They've reported Vincent K. McMahon's personal wealth $700 million which tied him for 364th place on the "400 Richest Americans" list. Vince's old nemesis Ted Turner was listed at 25th with a purse filled with $6.2 billion. You know who whom invented something called "Windows" was number one at a measely 54 billion. -"A calculated risk and a helpful sister for Tough Enough winners" is an article on the two winners of the Tough Enough competition Maven and Nidia. He injured his shoulder at the September 10 'RAW.' He also worked at the 'Unforgiven' pay-per-view with a sore shoulder. -Cody Monk is also reporting that the WWF has donated thousands of T- shirts and clothing items to the victims of the recent terrorist attacks on NY City. During the first week of the rescue efforts, the WWF had volunteered to use their WWF NY complex for rescue efforts. The WWF's headquarters are in Stamford, Conn., less than an hour from NY City. -Gabe of RF Video is reporting that there could be more cuts in the WWF in the near future. Already K-Kwick and Tori are said to be gone from the WWF. The WWF probably won't renew some people as their contracts expire, rather than conducting a massive firing. -There is a thought among the members of the management that if Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall come to the WWF after their Time Warner contracts expire in early 2002, there could possibly be a role for Shawn Michaels. Michaels, who was the tag team partner of Nash, in Nash's first reign in the WWF has been friends with him for a long time now, and both getting together again on-screen would help. This is still quite a bit into the future, but is a possibility. -Rick Scacia also says that Triple H and Chris Benoit, both have been an active part of the backstage happenings in the WWF despite their injuries. When both of them show up at TV tapings, they are helping contribute to the creative side of things, especially in terms of helping guys put together their matches and finishes. News, Wrestleline, SLAM! ====================================================================== Article//============================================================= News and notes from Jim Ross -Russ Haas, one of the WWF's developmental prospects suffered a heart attack and seizures early in the week. He developed some pain after competing on TV Sunday night and was in the emergency room on Monday morning. He is now out of the hospital and is at home, but his wrestling future is uncertain as more information from his cardiologist will be needed as to how much damage the heart attack caused. On behald of Ultimo I'd like to wish Russ the safest and speediest of recoveries. -Shawn Stasiak saw a specialist on Monday, and the early indications from the radiologist are that if he has an athletic hernia, it is mild and probably will not require surgery. He will probably be out 3 or 4 weeks, but will know more next week. -Billy Kidman has been released to return to work by his doctor, and he will be going to OVW on Monday for a week of in-ring conditioning just to get the ring rust off, and ready for a return to the WWF. -Shelton Benjamin will go see Dr. Jim Andrews on Monday for a follow up on his surgically repaired elbow. He should be released for work on Monday. -HHH's rehab is going very well. He is looking at getting in the ring to do some exercises probably next month, maybe November, but his return date looks to be around December. -Jerry Lynn is about 2 months away from returning from knee surgery, as his rehab is going very well. -Eric Angle will be going back to the doctors within the next few weeks. They're going to try to determine if he needs further surgery to repair a ligament in his arm. -Brock Lesnar has been booked for weekend house shows in Winnipeg on 10/6 and St. Paul, MN on 10/7. Governor Jesse Ventura is also expected to attend Sunday's house show. -Kurt Angle's book seems to be doing very well, as pretty much everyone who has read it says it is a good read. -J.R noted that Russ McCullough is continuing to improve, but still has a long way to go. He will be evaluated at some live events in October. -J.R said that he will also be evaluating Randy Orton on 10/20. J.R said "This young man, a third-generation star, has got wonderful potential. He has every tool it takes to be successful." -Regarding the Tough Enough winners, Nidia will be sent down to OVW in the next few weeks to train with Victoria, Paisley and Jazz. Maven will be sent down to HWA where he'll train under Les Thatcher and Dave