Source// WWF.com and of course Jim Ross ====================================================================== Article//============================================================= Recap of Vince McMahon on "The Score" *Why do you receive cheers at the WrestleMania press conference, while Earl Hebner was booed on Raw, when Vince was the main man behind the double cross in Montreal? - He's not sure. Sometimes he's cheered, sometimes he's booed. That's the great thing about the WWF, the fans get to pick and choose who they like and don't like. *Do you regret the XFL? - No. The XFL was a blast. They received bad media coverage in the US which hurt it. It was partially their fault for not being totally honest about what the football was really going to be like. They were a bit cocky in their assumption that since it was on NBC, and with its style, it would be a sure hit. *Did he/the WWF become lazy with the XFL taking up so much time, and losing their competition? - The great thing about the WWF fans is that if they don't like something, they'll let us know. They are very vocal and opinionated. They regretted losing WCW as pure competition. By buying WCW they were in turn making competition with themselves. This will hopefully be in the form of a new show some day, which might take off, or which might fall flat on its face. *Do you care what the media says about you? Or how you'll be remembered? - He doesn't really care how historians view him. The most important thing is how his family views him. Like anyone, he cares what people say/think about him though. If he could be remembered as a man who tried to entertain fans, he'd be happy. *Do you have any regrets? Anything you'd like to do again? - Obviously he couldn't foresee Owen's tragedy. It was a stunt he had performed regularly. *With the things we're seeing wrestlers like the Hardyz do these days, isn't that worse than the Owen tragedy in some ways since Vince is in control of what they can and can't do? (they show the clip of Jeff Hardy going through the table against RVD from Smackdown a couple weeks ago) - No, because the Hardyz are in control of their bodies, where as Owen wasn't in control, he put his life in stunt technicians hands. *Then isn't it Vince's job as the owner of the company to step in and say "no" to dangerous moves/stunts? - Absolutely. Vince says "no" every day. There are many "imaginative" young wrestlers who are willing to take extreme risks. The younger guys are more willing to do high risk things because they have a sense that they are indestructible, where as he, as an older person can see things a bit differently. Sometimes they will say to the superstars, "can you do this safely?", or "show me, walk me through it" (regarding stunts/spots).
