He will be playing himself. Kevin Nash, in California this week attending several meetings for potential TV and movie roles, found time Tuesday night to attend the Los Angeles Clippers-Miami Heat game at the Staples Center. He was recognized - and saluted - by broadcaster Bill Walton, a Basketball Hall of Famer, and shown multiple times on the arena's JumboTron TV. Nash was sitting four rows away from baseball legend Eddie Murray. Nash also confirmed on Wednesday that he will not wrestle Jan. 4, 2002, at the Tokyo Dome with Scott Hall. -WWC (based in Puerto Rico) has announced that he has nearly reached an agreement with Hulk Hogan to appear on its January 6 show. -New Japan Pro Wrestling is also interested in bringing Hogan over for appearances to help commemorate their anniversary next year. -Raw on Monday fell out of the top ten as far as Monday night TV shows in Canada, but it still ranked No. 2 among Men 18-49 (behind Weakest Link) and No. 3 among teenagers (behind Dragon Ball Z and The Simpsons) this past Monday among all shows in that country. Tough Enough also ranked No. 6 among teenagers. -Hulk Hogan seems to be the next high level star to appear for WWC in Puerto Rico. Both Ray González and Carlos Colón have announced that Hulk Hogan has almost reached deals with them. It's expected that he would come in for a show in early January. -Eddie Guerrero said in an interview with ChairShots Radio that his contract was terminated by the WWF, by telephone, because after he got out of his six-month rehab he got into a DWI and did the things he was not supposed to do. -Brian Christopher suffered a scratched retina in a match tonight working for the WWA in London. Christopher was examined at a local hospital and released. The injury is not considered serious, and Christopher is not expected to miss any shows on the WWA tour. Christopher has been matched against Disco Inferno on most of the shows during this tour, and the matches have been getting strong reviews from fans in attendance. Christopher has reportedly been one of the most "over" of the wrestlers on the tour. The current WWA tour of the UK is at it's mid point, with five shows remaining. Plans currently call for the WWA to return to the UK in May of next year. Source// 1wrestling, slam!, observer, ultimo ===================================================================== Article//============================================================ WWF Sees 2002 Revenue Off 12 Percent NEW YORK (Reuters) - The World Wrestling Federation (WWF) on Wednesday said it expects fiscal 2002 revenues to decline 12 percent to $402 million from $456 million a year ago, reflecting declines in television ratings, attendance, and pay-per-view purchases. The company previously forecast revenues in a range of $395 million to $415 million. ``We believe our audience will come back strong when they see our new characters and story lines,'' said Linda McMahon, chief executive officer, at a UBS Warburg media conference here. Like many media companies, the WWF has also suffered from a decline in the advertising market, although not as severely as have other companies in the sector. The company expects to earn 51 cents a share for the year, compared with 87 cents a share a year ago. ===================================================================== Comment//============================================================ Linda's SmackDown! Thoughts I'm not the most creative person in world so for me this is a little hard to right about my being at Smackdown last night. I don't want to give ANY spoilers away. So I'm thinking so very hard how to do this without ruining it for those who want to wait until Thursday for the show? So what I'll do is basically not mention any of the matches in case a lot of you don't want to know who is taking on who. Let me give you a general idea of just what happened last night. I hope you guys will find this enjoyable reading. First off let me say I saw my first dark match without any chants of boring. This match had the attention of the crowd and I never saw a crowd so into a dark match before. It was Brock Lesnar vs. Rico Constantino. I know Constantino is coming up to the big leagues very soon, and Brock Lesnar has been mentioned in the same category as Angle. Well wait until you see this Lesnar. My son says he looks like a Cyborg. And I guess he's right. This man is unreal looking. I can't explain his build, but he is all muscle and he is so damn intimidating to watch. It was a very good dark match the fans WERE into it and I think he definitely has a future in the WWF. Constantino has the look but in that match it was all Lesnar. Even last night's Heat tapings were well worth watching. These tapings are for the International viewers, so I think they will be very pleased with what they see. I will tell you Tazz has a match for Heat and he got MAJOR pops from the fans. I was thrilled for him. Also Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo received a good pop for their match, but I was more impressed at the end when the match was over. What you won't see is Palumbo and Gunn in the center of the ring, posing and Billy doing a teeny tiny crotch chop, even better than that was as they left they went to the crowd talked to them and shook hands with the fans as they were leaving. They really put on a nice show after the match. On to Smackdown. Again, I won't tell you the matches but I will say there were a few weak ones, but all in all good matches and great in ring and backstage promo's. And I feel our crowd was totally HOT I'm hoping that we come off that way I television. Austin appeared on the screen, and he had the fans doing WHAT so perfectly and loud it was absolutely great. And I'm so happy to say Austin has his old theme music back, the Rattlesnake is back and I'm glad. Rock by far got the biggest pops through out the night. They were deafening. Stone Cold was second loudest but nothing like Rock's. I saw zillions ok maybe not zillions but lots and lots of fans with Rock shirts and Stone Cold shirts seemed to be the second most popular. I was disappointed when they showed HHH's promo for Mad TV not a big reaction like I expected. Yeah I applauded and yelled did you think I would sit on my hands? I didn't think Austin's video to My Sacrifice got big pops either. I expected more. But I'll tell you the fans get antsy during the breaks and when that video and HHH's ad came on the fans were a little busy with other things, for instance chanting Greenbay Sucks. Like next to Rocky chants that was the big one of the night. You have to remember we aren't used to the Bears being number 1. Also Lawler is back and you know what that means, the PUPPIES are loose. Yeah lots of puppies in the stands last night, in fact many times when the show went back on a lot weren't paying attention to it, hell they had puppies to look at. Undertaker was there and he did get a lot of heat from the fans, however when he came out to wrestle and the music hit huge huge pops for him. So he's a heel but the fans sure love his theme song and entrance on his bike. Let me just add that Kurt Angle was so funny last night. He was like a little brat with Vince McMahon. I won't say more, but like Monday he's Vince's bud, but he knows how to get his digs in without McMahon throwing him out. Angle is a must to watch Thursday night. Also no Lita last night. As for the Ass kissing scene with Vince and Rock. This segment takes awhile but I don't think a lot of you will be disappointed. I think the fans were the LOUDEST during this time. Don't miss it, and if you aren't home tape it. It was your typical Chicago group, loud, and in a party mood. If the show wasn't sold out it was damn close to it. The place was nearly filled. And I do feel the crowd went home extremely happy with what they saw. I know my son, his friend and I were. This was his friend's first time going to a live show and he was so totally in awe of what he saw. Well I hope you got something out of this. I won't be reviewing the show on Friday, but I would love to hear what you have to say about it. Like I said I know many times live shows on TV aren't the same. I couldn't have asked more last night, and now I'm waiting until February for Raw. At least that's what I've been told; they're coming back the night after No Way Out. I'm already to get those tickets.
