If T&A doesn't help teh show's ratings, what's next? -There is a possibility of Bradshaw getting involved in the match between Booker T/Shane McMahon and The Rock for the WCW Heavyweight Title. According to rumors, Bradshaw will have a huge impact on the result of this match. -Not only the Houston crowd, but also major part of the wrestling community is upset with Bradshaw's use of language Thursday on Smackdown. He received a lot of calls regarding his segment, including one from Jim Cornette, who is the head of the WWF's OVW development promotion -The Undertaker's DVD, This is My Yard, will be available in mid- November. -SmackDown! will be broadcast in its entirety Saturday night, from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., on WWOR TV, UPN 9 in the New York City area. -Speaking of the show, it got a 4.3 overnight broadcast rating, with a six share. He is currently taking some time off until it heals, which could take four to six weeks. *X-Pac (Sean Waltman) was involved in a car accident this past Monday and suffered a strained neck. He is expected to be sidelined for another week to let it heal. *Lance Storm (Lance Evers) is currently working through a minor MCL strain. *Hardcore Holly (Robert Howard) underwent surgery this past Thursday in Birmingham, Alabama, to remove a plate in his arm that was inserted when he broke the arm awhile back. He is expected to be out for six months. *The Undertaker (Mark Calaway) is currently working through a shoulder separation. Diamond Dallas Page's (Page Falkinburg's) knee is close to a full recovery after coming off surgery last month. His return is close to happening. *Kane's (Glen Jacobs`) infected elbow is almost at 100% *Triple H (Paul Levesque) continues rehab in Birmingham and plans to return in early December if not a little sooner. *Rikishi (Solofa Fat) continues shoulder therapy and will be re- examined in mid-October. He plans to return in two more months. *Billy Kidman (Peter Gruner) will report to OVW on October 1st for a week to loose any ring rust. *Trish Stratus (Patricia Stratigias) is expected to return by mid- October from her ankle injury. *Chris Benoit continues his therapy and it has been said to be very successful thus far. His return is tentatively scheduled to take place early next year. *In OVW news, Shelton Benjamin should be cleared to return to the ring after an elbow injury next Monday. Flash is expected to return next week after a triceps tear. Eric Angle will find out next week if he needs more surgery to repair a ligament in his arm. *Elix Skipper is doing therapy for an injured knee and will return in a few weeks. *Josh Wilcox is doing therapy for a back injury but his return is unsure of at this point. *Mick Foley will be on ABC's "Celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" in the next few weeks and Kurt Angle, Triple H, Booker T, Big Show, William Regal, Trish, Lita, and Stephanie McMahon will be on NBC's "Weakest Link" in the next few weeks as well. *Val Venis (Sean Morley) is currently in HWA. *The Big Boss Man (Ray Traylor) and Bull Buchanan (Barry Buchanan) are currently in OVW this week. *Mentions that Jerry Lawler and Brian Christopher (Brian Lawler) were backstage at Smackdown this past Tuesday in Memphis. Source// WWF.com & of course Jim Ross ====================================================================== Comment//============================================================= Linda's Thoughts I don't know if I'm in the minority but I didn't care for Smackdown that much last night. For me Raw was much better. Maybe one of the reasons for my feelings was the near thirty-minute opening. The opening started out all right, but it quickly became too morbid for me. I had no problem with Stone Cold Steve WHAT Austin calling out Torrie Wilson and berating her for helping Tajiri win the U.S. title. I thought that was fine, Torrie's reaction was pretty damn good. I kept thinking how Stephanie would react and I got the chills. Torrie by far came off like a very scared and upset person and I liked that. It made Austin look like a real worm, and things were fine. I even liked Tajiri coming to Torrie's aid and Austin taking him out. So far so good, it's when Kurt Angle came to the rescue that things turned ugly for me. Again Kurt coming out to help Tajiri was fine. You knew Austin and Angle were ready to get it on. Angle didn't have a chance when Tazz tried to stop him. It was unsuccessful but it took Tazz out for the night with JR replacing him. I couldn't get that one; it was an Angle Slam on the floor, with a mat, that kept this man out for the entire show. Talk about selling a move. Anyway I still was enjoying what I was watching. It's when Austin did a pile drive on Angle without a mat, that's when I started getting a little fed up. I didn't mind the move it was the fact that for many minutes after Angle was down on the floor and you could hear him say I can't feel my hands, I can't feel my arms, and JR looked like this was really really bad. Cut to commercial and we are right back to where we left off, only this time, Angle is being put on a stretcher, there's absolutely no commentary, and it really looks grim, you have Steven Regal out there to add to the seriousness of it. So for just about 30 min, we go from the usual opening to something I think was done in bad taste. Considering what has happened to the country and also Droz's paralysis, I found this all totally unnecessary. And later in the show all this is even more worthless which I will get into. So for me the opening put a bitter taste in my mouth and maybe it carried all the way through the show. The bright spot without a doubt was no Stephanie, no screeching and no handicap match with her, by far the highlight of the show. But as I said there wasn't much else to call