Former WCW and developmental wrestlers have been told that they will no longer be allowed to go home on days when they are not booked in developmental territories. The feeling is that the WWF expects them to develop by being around the business seven days a week, so they now expect the workers to stay in the area full time. Tom Prichard met with the talent in the HWA yesterday to discuss this. Johnny Ace is scheduled to do the same tomorrow in a mandatory talent meeting of HWA wrestlers. With rumors continuing around the business that the WWF will pare its talent roster back over the next few months due to the fact that they have too many wrestlers under contract, this move would seem to be a test to determine the commitment of the wrestlers currently under WCW and developmental deals. It will mostly effect the workers who used to work for WCW, since they have higher money deals than most developmental talents. Due to that, as well as the fact that they went home on off days when they worked for WCW, it would seem that the WWF is testing their mettle by imposing this new rule. Source// 1Wrestling ===================================================================== News from the WWF//================================================== -Contrary to what Dave Meltzer reported, Dave Scherer is reporting that instead of having Chris Jericho challenge The Rock for the WCW Title at No Mercy, we may see Rob Van Dam challenge The Rock for the WCW Title & Shane McMahon take on Jericho. This would give more time to the supposed Jericho heel turn, it would also make the eventual Rock/Jericho match more effective. -Wade Keller of The Torch reports that a worker from the Savvis Center where "No Mercy" will be held just received their promotional material for the upcoming PPV. In the ad it has RVD and Steve Austin in a staredown. This PPV's main event (and the undercard for that matter) has been possibly the most talked about in WWF history as no one knows who'll appear in it. With that, the latest rumor has Austin and RVD in the main event for the WWF title while Angle takes on Regal for what happened on Monday night on Raw. There's also the Triple Threat Match theory involving Angle as well in the main. As the saga continues, and we'll keep you informed. Numerous sources have told me that Adams has been "a class act" since arriving in the territory. He has taken something of a leadership role in running some of the classes and has earned nothing but praise from the other talent and students as well as promoter Les Thatcher. Adams has been a great help in working with the young talent concerning being on television as well. Also, Adams seems to be having fun in the new role. It's nice to see Adams take what was a negative in the WWF sending him down there and turning it into a positive.
