Post Match Reaction: MacDonald Injury Not Serious
A goal three minutes into the second half was enough for Fraserburgh to take all three points from their clash with Nairn County and it could have been worse for the home side had goalkeeper John Campbell not saved a first half penalty.
A major concern for County boss Les Fridge, apart from the result, was the late injury sustained by defender Martin MacDonald who was carried from the pitch in agony after picking up an ankle injury late on and taken straight to the local hospital in the waiting ambulance. But the manager later revealed
that the former Brora man has not done any long term damage and may be fit enough to make an appearance before the end of the season despite there being only two fixtures remaining.
Speaking about the match, Fridge said: "We dominated the match for long spells. We hit the post and then Billy Gordon pulled off a great save to deny Steven Edwards. We also saw one shot cleared off the line.
"We created a lot of chances but didn't manage to take any this time and Shaun Kerr being missing didn't really help."
On MacDonald's injury the manager said: "Martin's injury is not as bad as first feared and we had made all of our substitutions when it occured. He is away this Saturday anyway so that will give him the chance to rest and get himself fully fit again."
Fridge will have to do without the services of Chris Finnigan again after the former Inverness CT youngster was red carded for the second game in succession.
He said: "As for the sending off of Chris Finnigan, not a lot of people know what it was for. The ref saw something although the

Broch players were not appealing. He is a very committed physical player but on this occasion it has gone against him."
Nairn play their final home game of the season this Saturday when Inverurie Locos are the visitors to Station Park before Les Fridge's side travel to Huntly seven days later to conclude their Highland League campaign.