highlights. Hurricane Helms and Lance Storm took on Big Show and Spike Dudley. Of course with the Helms gimmick it was fun, I liked this match. Seeing Spike with Show made me think Show could eat Spike and swallow him in one gulp, but that's neither here nor there. Again I guess they don't know what to do with the big man, Billy Gunn wasn't the answer, so for now it's Spike. Of course super hero Hurricane won, then from out of the blue the Dudley's came out and put Big Show through a table. All I could think about was D-Von and Buh Buh Ray getting hernias lifting him up, but the mission seemed successful. The Alliance was backstage listening to Austin flap his gums about what he did to Angle. They looked very upset and totally turned off by him. I thought it was very odd hearing Tommy Dreamer ask Austin about Tajiri. Maybe it's just a matter of time before the Alliance mutiny's against Austin. That's something I would love to see. Kronic pulverizing Kaentai for me was garbage. We know these two are massive and watching them totally dominate these two proved nothing to me. Why not put them against the APA? And then to hear JR keep saying how impressed he is with them two was ridiculous. This wasn't a match at all it was to show how powerful Kronic is, and all it showed me was how bad the booking was. Austin rushed into Regal's office demanding Tajiri. Regal put Austin in his place and said if Tajiri can't wrestle Regal will take on Austin. Austin kept saying he has no problem with Regal. Anyway a bandaged up Tajiri would be taking on Austin for the WWF Title. I did like Raven vs. RVD. Maybe for me one of the best of the night. During this match Chris Jericho sat with Ross and Michael Cole. Ross starts giving updates about Angle. That goes on just about the rest of the night. It could be a stinger, but it could also be a hairline fracture of the neck. All night up to date reports, the way it sounded Angle should be out for a while, but wait it's not over. Anyway back to the match, RVD RVD chants all over, and I found it very odd that Y2J basically put Van Dam over, I don't think he said anything really negative about him. Jericho did mention Stephanie and got a few digs in, but for the most part had nothing but nice things to say about RVD. What could all this mean for Sunday? As the match ends RVD gets ready for his 5 star frog splash, which in fact Jericho also puts over. After the RVD's victory Saturn comes out to beat up on Raven for the demise of Moppy. Terri interferes giving Raven a chance to give Saturn a DDT. This is far from over; you know its going into Unforgiven. We saw Edge defeat Kanyon. Not a terrible match, but the fans were quiet for this. You can't just throw Kanyon out there with nothing going on between him and Edge. Of course Christian came out to interfere, but it backfired and he got out before Edge could get him. The Hardy's vs. Dudley's for the zillionth time was good, I'm not going to say it wasn't but I get tired of seeing these four over and over again. Spike ran in to prevent D-Von from head butting I believe Jeff. As Spike was walking backward on the ramp Hurricane and Storm attacked him. Now throughout the night as I said we are getting so many updates on Angle. Finally Ross let's us know that his neck isn't broken. Then RVD goes to Austin with that famous RVD smile to let him know Angle has checked out of the hospital and he might be coming back to Smackdown. You know Van Dam did it to upset Austin, but Austin acts like he's glad to hear the news. I love that RVD/Austin banter. Well it's a bruised Tajir vs. Austin, and like Kronic Austin dominates, and dominates and dominates. Poor Tajiri Booker did it to him a few weeks ago, now Austin. As Stone Cold is about to pile drive Tajiri low and behold miracle man Kurt Angle is standing on the ramp with a neck brace and letting Austin have it. Yes I know HHH was hardly hurt when he took a major plunge in a car last year, and that was ridiculous. But this just goes right with it. Kurt even ripped off the neck brace because he was so damn angry. Hey there was no reason to make this as serious as they did. He could have been hurt, but too carry it on like they did had no purpose at all. So Kurt let's Austin know just what's in store for him on Sunday, and Austin just takes it all in. Rock finally makes his appearance backstage with a Michael Cole interview, he talks about what happened on Monday with Stephanie pinning him, and then because he's in Memphis he starts singing Great Balls of Fire with his own words put in. It was OK, but Rock's had a lot funnier things that that. Now it's on to his match. It's an Elimination match with Rock and APA vs. Booker, Test and Rhyno. But let's not forget Shane is right there. It's a good one, nothing out of the ordinary, but of course as it gets near the end it's Rock alone against Test, Rhyno and Booker. Rhyno was then eliminated when Rock DDT'd him. It's now Test and Booker and after Test is thrown out of the ring, Booker leaves. Rock wants him to come back, but The Book doesn't. And that's the end. I'm sorry if I sound so down about this one, but I've seen so much better. I'll tell you one thing, seeing Bradshaw chase Shane out of the building reminded me why I'm not planning to order Unforgiven on Sunday. But I'll go into that Sunday with my predictions. I'll tell you what did please me last night. Tough Enough. I liked it very much. We saw so much more in ring activities, something we should have seen throughout. The tension is building and it kind of looks like it's anyone's ball game. Austin and Debra made an appearance, as did Ivory. Ivory was really into it, Austin was much more in character. But it was a good show, so last night wasn't totally bad. Sunday I will have predictions and thoughts on Unforgiven. I bet you all can't wait.
