According to 1wrestling.com, the WWA pulled their contract from the table on New Year's Eve when it was believed that Nash told them of his intentions on signing with the WWFE. Here's Nash's statement from KevinBigSexyNash.com: "The Internet rumors continue today, but let me tell you the truth. Wrestling websites today are reporting that I have signed with the WWF. With the holidays over it's kind of nice to see things back to "normal." And normal it was. Vince came out to do one his promo's; Steph came back to do one of her promo's. Taker still seems to get the pops, well really I found Smackdown to be a very enjoyable show. Again nothing earth shattering although HHH was mentioned throughout and yes he was put into a storyline with Larger Than Life, A Living Legend, Chris Jericho. So I was thrilled about that. The show opened with another Tazz/Spike Dudley vs. The Dudley's for the Tag Team Championship Titles. This match was good, but for me last week's match on Smackdown was much better and much more exciting. The Dudley's held on to win, Stacey was unable to hold on to her skirt when Spike pulled it down, and I'm thinking the tag team of Tazz and Spike might now be over. After the match, Lillian Garcia interviewed Jazz. Jazz's mic work might not be the best but she came off as a true bitch, as Austin would say she flapped her gums about how she would take care of Molly Holly. Told Lillian that she isn't like all the other bleached blonde females that sleep their way to the top. She fights her way to the top. My favorite part was her threatening to take Lillian out instead of Molly. Jazz did ok; hopefully her mic work will improve and she'll be a big bad you know what in the women's division. Ok, Vince comes out, and I'm dreading it, but I have to say Vince's promo was rather humorous. The crowd got on his nerves replying with WHAT every time he made a statement. He then would give it back to them, very funny stuff with him and the fans. Then to top it off, Vince is showing a picture of Time Magazine with Mayor Giulini on the cover as Person Of The Year. Vince says they were thinking of giving Vince the cover, and you see Time with Vince on it. Again it was funny and the fans were booing. They then started the WHAT again, and Vince showed them just how powerful he is. He had all the lights turned off; the place was completely dark. Then within a few seconds Austin's music hits Vince panics and the demands the lights back on. When the lights are back, Austin is behind Vince, Surprise! Austin starts telling Vince about his New Year's Resolutions, he lists them, and by the way they all had to do with drinking and with every drink the audience replied with WHAT. Then Stone Cold said his one resolution was to knock Vince on his ass. And just as he was about too, Booker and you know who the Bossman come out, Vince attacks Austin, but Austin knocks him down and then gets the crap beaten out of him by Booker and Bossman. I found this to go on too long, and why Booker needs the Bossman is beyond me. Well Austin was busted open because of numerous hits by The Bossman with the mic. So throughout the show Michael Cole reported Austin was taken to a nearby facility and stitches would be needed. DUH! But with the announcement that Booker would be taking on Rock for number one, you just had to know Austin would return. But I'll get to that later. Ok, Austin's out and now it's Jazz vs. Molly Holly. An Ok match, not exactly one that got the fans making much noise but Jazz showed how tough she is and naturally beat Molly. Really there's no more to say about that. But afterwards, Stephanie tries to get into the building but a guard refuses to let her enter. She's not on the list of names that are allowed inside. Of course you don't tell a McMahon that and she threatens the guard by telling him in 4 days Triple H will be back and she'll have power and this guy will be fired. The guard didn't seem to shaken up by this at all. Now it's time for Jericho. He comes in giving out presents to his Canadian buddies, Test, Christian and Lance Storm. He tells them it's because he appreciates them. Christian for being the European Champion, Test for having immunity and Storm for getting his job back at WWF. Christian then says this wouldn't be because Triple H is coming back. And darling Jericho laughs and says no and tells them they deserve the gifts, because they watch each other's backs. So they all leave, and Jericho is alone. He then gets a very disturbed look on his face and under his breath says Triple H. Well you know me I just loved it, it puts Hunter against Jericho, and seeing those two feud is something I have always enjoyed. Test later on makes a play for Torrie and does his after you have Test you don't need the rest. Torrie isn't buying it and turns him down. She has hunky Tajiri, well I added the hunky part. So Test tells her to tell Tajiri to meet him in the ring. By the way as he's making a pass at her, Mr. Immunity gives her the wrapped gift that Y2J gave him. He has no idea what it is. Torrie opens it and it's a Y2J tee shirt. Test says something like it's the thought that counts. How sweet but Torrie wasn't the least bit impressed. So it's on to Big Show vs. Undertaker for the Hard-Core title. I knew Show wouldn't win, because I feel they will continue this all the way to Royal Rumble. Show lost like I thought, and the match was nothing. I can't say it was horrible or good it was a match. There was really no heat or excitement in this one at all. Can it improve? I don't know, I would like to think so, but this whole Taker thing isn't going anywhere. They