Nulty says Adams was visiting his former roommate and both men were drinking and got involved in a brawl with each other. Adams' former roommate reportedly shot Adams and is claiming self defense. The incident happened at approximately 1am local time according to Nulty. Adams was one of the top stars in Texas for many years, but had several problems with the law that kept him from reaching his full potential. Adams will perhaps be best remembered as being the trainer for a young Steve Austin, and being involved in one of Austin's early feuds in Texas that helped launch him on the national scene. Source// ===================================================================== News from the WWF//================================================== -Dave Meltzer speculates that A LOT of big angles will be jump started tonight on RAW. He says that we should expect Mick Foley to return tonight as well as the big man himself Vince McMahon. Should be interesting. -Here's RAW's preview from WWF.com again: It's easily the biggest match in the history of RAW, and many are even calling it the match that could forever change the course of sports-entertainment history. Tonight on RAW, at 9/8 CT on TNN, Stone Cold Steve Austin will make his return to challenge Kurt Angle for the World Wrestling Federation Championship. These two competitors have formed a bitter rivalry over the past few months, culminating in epic title matches at SummerSlam and Unforgiven. At SummerSlam, the Rattlesnake barely held on to his title under questionable circumstances, and at Unforgiven, Angle won the title in controversial fashion. But now the shoe's on the other foot. Angle is the champion, and the desperate Stone Cold must defeat him. Commissioner William Regal's announcement that the Alliance is barred from ringside will be another hindrance to Austin taking back his title. Since this feud began, we've seen milk trucks, gold medals, wading pools, controversial decisions -- and two awesome one-on-one matches. Source// ===================================================================== News from the rest of pro-wrestling//================================ -The Vince Russo promotion had an ad in News of the World (U.K. tabloid paper) today advertising World Wrestling All-Stars with six shows in early December with Bret Hart (who won't be wrestling no matter what the ad indicates and most who saw the ad thought that it meant he would be), Buff Bagwell, Road Dogg, Jerry Lawler, Stevie Ray, Ken Shamrock, Big Vito, Gangrel, Crowbar, Daffney and Jeff Jarrett. Source// 1wrestling ===================================================================== Article//============================================================ Interview segment w/ Chris Benoit on Heat Chris joins Cole and Al onstage to a tremendous response from the crowd. Al asks how Chris' rehab is going. He says toughest part is not being active part of WWF, and projects an in-ring return for early next year. Cole brings up Chris' involvement in the old WCW, and we see footage of him defeating Sid Vicious for the WCW Title in his last match for the promotion back in January of 2000. Chris says leaving the old WCW was the hardest decision of his career, but problems with management made the working conditions intolerable. Al brings up that Chris was also involved in ECW, and asks if anyone from the Alliance has been in contact with him recently. Chris informs us that Paul Heyman is in contact with him on a weekly basis- however, he has no desire to return to work for him. Cole asks if Chris would consider joining the Alliance when he's ready to return to the ring. Chris claims that after seeing the Alliance on TV, particularly Stone Cold Steve Austin getting in its members faces, he doesn't see that happening. He mentions that if Austin went into his "What? What? What?" routine with him, he'd put him on his ass. Cole then asks Chris' prediction for the winner of tomorrow night's WWF Title bout. He predicts that as long as the 'no Alliance ringside' stipulation is in effect, Kurt should have no problem retaining his title. Source// 1Wrestling ===================================================================== Comment//============================================================ Vile Thoughts - By The Vile After watching the WWF the past week, and as I prepare for the Monday Night Showdown, I must say that I have no clue where the WWF is going. So if you can bare with me, a few selected rants if you please... Why have they decided to kill the career of Molly Holly? She was a hard worker, and darn cute to boot. Now they have her talking like the Hurricane, and she's Mighty Molly? Well, if she's so mighty, why doesn't she get a "swoosh" when she goes off camera like Hurricane Idiot? And what does it say when the bastion of sanity in this whole angle is The Big Show? After watching the main event on Smackdown, I have a request for the WWF: Please do not put refs in any more matches. The only thing remotely entertaining was Mike Chioda's attempt at The People's Elbow. What do we