Taylor. -Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler did a photo shoot Wednesday in Stamford, CT for an upcoming edition of RAW Magazine. -RE: Kronik, J.R had the following to say: "Certainly the situation with Kronik just did not work out here. Bryan Clark will not be utilized any longer. Brian Adams will be sent to either Louisville or Cincinnati to work with some of the students on their TV shows. There are no plans to bring him back to RAW or SmackDown! at this time." Source// WWF.com and of course Jim Ross ====================================================================== Comment//============================================================= Vile Thoughts First off a hearty congratulations to Maven and Nidia as so expertly predicted by our editor in chief (shameless plug). I have to admit; I thought the girls were a toss-up, and I jumped on the Maven bandwagon after Greg went down. I think Maven has tremendous potential, and hopefully we'll be seeing him soon. Also I would like to personally thank the WWF for publicly declaring that there will be no war angle-ala Sgt. Slobber during the Gulf skirmish (You can't call that carpet bombing a war). Anyway, It was only an act, but you couldn't have paid me any amount of money to slam my country. I don't care if the Vin-Man offered Slobber a front office job as part of his compensation. There are just some things you don't do. And because of that, I have almost no respect for Slobber. As for the actual action in the ring, Kurt Angle "stunned" the world by becoming the WWF champion. It was a good match-not as good as the Summerslam match-sans the ending, but good nontheless. I was surprised they didn't do the celebration up more. Even Lex Loser was draped in Old Glory. All in all, the pay-per-view went pretty much as expected, except for Christian beating Edge. I guess the brass feels that this is Chrisitan's time to shine, and we'll see if he's up for it. If his first two post matches are an indicator, they are going to be turning up the heel heat for him. After seeing this weeks action, I also have to say that there is no better rivalry than Stephanie v. Jericho. Austin/Angle, Dudleys/Hardys, Undertaker/DDP? Forget about it. These two are tremendous foils for each other, and whenever they square off, it is total entertainment. Although Rock's stirring rendition of "Happy Birthday", brought a tear to my eye (sniff). Also after seeing DDP's promo this week, I have one thing to say. In the immortal words of Han Solo: "I've got a bad feeling about this." Is it just me, or before Booker Q and Exam's WCW title win over the Biker and Kane, were the WCW wrestlers just a bunch of schlubs? I mean, here they were; talking big and bad about how they were going to take over the WWF. Well, is that why all WCW titles were held by non-WCW wrestlers? The World Champ-WWF. The U.S. Champ-ECW. The tag champs-WWF. The Cruiserweight Champion-WWF. Also, is it just me, or would this whole "Alliance" thing have sunk into the sea without the ECW wrestlers? And until Sunday, the WWF title was held by an alleged WCW wrestler. Remeber Paranoia 3:16? He was a WCW wrestler early in his career. Until Hogan and his cronies came in, and WCW kicked Austin to the curb like stale leftovers. Question for the WWF: Rock beats Shane and Booker Q.-AGAIN . Angle beats Austin for the WWF title. Where the hell are you going with all of this? And lastly, another irrational rant. I know that I can be hard on wrestlers on the drop of a pin-Hey, I'm a fan alright? But I must say that there is a new leader in the Immortal Idiot of All rankings; and that is "The Hurricane." Look, you wanna do a superhero gimmick? Fine. He wasn't the first, and I'm sure he won't be the last. However, must we see new levels of idiocy each week? It's bad enough that a promising lightweight is stuck with a tremendously lame gimmick. Now must we have all the superhero "extras?" The "Swoosh!!", The Hurri-cycle, and worst of all, dragging Lance Storm into this quagmire of illiteracy. I truly lost it during the "Wondertwins" gag. Now I must admit, I was a comic geek when I was kid, and I still enjoy a good comic saga from time to time. But the Wondertwins were an abortion that lived. They were easily the worst "heroes" ever created. Next to Wendy, Marvin, and Wonderdog of course. And then you have The Hurricane, who belongs in "The Mighty Heroes". You may remember them: They were the Chicago Cubs of Superheroes-The loveable losers. Memo to WWF-Drop the Hurricane, and get Helms back into a more serious program.
