In the rather revealing ad for their December PPV Vengeance, Triple H is prominantly featured with his sledgehammer. Needless to say, "vengeance" is a great name for a PPV marking Triple H's return because he has an angle laying in wait concerning Stone Cold. If you remember, SummerSlam's promotional poster was revealed mid June and had The Rock in its ad. Of course, The Rock returned at SummerSlam. Neither side has announced the deal had gone through because there are a few details left to be finalized according to the report. -Joanie Laurer, formerly know as Chyna in the WWF has done one of her first photo shoots away from the company. It's interesting to note that they are not only looking for new creative people, but they also want people who possess far more qualifications than those currently writing the shows. Refer to TV Writer / Producer in your correspondence. ===================================================================== Comment//============================================================ Vile Thoughts - by The Vile After a somewhat solid PPV by Vince and company this past weekend, people expected the following Raw and Smackdowns to generate some interest. Well, they didn't. It looks like the WWF vs. Alliance angle is dying faster than a Mike Morgan fastball. At least, that's what I come up with after looking at the putrid ratings for the week, and after Vince's announcement of a "Winner-Take All" match at the Survivor. They say desperate times call for desperate measures, and after all the WWF is looking a little desperate these days. If you look at it, how far have they really progressed? Sure, it started out great; an infusion of new talent seemed to be the sure-shot way of keeping interest in the WWF healthy. But then what happened? Everyone hated the WCW, and the whole angle had to be changed with them as the bad guys joined by the ECW guys (Newly converted) who everyone loved. But after the Invasion PPV, what did we really see? A lousy program with DDP and Undertaker, a bad program with Booker and Rock (Sorry Booker, but you can't compare to the Great One) and an intriguing program between Austin and Angle. But Austin was a converted WWF guy. They couldn't find anyone in the Alliance to give the push to; it had to be a WWF turncoat. Let's also not forget brother vs. brother-Edge vs. Christian. Did this feud ever get started? My god, it's pretty much over. It took longer than this for Bret vs. Owen to simmer. This could have been a program that people would have gone bananas for, but the WWF, Edge and Christian all dropped the ball. Besides RVD, who has really gotten any real meaningful exposure? Kanyon? Right. Tommy Dreamer? You're dreaming, right? Chuck Palumbo? No way. Helms/Hurricane? Yeah, if you want to call his exposure meaningful. Now I do realize that when you have a glut of wrestlers, some will get pushed to the side. But when you have newcomers, you have got to keep them high profile for a while so people will accept them. When it comes down to it, the WWF guys are still at the top of the mountain. With Survivor coming up, does this mean the end of the Alliance? Well, it very well could. Do you really think the WWF is gonna lose two in a row? The only other alternative could be the 8:00 time slot on Saturday for the WCW. I know that the show would most likely be taped, but it couldn't do any worse than taped Excess. What a horrible concept. A show that was supposed to feature call in segments, and then you decide to tape it. I know it would be tough to do, but if you were going to have a WCW show, and it was going to be in the 11:00 time slot, why not have it live from the western part of the country? Raw did that from time to time because of the mongrul show, and it drew decent ratings-Just a thought. I think the WCW show would be a good way to utilize some of the talent that just can't seem to break through because of all the wrestlers under contract. You could still have interfederational wars, and PPVs that highlighted them.