call it: The Official Elbow? Did anyone else have a feeling that Maven was going to get slaughtered in his match against Tazz? Great confidence booster for the youngster. If you guys wanted to get the point across that Maven has a long way to go, you certainly did it. And lastly, we have "One of the biggest matches in the history of Raw" (At least until next Monday) this Monday night on Raw. RVD beats the Olympic Hero/Zero, to get a title match for Paranoia 3:16. When Shane pulled the "Alliance member of our choice" gag, I thought Baldy 3:16 was going to show up right then and there. Then they had the whole voting thing. Is it just me, or when Shane asked for a volunteer, did Tommy Dreamer look like all he wanted was to sit down, and drink a nice cold Fresca? Then of course, RVD gets the cheap win, and we are subjected yet again to Austin being shoved down our throats. Now I'm not going to mark for Angle; if the WWF doesn't want him to wear the belt, fine; I'm down with that. Let's just see someone else win it. There are three possible scenarios: (1) The most likely-Austin regains the belt. With Rock holding the WCW title, the Alliance has to have something, which leaves Angle holding the empty milk container. (2) Angle beats Austin. It's a nice thought. Seeing this feud end, and a new program for Angle, but if the WWF and WCW titles are ever going to be unified, one of the belts has to be held by an Alliance member. You have got to have big hatred for the unification match, and two wrestlers on the same side won't get it done. (3) The one I'm hoping for-RVD speaks up and says "I beat Angle, the shot should be mine. To put the whole title scene in chaos would be awesome, but I don't think they're quite ready for Alliance infighting. I will be watching with anticipation; because Raw will certainly be more interesting than seeing my hometown Detroit Lions get a 50 spot dropped on them by the Rams. Until next time, seeya. ===================================================================== Comment//============================================================ Live Effects - By Rishi "House Shows Down, What A Shocker!!" I was checking out how the WWF's business was doing this year as compared to last. Of coarse, they are not up to par. Everything except merchandise sales were down. PPV buys, ratings and house show gates were all down. I remember looking at this same thing last year and saw that house shows were down even back then from the previous years. So the house show attendance right now must be pathetic compared to 1998 or 1999. You know why this is? Because house shows are garbage! I can understand that they can't put on a show the quality of a PPV, but give us something. The main event is always some sort of tag match, there are always two or three matches with guys we never even see on TV, and more often than not, we would only get one big star(if any). If Austin was there, Rock wouldn't be, and vice-versa. I remember when the main events were real good and actually had something to do with the current feuds. Like I remember going to a house show where the main event was Rock/Austin/Undertaker/Kane in a cage match. Four of the biggest stars(at the time and even now) and all were involved in a feud with each other. The last house show I went to, the main event was Regal/Big Show/HHH vs Austin/Taker/Kane, granted, all these people were involved in some way, but come on. I would have even prefered a Regal/Austin match as a main event rather than a six man tag which was pretty messy. I'm not saying that WWF should be putting Rock/Austin and Angle/HHH on house shows but give us something. If Angle and Austin are feuding on TV, have them do something together at a house show, make the show feel important, don't just slap us in the face and give us a Chaz/Scotty 2 Hotty main event(I'm not lying, this actually happened). And even if they did put something like Angle/HHH main event on a house show, so what? What does that take away? The only people who got the sneak preview were in that building, no one got it for free on TV. The people in attendance payed to see that match, and it doesn't necessarily mean they won't order a PPV to see it again. Maybe I should have written this a few weeks back instead of now because I did check the last two or three house show cards and they really were well set and seemed to be worth whatever the price of admission was but this has been bothering me for a while and I doubt this new side of the WWF will last very long anyway what with this A team and B team going on. the WWF will be splitting their roster, putting the A-Team(bigger names) on 10 000+ house shows and putting the B-Team on the smaller venues. I think this is a good idea for the workers to get out there, and maybe the fans can see some guys they haven't see for a while but I don't think it should be split like this. There should be some big stars on both, like put put Austin and Undertaker on one house show while putting Rock and HHH on the other. Give the fans who still go to these shows something.