keep stressing what he did to Matt, Jeff and Lita, but it doesn't seem to make Taker any more of a heel. As I've said being a heel is fine, but so far it's just not working. I really think that maybe putting Kane with Taker and making them really nasty is the only way to go. Steph tries again to get into the arena. She has an old man in a wheel chair and she's wheeling him in. Well the man Mr. Dudley is on the list and gets to go through but not Mrs. Helmsley. She starts to get mad, then cools down and tries to flirt with the guard; it doesn't work because he tells her he's gay. And then right on cue Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo in their look a like outfits walk by and the guard is just so thrilled to see them. The guard tells Stephanie that if those two did a calendar it would be unbelievable. Steph leaves in shock. The Ambiguously Gay Duo lives. Rob Van Dam and Edge vs. Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho. This was a good one. Again RVD put on a great show and looked very serious out there. This for me was probably the best match of the night, and as before Jericho got the win thanks to Angle doing the AngleSlam on Edge. Jericho was already down from a spear by Edge, so Jericho was able to pin Edge after Angle took care of him. Another victory for Jericho with the help of others. It's a pattern all right, but so far it seems to be working, Ric Flair finally shows up. Now wouldn't you think as part owner he would be there from the beginning? Well he wasn't but he told Double A, Arn Anderson that he was taking care of some serious business. Anderson tells him about Austin being hurt. Flair tells Arn to watch him in the ring. So in the ring Flair tells the fans he backs the Rock/Booker match. And then goes on to tell about all the damage he will do to Vince at Royal Rumble. Then we see yes Stephanie coming out of the audience and security guards holding her back. Flair tells them to let her go. Steph had to zip her pants up, wow those guards are animals. Anyway after she's all zipped up she enters the ring and tells the fans that Flair has always been her favorite. Even when she was young she had a crush on him. But as she got older the crush turned into respect. She told Flair that he was making a smart business move letting her in the ring. All of a sudden Flair does that weird run into the ropes things, falls down and she starts yelling, "What are you doing?" She then slapped him in the face. That's our girl. She told Flair that he needs her and he has four days to decide. She tells him come this Monday when Triple H returns the game will really begin. Steph then leaves and we are all left to wonder what Ric and for that matter what Triple H has up his sleeve. Test vs. Tajiri, not a bad match at all. The two seemed to be good with each other, and Test won by doing that Big Boot move. He also tried a MOVE on Torrie but she ran away too fast. Back to Bossman and Vince. Bossman asks Vince if he's worried about Flair hiring Steph? The confident Vince says not really because Flair is just considering it, he's worried about the reason for Flair being late. Something to do with big business. Booker walks in. They bring up his match against Rock and Booker says Who? They say the Rock and Booker says Who again. Booker tells them he will not only win the number 1 contender match but he will also start his new catchphrase, WHO. Vince warns him that the fans might still say What, but Booker is sure that Who will catch on. Oh my God, What and Who that's all I need to start saying continuously. Coach asked Rock how is New Year was. I thought Rock looked a little put out by that. Anyway he waits to hear from the fans does his finally the Rock is in Wash. D.C. and then asks how Coach's New Year was. He then asked Coach what kind of music he listens to and Coach quietly says Barry Manilow. Rock then makes him sing a Manilow song, and Coach sings Coppacabana and Coach really gets into it. Rock finally makes Coach leave and then Rock gets deep. Yeah he talks about the Peoples bottom when he was a baby and his People's strudel it looked like an umbilical cord. I think I'll leave it at that. But he does say he will win the number 1 contender match against Booker. That was the important thing, at least I think it was. As far as his match went he did win, it was a good match fast paced and yes interferance by Vince. That angered me, but then Flair came out punched Vince and they both fought their way out of the arena. So the interferance was ok, because it gave Flair a chance to take out Vince. But then Bossman came out and did what he could be Rock won. And wouldn't you know it after the victory Bossman and Booker beat up Rock and as I mentioned earlier Austin did come back and went after those two rotten guys that took him out at the beginning of the show. Unfortunately, Booker hit Austin with a chair and Austin and Rock were left lying on the floor and Bossman and Booker left smiling. Well Austin has yet to put an end to Bossman and Booker hopefully that's coming. Rock and Jericho now meet at the Royal Rumble, nothing or should I say no one seems to keep Stephanie off television and the most important thing is HHH returns this Monday. Boy I hope his return is as great as all the hypes been. As some of emailed me I hope it's not a 5 minute appearance. I know WWF is very good at teasing, let's hope they do this right. I see the ratings high for Monday and hopefully if things go well the ratings will stay up for awhile. I'm also seeing a Rock/Austin vs. Booker/Bossman tag match on Raw. Wow there's something to look forward too.
