Meltzer goes on to say that Danny Doring and New Jack were brought in as last minute replacements. -The Christmas edition of the National Enquirer, on shopping mart store shelves now, has a story on the Chyna/HHH (Joanie & Jean Paul) break-up. -Reports of Eric Bischoff getting into promoting MMA/K-1 were correct, as he will be helping promote two K-1 cards next year, according to RFVideo. -CZW shot an angle at Saturday night's show to start an ECW vs. CZW angle. At the end of the show, former ECW wrestlers including Rocco Rock, Gary Wolfe, Blue Meanie and Rockin Rebel invaded the ring. The lights then went out and The Sandman then appeared in the ring with a chainsaw. Former co-owner Tod Gordon will be the mouthpiece for the ECW group. -Shinya Hasimoto captured the vacant NWA Heavyweight Championship on Saturday night after defeating Gary Steele and Steve Corino in an Iron Man Match. The belt was held up a few months ago after a series of events where Hashimoto "won" the title when he wasn't supposed to, and then Steele defeated Corino and claimed that he was the NWA champion. Hashimoto retained the title last night in a Iron Man 4- way match against Dylan Knight, Steve Corino and Gary Steele, after Corino tapped to a chokehold submission with 2 seconds left on the 30-minute time limit to give Hashimoto the 4-3 fall victory. Stasiak trips three times on his way to receive his award, and bumps his head on the stage rendering him unconscious. Sorry folks, no acceptance speech from the Mecca of Morons. The nominees for best interview are The Rock, Chris Jericho, and Steve Austin. And the winner is: STEVE AUSTIN. Austin comes up to the stage, complete with Bionic Redneck vest and bow tie, and cracks open a couple-three Steveweisers. He proceeds to shower the front row with the frosty beverage to the chorus of "WHAT?" (I'm still trying to figure out when that became cool) The nominees for worst angle of the year are: DDP as a stalker, Chyna's paralysis, and Kurt Angle joining the Alliance. The winner, by an overwhelming margin: CHYNA'S PARALYSIS. Unfortunately, Chyna could not make it, as she is doing a promotion for her latest appearance in a skin rag in an attempt to make it as a "serious actress." Her award will he shipped parcel post, postage due. The nominees for best angle of the year are: Rock vs. Jericho, Shane and Stephanie form the Alliance, and Austin joins the Alliance. And the winner is: SHANE AND STEPHANIE FORM THE ALLIANCE: The two banished McMahon children somehow make it into the building to accept the award. Shane thanks everyone, but reminds them that the better man won. Stephanie is crying her eyes out, still trying to figure out how to make ends meet without daddy's money. The nominees for PPV of the year are: Wrestlemania, Invasion, and King of the Ring. And the winner is: WRESTLEMANIA: Mr. McMahon comes out to accept this award. And he definitely knows how to get spiffed up for these events. He thanks everyone for the support, and reminds everyone that even though it was never really said on TV, that TED Turner was actually the first member of the "KISS MY ASS CLUB!!" The nominees for best Raw/Smackdown moment are: Kurt Angle slamming milk Austin style, The reformation of ECW on Raw, and HHH finishing his match despite blowing his quadricep. And the winner is: THE REFORMATION OF ECW: Paul Heyman comes out laughing heartily as he tells everyone that this is one award even Vince can't take from him. The nominees for feud of the year are: Rock vs. Jericho, Rock vs. Austin, and Jericho vs. Stephanie. And the winner is: JERICHO VS. STEPHANIE. Chris Jericho accepts this award, although he does it with a heavy heart. He tells everyone that he finally realized that Stephanie is not a 2 dollar trash bag ho. That she's actually a very lovely person. This is followed by a chorus of boos, and flying produce. The nominees for face of the year are: Undertaker, Rock, and Kurt Angle. And the winner is: THE ROCK. No surprise considering that two of the nominees are heels now. The Rock thanks the people, and tells them that no matter what, he will always 'Layeth the Smacketh Down' for the people. The fans give him a standing O. The nominees for heel of the year are: HHH, Kurt Angle, and Steve Austin. And the Winner is: STEVE AUSTIN. Austin, now a face, asks everyone if they thought he was a good heel. They respond "Hell Yeah!!" His response is "And that's the bottom line." The nominees for woman of the year are: Trish Stratus, Stacey Keibler, and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. And the winner is: STACEY KEIBLER. Stacy comes up to the stage, and says nothing. She just starts dancing on top of the podium to the delight of all us hornballs. Where are my ones? The nominees for tag team of the year are: The Hardy Boyz, The Dudley Boyz, and Edge and Christian. And the winners are: EDGE AND CHRISTIAN. Another interesting result, considering two of these teams are no longer together. Edge and Christan end up in a brawl that goes all the way out to the street, because each believes they were responsible for the team's success. The nominees for wrestler of the year are: RVD, Kurt Angle, and Steve Austin. And the winner is: RVD. RVD won in a landslide, and you could tell by the immediate standing O. Kind of a short speech though. All he said was "Cool." And finally, the nominees for match of the year are: HHH vs. Stone Cold 2 out of 3 falls, Kurt Angle vs. Shane at King of the Ring, and RVD vs. Jeff Hardy at Invasion. And the winner is, HHH vs. Austin. The winners are civil long enough to accept the award. They both realize they were a part of history, and respect that. They both thank the fans and move on.
