He had always thought of himself as good-looking enough, even though 'handsome' and 'Lee' were never said in the same breath, even though his peers loved to remind him, over and over, that his eyebrows were inhumanely thick.  The day he proudly marched out in the sun,  sporting a bowl cut --- Gai-sensei-style --- people said he defied description.  (He thought they were just jealous.  Anybody who looked like Gai-sensei, who was the man, was surely set for life!)

 

He started his day with a wink at his reflection.  Neji once commented that his confidence in himself was probably enough to make up for everything else.
