The reason for this is believed to be their recent heat with the WWF management. Though Vince explained them that they needed a break, the trio is taking it as a punishment. However, the Hardy Boyz are still scheduled for house shows in the near future. Dave Meltzer also reports that another reason for the Hardyz and Lita's "suspension" for 6 weeks is that it was felt that the trio's act was getting a bit stale and that when they do return to TV, they will be brought in with a new angle. On an aside, Saliva will be doing a new theme music for the Hardy Boyz and Lita when they return to TV. OR "LITA GROUNDED; JEFF AND MATT NOT ON TOP" VISIT MY HOME PAGE: http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/samjerry/index.htm In Emperor Vince's Empire, there is only one Master, and that man is Emperor Vince. If he says "Jump!" the only acceptable answer is "Was that high enough?" Right or wrong, that's the way it is. If you recall WCW (You remember "Wheelchair Championship Wrestling," "We Can't Wrestle," or the myriad of other names it was called), then you remember that one of the big reasons it went to the big Ring In The Sky was because there were too many Chiefs and hardly any Indians. Therein lies the reason for this epistle. Matt and Jeff Hardy, and apparently Lita (perhaps guilty by association) have pissed off The Emperor, and their punishment appears to be a six week exile from TV. The problem began at The Vengeance PPV, where Vince was most unhappy at their performance. They wrestled a "safe" match, as compared to their normal (and expected) "life and limb are secondary" match. Team Extreme apparently come to the obvious conclusion that their careers (and perhaps lives) would be considerably shortened if they continued wrestling as they had been. They looked into their crystal balls and saw themselves becoming permanent residents of the Dudleyville Home For The Walking Challenged at a very young age. Problem is they came to that conclusion on their own, without The Emperor knowing it. While it is certainly every wrestlers personal decision about how much risk to take, there is another side to the equation. Team Extreme became one of the top tag teams in The WWF (and by definition, in wrestling), by taking all kinds of risks and performing moves that made the fans wince. If they hadn't adopted this style, they would have remained two small wrestlers trying to get by as low to mid-carders. The WWF loves "big" men, and gives them the spotlight. To overcome this, wrestlers have to have something that the fans want. Light Heavyweights are relegated to such wonderful jobs as sweeping the arenas, carrying The Rock's and Stone Cold Steve Austin's jocks, etc. You get the picture. They rose to the top of the Tag Team Division; Held the WWF Tag Team Championship on several occasions; Had spotlight matches on many PPV's; Were involved in many angles, etc. All this because of their style, which got and kept the fans involved. Now they have decided to "play it safe." Other things have happened recently, which are probably related to the above. The Hardy Boyz have shown up late for TV tapings and shows, and reportedly have been somewhat of a distraction in the locker room. Emperor Vince doesn't like to see his boat rocked. If you rock it, there are consequences. The Hardy's rocked it and are paying the price. They are two very talented individuals. It would be a shame to see them throw their careers away, or get hurt doing the kinds of things they have been.
