"Many of you have suggested that I try to return to the WWF now that Stacy is no longer in the equation. Well, the truth is, I called Bruce Prichard at the WWF last week to try to mend some of the fences that had been damaged by my remarks about Bruce during my ordeal. Bruce was very gracious. He wasn't upset or angry and didn't hold any grudges. We talked for a long time about many things, one of them being my returning to the WWF, and finally Bruce suggested that I call Vince personally. I told him I would. The next day I called good ol' J.R. and we talked for a long time as well. I always enjoy talking to J.R. and I value his opinion and advice. J.R.'s advice to me was to concentrate on my business at hand, meaning my divorce from Stacy, get that finalized and behind me, and then talk to Vince about coming back. I think he is right. A divorce is a very serious thing and needs your full attention if you intend to protect your own best interests. And that is what I intend to do. The WWF has rescheduled tentatively for Thursday. It's assumed that it'll go live given the day it's shown. The following is their official statement on the matter: WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION ENTERTAINMENT POSTPONES SMACKDOWN! Due to the tragic events across the United States on Tuesday, World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc. postponed Tuesday's live event at the Compaq Center in Houston. The event is currently rescheduled for Thursday, September 13 at 6:30pm (CST). Nash left the WWF on good terms and is personal friends with Vince McMahon. Since Vinnie loves his "big men", look for it to happen (especially since we're seeing the talentless Adams and Clarke on television). -Scherer also states that once Scott Steiner is healed from his heel injury, he'll be on WWF television the next day. JR mentions him in his report practically every week and meetings and talks between the two have been ongoing. It's only a matter of time. In teh new year, the nWo may return to television for sure. -Booker T will be this week's guest on Byte This! Jones reported that the WWF is "continuing negotiations" with DirecTV to air their PPVs, but that they could provide "no assurances" that a deal would be reached. -MECW's Tod Gordon has told 1Wrestling that Dave Penzer's services will no longer be needed. -On September 15, 2001, Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW) will be presenting a new weekly television series "UPW Live!" every Saturday Midnight Pacific time across Southern California on KDOC-TV. -Brian Christopher pulled out of his 10/10 booking for Border City Wrestling in Oldcastle, ONT and will be replaced by Stevie Ray. This is the show with the Terry Taylor vs. Cyrus match coming out of that radio angle they did over the weekend. Source// yahoo! News, Dave Meltzer, Dave Scherer ====================================================================== Article//============================================================= Bret Hart on "Rove Live" in Australia Max Myint reporting Hart got the biggest pop of the night and a lot of whistles. They talked about his early days getting into wrestling and people who knocked wrestling for being fake. Hart credited wrestlers for being both great athletes and actors and didn't hide the fact that wrestling was choreographed which he noted as part of the "unique profession". When asked about which wrestlers Hart thought were "crappy" and careless, Hart answered, "that McMichaels guy"- referring to Steve "Mongo" McMichael. To be fair Bret said he was a nice guy, but just should've stayed with football. They then started to talk about taking care of opponents in the ring, and injuries caused by carelessness. Rove then asked Bret whether he had been injured by someone screwing up in the ring. This obviously brought up Hart's retirement, in which Bret referred to Goldberg as the reason for his retirement in which he stated that Goldberg hit him with a "backwards mule kick which he didn't even look where he was kicking". They then talked about Hart's role in the upcoming WWA tour. Bret stated that he would not be wrestling or refereeing. Instead he would be the "honorary commissioner". When asked whether he would be a heel or face, he stated that the beauty of the Hitman is that he's always in the middle, but wouldn't take crap from anyone. Rove then challenged Hart to a match, and said that he would kick his "roody poo candy ass!" Hart laughed and said that he wouldn't be able to due to his retirement, but he had taught his brother the Sharpshooter.
