Contract Renewals: New Deals For Main and Graham
Nairn County have been handed a timely boost ahead of the new season with the news that highly-rated attacking duo Gregg Main and Scott Graham have signed new contracts.
The pair finished the season strongly as they played a key role in County finding their form again towards the end of the campaign after a treacherous middle stint. And that has not gone unnoticed in the corridors of power at Station Park as the pair have been rewarded for their efforts with new contracts. Attacking midfielder Main has signed a three-year extension on top of the one year he still
had to run on his current deal meaning he will be at the club until at least the summer of 2012. Forward Graham has signed a fresh three-year deal.
Manager Les Fridge broke the news this morning to
Nairn County FC Online. He said: "I am delighted to tie up the two players on new contracts. They both came into the team towards the tail end of last season and both of them did very well.
"We have a very young squad here at the club now and I have told them that although nothing is guaranteed, if they earn a place in the team and keep working hard then they will keep their place. What these two players have done is proof of that."
Both players grew in stature as last season progressed after starting the campaign on the fringes of the starting line up. Main made 22 starts and seven substitute appearances in all competitions last season and also managed to grab two goals earning him the club's young player of the year award. The 21-year-old came through the youth ranks at Station Park before spending time on loan at junior club Nairn St Ninian, where he finished top goal scorer and also picked up a young player of

the year award. He was recalled to County in the summer of 2006 and netted his first goal for the club in the win over Lossiemouth in March the following year and has since earned a regular starting place in the team despite the stiff competition for places in the middle of the park.
Scott Graham joined the club last summer from Fort William following a trial spell training with the squad. He is another player who found chances hard to come by in the early parts of the season although he did impress from the bench on several occasions and set up Shaun Kerr for a late goal in a win over Forres Mechanics on his home debut in October. He grabbed his first goal for the club in the win at Fraserburgh in December and since the turn of the year he has really excelled. After originally being paired up front alongside Chris Finnigan, Graham was joined by Kerr in attack for the end of season run in and the pair instantly hit it off as a partnership.
In all competitions last season, Graham notched two goals from 12 starts and nine substitute appearances.
