Pre-Season Fixtures: Division 1, 2, 3 and Junior Opposition
Nairn County have announced their pre-season schedule for July as they gear up for their assault on the Highland League in season 2007-08.
Les Fridge has managed to line up opposition from all three of the Scottish Leagues as well as one game against north junior opponents.
It all gets underway on Tuesday July 10 when First Division side Livingston visit Station Park for the second year in succession. The Lions made the trip north last pre-season but the match was abandoned in the second half because of a thunderstorm. The visitors were 4-0 up at the time. Since then, the club has undergone a change in management with former Hibernian coach Mark Proctor taking up the reins at Almondvale and this will be one of his first games in charge.
Next up is an away trip to Division Three outfit Stenhousemuir on Saturday July 14. The Warriors finished seventh in the league last season and are managed by Campbell Money, a former team-mate of Les Fridge and Scottish Cup winner at St. Mirren. The match will take place at the Larbert-based club's Ochilview ground, scene of their famous 2-0 Scottish Cup victory over Aberdeen in 1995.
Peterhead then make the trip to Station Park on Saturday July 21. The Balmoor outfit are managed by Steve Paterson, a former

manager of Fridge's from their time together at Inverness CT. The Blue Toon finished one place above the relegation play-off zone last season after losing the final of the promotion play-off on penalties to Partick Thistle the year before. The match could see a return to Station Park for former County hero Tony Low, who left the club for Balmoor in January 2006.
The last match scheduled at the moment is against junior outfit Strathspey Thistle at their Seafield Park ground on Saturday July 28. Nairn met them in a friendly three years ago in what was only Les Fridge's second game at the helm and County ran out 5-0 winners thanks to goals from Steven Sanderson (2), John McDonald (2) and Iain Brooks.
Fridge is still hopeful of arranging a match sometime during the mid-week between the Peterhead and Strathspey games.
The manager said: "These are very interesting games to be involved in. We are going to be up against some very good teams and it is great for the players to be up against Scottish League opposition. All in all, it's very good for the club."
