Transfer News: Mack Is Off But Bobby's Back
Utility man Lewis MacKinnon has completed his move from Nairn County to former club Buckie Thistle. The former Inverness CT youth is believed to have signed a pre-contract agreement with the Victoria Park outfit several weeks ago and he is set to link up with his new club at the start of pre-season following the expiry of his Station Park deal.
The 23-year-old made 17 appearances and scored seven goals in his second spell with Nairn having rejoined the club upon his return from Australia at the end of November. He also spent the 2004-05
season on loan at Station Park from Inverness CT and was widely expected to return to Australia in February. But he opted to stay in Scotland and played on with County, where he was contracted until the end of the season. Now that the campaign is over though, the centre half-cum-centre forward has opted to return to Buckie, where he enjoyed a fruitful spell between the summers of 2006 and 2008.
County boss Les Fridge commented: "I have known for a couple of weeks now that Lewis would be leaving us if the truth be known. It has been something of an open secret I think and he said it to be himself a couple of weeks ago. There was then no point in me involving him when we knew he was definitely going to be leaving. He was suspended for the Forres game and regardless of whether it was Buckie or anyone else, I still would not have involved him on Saturday."
But as one centre forward gets set to end their second spell with Nairn, another is set to begin his. Jason Robertson looks set to put pen to paper of a three-year deal with the club having impressed in

training over the last couple of weeks. The striker returned to the club after a spell in the juniors at Nairn St Ninian and also featured from the bench in the win over Forres last midweek and from the start in the draw with Buckie Thistle on Saturday.
Robertson came through the youth system at Station Park and featured for the first team during season 2006-07. However, a change in work circumstances saw him step down to the juniors with Nairn St Ninian during last season initially on loan before the switch was made permanent earlier this season.
Fridge said: "Jason has been back training with us for the last couple of weeks. Obviously he still has his job offshore but he says he would like to come back to us so he has trained with us, worked away and been involved in a couple of games. I would envisage that he would be back with us next year.
"But if he was here permanently, Jason would be a very good player for us, I have no doubts about that. He has a lot of good attributes and it is just unfortunate that with his job, he is not going to be here all the time due to being offshore."
The manager is hoping that Robertson is not the only new addition to the squad when pre-season training commences in mid-June. He stated: "I am looking to add another couple of players over the summer. Hopefully we can bring in one or two new faces so we will see what happens there."
