Association Opportunities

  • Program Committee: The program committee arranges a program for every meeting of the association as far in advance as possible, cooperating with the Board of Directors and other committees of your association to ensure that programs are coordinated with the association's other activities, are of the highest quality and contribute to meeting the objectives of the association.
  • Education Committee: The role of the Education Committee is to encourage and develop basic and continuing education seminars and training programs designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and performance of those engaged in life and health underwriting.
  • Public Relations Committee: The Public Relations Committee develops recommended programs designed to inform the public of the objectives of NAIFA, the State Association and your local association. they also initiate programs to help to create a positive atmosphere in your community-both internally and externally.
  • Legislation Committee: The primary roles of the Legislative Committee is to examine law as and regulations existing or proposed, affecting the life and health insurance business and those engaging therein. Other responsibilities include: understanding NAIFA 's legislative positions and communicating them to your Board, working with your LUPIC committee and developing liaisons between other organizations with legislative concerns related to NAIFA 's concerns.
  • Political Involvement Committee: The chief responsibility of the political involvement committee is to actively promote the involvement of life underwriters in the election of candidates for local office consistent with the legislative interest of the NAIFA federation. Your support in building a network of involved life underwriters is essential to the success of NAIFA 's legislative program.
  • LUPAC Committee: The responsibility of the LUPAC Committee are to help educate members of the importance of contributing to our state and national association PACs and to motivate life and health underwriters to become better informed and more active in politics.
  • AHIA Health Committee: The main objective of the AHIA Health Committee is to study and research all phases of the health insurance industry, not only in the interest of the membership of the association, but also in the interest of establishing and maintaining said business on a basis where it will best serve the needs of the public. With the assistance of AHIA, this committee implements programs and services that lead to enhanced professionalism of health insurance and employee benefits agents.
  • Membership Committee: The membership committee is charged with the responsibility of organizing and running membership recruitment and renewal promotion for your association. some basic duties include: organizing a membership campaign, finding appropriate prospects and keeping the membership team motivated over the course of the campaign.
  • Community Service Committee: The Community Service committee develops and broadens the scope of the association's community service activities and promotes the participation of association members in such activities.
  • Financial Fitness Publication: The FFP Committee puts together a newspaper insert tabloid which promotes individual advisors by the use of informational editorials and company advertisements.  Also the local association is promoted to the surrounding area with an editorial by the president and a list of association members.
  • (coming) Life Insurance Day Committee: The LID Committee puts together a day long sales congress and trade show in Traverse City. We have vendors participate, breakout workshops with timely topics and platform speakers to motivate and educate our members.
