| 23/9/07 Post Match Reaction: Teams Cancelled Each Other Out Nairn County returned to Highland League action yesterday after a week off and earned a point from their home clash with Clachnacuddin. Les Fridge's men now look forward to entering the Scottish Cup at the first round stage next week when they take on Rothes at the Speysiders' MacKessack Park ground. After Saturday's match, Fridge said: "The two sides cancelled each other out quite a lot. I thought it was never a penalty and I don't think the boy was even touched. But justice was done when it was |

| saved. "It was quite a scrappy game. Their goalie had a couple of saves and John had a couple of saves for us and it was the sort of game that the second goal would have won it for either side." He added: "We huffed and puffed and it was a typical derby. They came here wanting to get something on the back off a good result while we had a lay off last Saturday which I don't like because it stops the momentum. But we didn't get beat today so we'll take it." County goalkeeper John Campbell again showed his worth to the cause with a second half penalty save from Blair Lawrie. The former Hibernian custodian has again started the season in fine form after a terrific season last time out. Fridge said: "John has just carried his form on from last season and I'm delighted. He was our player of the year last season and he had a tremendous season. So far, touchwood, he's continuing that this season." | Cup outing for almost 22 years when Dundee were the visitors to Station Park in January 1986. Fridge said: "It's a break from the league for us and it will be a very tough game. We played them a few weeks ago and they are a very physical side this season and have taken in four or five junior players. It will be a physical battle again for us but there are no easy games in this league and that has been proved. I've been saying for the past couple of sason that any team on their day, whether it be home or away, can come and get something out of the game." |
