In the Prime-Time Nielsen ratings for Nov. 12th to 18th, Smackdown! came in at 89th out of 138 shows with a 3.6. Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, another UPN show that Smackdown! has consistantly beaten in the ratings, ended up scoring a 3.6 as well. Two other shows scored the same. They were episodes of Temptation Island 2 and 24. Enterprise remains the top show on UPN with a 4.6. During the last ratings period, Smackdown! finished at 84th and had a 4.1. The rating is the percentage of the America's estimated 105.5 million TV homes. Each ratings point represents 1,055,000 households. -"Regal talks about kissing butt" is a pretty self explanitory article on Regal's embarrASSing moment on Raw last Monday. You can read that interview by clicking http://www.wwf.com/news/headlines/1096240 -RAW notes: Austin & Matt Hardy injured; K-Kwik & Moore visit *Blood was flowing from Stone Cold Steve Austin's mouth at the end of the "Winner Take All" match at Survivor Series, but the Rattlesnake says he's just fine. "That silly-ass Chris Jericho hit me in the damn mouth with a chop and busted my mouth open," Austin told WWF.com. "I thought it was going to be a lot worse than it was. When I came back to the dressing room, I was bleeding like a little bastard. But (I didn't need) a stitch - there's just a little puncture, a little crooked yellow tooth. No big deal." Austin says he is pleased with how the "Winner Take All" match went at Survivor Series, although he admits that he wasn't thrilled with the format. "First of all, I don't like elimination tags, and when you got five people on each side, I like it even less," he said. "But I thought it was a hell of a match." *Matt Hardy was in excruciating pain on Sunday after this Cage match against the Dudley Boyz at Survivor Series. During the battle, Matt was lying against the cage when Bubba and D-Von Dudley splashed into him, knocking his face into the steel. The brunt of the blow nearly knocked out his two front teeth. His gums above his top two teeth were nearly split in half, and one side of his gums was turned sideways. After the match, doctors pushed his teeth and gums back together, but Matt was still clearly in pain. He was icing his mouth, which looked downright gruesome. *Remember that gruesome spot in the cage match on the PPV where the Dudleyz splashed Matt Hardy up against the cage? That spot caused The his two front teeth to almost be knocked out, and his gums above his top two teeth were nearly split in half, and one side of his gums was turned sideways. Afterwards, doctors tried to push everything back into its regular position. He will have further x- rays to see if there is any nerve damage. *William Regal will have to have an operation on his nose after it was busted open two nights in a row by Tajiri this past week. However at the moment it has an infection and when the infection is gone then Regal will have the operation. Geez, you thought his nose was bad before RAW, imagine what it felt like in that segment with Vince. *Shannon Moore and the recently fired K-Kwik were backstage at RAW last night. *Contrary to earlier reports, RVD was fine after his match with the Dudleyz last night and said "I'm the same RVD that I was going into the ring, RVD can take that kind of punishment." -Dave Scherer reports that Jericho is fine contrary to previous reports. he worked SmackDown! last night and was walkingaround backstage fine after Raw. -Word going around is that while Steph will still be in charge of the writing team, Shane McMahon will focus more on his administrative duties, which now include overseeing the WWF publications in addition to running the New Media department. -Paul Heyman booked his bit with Jim Ross and reportedly told him to really stiff him. Heyman has always been known for wanting the bits with him to be stiff. Some Backstage SmackDown! notes: *Contrary to what has been reported elsewhere, the members of the former Alliance were not sent home from Smackdown last night. People such as Billy Kidman, Tommy Dreamer, Hugh Morrus, Booker T, Dallas Page and Raven were at Smackdown well after the taping started. At this point in time, none of the Alliance talent has been told what the storylines hold for them in the future. *Triple H was backstage again working with creative. *It appears that now that Tough Enough 2 has started up, Al Snow will be leaving his duties as Heat commentator, Tazz was at ringside with Michael Cole during the Heat tapings last night. Source// 1wrestling ===================================================================== Article//============================================================ Linda McMahon says WWF has struggled due to poor storylines Linda McMahon opened by saying that the WWF is part of an industry that has historically been cyclical, and because that has been the case over the years, they are not going to change their business strategies despite decreased revenues last quarter. "Even though (our TV ratings) are still at levels others would be thrilled to attain, the are below our (expectations)," Linda said. She stressed, though, that WWF ratings are still the highest on all of cable. "We feel our ratings slipped because our weekly storylines were not as compelling," she said. She said the integration of WCW into their storylines and the establishment of the separate brand has not happen as quickly as they had forecast. She touted this week's 4.8 rating for Raw, and noted that the first quarter hour began 0.4 than last week's edition of Raw. Regarding DirecTV negotiations, she said, "We could not accept terms that were worse than what we had before." She said although there are short term losses, the long term losses would be worse if they agreed to the terms rather than walk away after 10 months of negotiations. "We are certainly willing to sit back at the table with DirecTV," she said. Also Noted: -WWF exec Andrew Whitaker will be relocating to London to run the WWF's European division. -New TV deals in Japan, Finland, India, and Brazil. -She said WWF New York revenues have suffered in part due to the impact of the Sept. 11 attacks. She said WWF NY now becomes a night club on Saturday Nights called "The World." She said other efforts are being made to add attractions to the restaurant. ===================================================================== Article//============================================================ World Wrestling Federation Profits Drop STAMFORD, Conn. (Reuters) - World Wrestling Federation Entertainment Inc. on Wednesday posted lower quarterly profits as the weak economy and Sept. 11 attacks led to softer television ratings and lower attendance and pay-per-view sales. Net income in the fiscal second quarter ended Oct. 26 totaled $4.8 million, or 7 cents a share, compared with $9.5 million, or 13 cents a share, a year ago. The year-ago earnings included a charge of $2.9 million for discontinued operations. Wall Street analysts had expected the company to earn 6 cents a share, according to research firm Thomson Financial/First Call. Total revenues dropped to $98.2 million from $111.9 million a year ago. WWF said it aims to build ratings, develop a second brand, and expand internationally. It will open a new office in London in the beginning of calendar 2002 and will launch an international tour shortly. It said it expects fiscal 2002 revenues of $395 million to $415 million. It said it will spend about $15 million to improve its television production facilities during the year.
