| 20/7/07 Peterhead Friendly: Four Back to Boost Numbers Nairn County play their final home friendly of the summer before the action gets underway for real at the end of the month as they take on second division Peterhead at Station Park on Saturday. Steve Paterson's men will play Forres less than 24 hours before facing Nairn as they build up to the start of their Division Two campaign. Nairn boss Les Fridge was far from happy with the way in which his side leaked goals at Stenhousemuir last Saturday and will be looking for an improvement against the Blue Toon. His squad will be boosted by the return of four first team regulars after Iain Brooks, Willie Barron, Neil MacDonald and Duncan Jones all missed last week's trip to Ochilview but are expected to be available for selection on Saturday. |

| Fridge said: "I specifically gave us a hard pre-season schedule. It was the same last year when we played Ross County, Forfar Athletic and Dundee United and I do think we get more out of these sort of games." He added: "Our mistakes are highlighted more when we play these sort of teams which is a good thing. But it will be another hard game and another one that we are looking forward to because it will enable us to get another 90 minutes under our belts." Fridge had nothing else to report on the transfer front other than saying that Nairn St Ninian utility man Glenn Main had trained with the squad this week. He made a 20 minute appearance at Stenhousemuir last week and is in contention for a place in the squad this week as he attempts to win a move back to Station Park where he started his playing career. Summer signings Scott Graham and Chris Finnigan should also be available for selection as they play their first games for County in front of the home crowd. |
