They were obviously very unhappy with the show as they edited out every reference to the news and consisted only of things that took place directly in the ring and there was a lot of commentary edits as well ====================================================================== News from the WWF//=================================================== -1wrestling reports that Linda McMahon was on a radio show in SC and had a few newsworthy things to say. She said that Smackdown was not shown on TNN on Saturday night as planned because UPN objected to the move. She said that regarding Smackdown going ahead, the WWF were in contact with some Houston officials as well as many fans, and the general response was to go ahead with the show. She also noted that a WWF New York waitress is also an intern at the World Trade Centre building, and as of now she is still missing. Also to come out of the interview is that although they knew Thursday's show was a sell-out, they were somewhat surprised that everyone came. She also said that the WWF is sending out 180,000 pounds of clothing to the New York area. -Dave Meltzer reports that tonight's show in Nashville and tomorrow night's Smackdown in Memphis aren't close to being sold out. -Interesting situation with the Tag Team Titles right now. The Undertaker and Kane are expected to face Kronik at Unforgiven, but the Dudley Boyz did win a #1 contenders match a few weeks ago. The situation should be addressed on RAW tonight -Today is Jim Cornette's birthday. With raquet in hand, I say Happy B- Day! -Rick Scacia of WrestleLine.com is reporting that the management is doing its best to have Triple H return as soon as possible. WWF Raw did a 4.6 rating on Monday, which isn't an improvement from the week before, when the WWF said the loss in ratings was due to technical difficulties. Officials believe that Triple H's return would help the ratings, and thus they are pushing the doctors to try increasing the speed of the rehab by some other methods. Triple H's rehab thus far has been above expectation, and thus officials are more hopeful. -A few viewers are said to be upset with the use of language by Tazz and Bradshaw on Smackdown regarding revenge against the perpetrators who attacked New York and Washington DC on Tuesday, and have mailed the management regarding it. -Cody Monk of The Dallas Morning News reports that the Charles Wright, better known as the Goodfather and formerly Godfather, has been out of action ever since the break up of RTC. Wright is currently out of action, since the management is planning a new role for him. During this time, Wright has been training and trying to keep in shape. It is expected that he will return with a new gimmick, in October. -As a reminder, the WWF will be splitting crews on house shows, which are the non-televised events in October to give unused wrestler more time in the ring. In the Cable Nielsen ratings for the week of Sept. 3rd to 9th, Raw Is War and War Zone dropped out of the 4 ratings share. Both hours of Raw only scored only a 3.7. To make matters worse, Raw was bumped out the first and second positions on the chart by the MTV Video Awards (8.6 rating makes it #1) and an NFL football game (Miami at Tennesse). The first hour of Raw ended up being tied with U.S. Open Tennis and the second hour (War Zone) finished fifth. Each ratings point represents 1,055,000 households. -Several wrestling personalities were in Australia on a promotional tour for upcoming events when the tragic terrorist attack took place last Tuesday, and were unable to return to the United States because of the shutdown of air traffic. Road Dog, Stevie Ray, and Jeremy Borash returned on Saturday and overnighted in Los Angeles last night. They will catch flights today that will take them home. Some people may think that, being British, I am merely showing pity. As far as I am concerned, Tuesday's sad events were not attacks on America, but attacks on humanity, democracy, and peace, which are things which, as humans, we should stand up for. Whether or not it was America, England, Uganda, Brazil, Mongolia, or anywhere else in the world is irrelevant, because as people, injured or not, we have been attacked. However, mourning the losses of these brutal attacks is not what we should be doing. Yes, people are upset, but the time for mourning has passed, and the time for retribution has arrived - be that simply returning to regular practices as an act of defiance, or attacking those guilty. But life does and will go on, but not without the people of the world helping at along. God Bless to all those affected morally, emotionally and physically - our condolences are with you.
