is Ranked #16. This is because there were only 15 other girls
that, on average, ranked higher. A ranking of #16 does not indicate that Elisha
Dusku usually, or ever, was ranked #16 on my several lists. #16 only indicates
that, of all the girls on the list, she on average ranked as the 16th
highest. Girls ranked #1 - #6 never changed positions so their ranking matches
their average ranking. By coincidence, it also works out that #27 (Katherine
Heigl), #31 (Reese Witherspoon), #49 (Anna Paquin), #61 (Estella Warren), #64
(Amy Acker) and #84 (Gweneth Paltrow) have list ranks that match their weighted
average ranking on the 4 other lists.
On
occasions, there are ties in the final rankings. #8 (Ashley Judd) and #9 (Marla
Sokoloff) both average 9.2. On occasions like this, I made a spur of the moment
decision on which I thought at this moment was hotter and ranked that one above
the other. Yet note that #10 (Catherine Bell) and #11 (Alyson Hannigan) stand
at 9.4 and 9.6, respectively. With a mere 0.4 average ranking difference
between #8 and #11, there is essentially a four-way statistical tie for 8th
place. But in the interests of not being one of those gay rankings that has
like four #8s and then skips to #12, I decided that was lame and didn’t do it.
