In Demand stated that they have no intention of marketing against the fact that DirecTV will not be airing the WWF's PPV events, which currently are the most purchased shows on PPV. As of this writing, DirecTV's 10 million customers will not be able to order the WWF's 9/23 Unforgiven PPV due to the fact that the contract between the parties expired with SummerSlam. DirecTV says that the dispute centers around a "critical economic term" that by terms of the contract they can take to arbitration to be resolved. DirecTV senior vice president of programming acquisitions Michael Thornton has said that the WWF has told DTV that they will not talk about a new contract unless the arbitration motion is dropped. Thornton said that the WWF is "behaving like a monopolistic company by blatantly saying it would not offer its [PPV programming] to DirecTV." He added that WWF PPVs are financially important to DTV and that they "feel we're being held over a barrel." The WWF's corporate-communications director Jayson Bernstein said that it's "unfortunate" that DirecTV chose to go to arbitration and that it's now "unlikely" that Unforgiven will be on DTV. You can read it by clicking http://www.wwf.com/news/rossreport/ -On September 4, The WWF will be releasing a special Magazine for The Hardy Boyz and Lita called Extreme. The magazine will feature life on the road with Team Extreme and stories. -"Access Hollywood" aired a feature on Rock last night. A two minute report by Nancy O'Dell detailed the birth of The Rock's daughter (nicknamed Pebbles). He talked about the delivery, joys of fatherhood, and that when boys want to date "Pebbles,", they will have to deal with the Rock. -WWF.com reports that The Rock will make an appearance on the Howard Stern radio show on September 6th -The Sacramento Bee yesterday detailed Rikishi's rehab in Sacramento. Rikishi says he can't wait to get back in the ring. He said he has lost 75 pounds since his injury. He details encounters with fans in Sacramento, too. Can you believe that people actually ask him to give them a stink face and he does it? The article goes on to talk about his family that life in the area and how Vince McMahon came up with the Rikishi persona; basically what a sumo would not do (bleach his hair, dance, rub his ass against opponents). It's a pretty good read. To access the article, click http://www.sacbee.com/lifestyle/ -Off air Raw is War happenings: Jakked/Metal tapings: *Perry Saturn d. Taka Michinoku *Crash d. Funaki *Raven d. Essa Rios When Raw went off the air: Angle started to spray the Alliance again with milk and eventually left in his milktruck. Austin got his composure back and, covered head to toe in milk, complained about Angle. So much, that Stephanie led another rendition of that song of theirs. Austin then told the Sacramento crowd that the Alliance will never return to Sacramento and that got the biggest pop of the night. Austin then quickly reotred and said that they would indeed come back and the crowd booed. End of show. -The Undertaker will be appearing in Entertainment Weekly Magazine, which will go on-sale this Friday (August 24) and will be available for one week. Source// ====================================================================== Comment//============================================================= Rounding the Squared Circle - by Sam Jerry "THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY" OR "ONE LAST VISIT TO SUMMER SLAM" VISIT MY HOME PAGE: http://members.aol.samjerry For those in Beautiful Downtown Lower Dudleyville and anyone else that has to ask about the Titles to my Articles, I thought I would spell out today's right up front: The Good: SummerSlam; The Bad: RAW; The Ugly: What/Who else? Dirtbag Doophus Page (with a few votes for Sara). SummerSlam delivered what you expect from a PPV; several good matches: The WWF Hardcore Championship Ladder Match delivered all you could want from a match. Mr. Everything, RVD, of WCW and Jeffrey Hardy of the North Carolina Hardy's, gave it their. RVD came away with the Title in a match loaded with high spots. During the match Good Old JR uttered words to the effect that this might be the last Ladder Match because of the potential for injuries. These two don't need a Ladder to have the crowd roaring. Imagine what wrestling would look like if everyone worked the way these two do. The Taker got his revenge as he tore Dirtbag Doophus Page (DDPee) several new rectal openings in the WCW / WWF Tag Team Championship Unification Match, held in a Steel Cage. Taker and Kane allowed Kanyon to escape the cage leaving Our Boy to get what he deserved, and get it he did. The crowd in the arena yelled for Our Boys blood and they got it. Taker beat him to a pulp and left him in a pile of his own droppings. They had to remove him with a blotter. Is there anyone more despised than Dirtbag? The Rock took Buckwheat's WCW Championship, leaving The Rock wannabe and Prince Shane lying on the mat. The match went back and forth as The Rock fought both of them off. It was a fitting end to Buckwheat's poor imitation of The People's Champion. He came away The People's Chump. Beer beat Milk as Stone Cold Steve Austin (SCSA) retained the WWF Championship walking out the winner over Our Olympic Hero (nee Zero). Neither man came away looking much like a winner as Austin looked worse for wear and Hero went directly to The Red Cross and had two pints replaced. His face was a bloody mess from several meeting with the ring post, courtesy of SCSA. Too bad a great match was marred by a suck a*s ending. SCSA was DQ'd for destroying half the referees employed by The Emperor. It looked like he was playing a video game as he knocked them down as fast as they arrived. In another match of interest, Y2J finally beat ECW's answer to a Vulcan Swamp Beast, who was handpicked by The Princess Ho to take Y2J out. Her surgeon did a better job enhancing her than Swamp Beast did defending her honor. We didn't have to wait long to find out who her next choice was, as she sent former fiance Test(icle) out on RAW. He didn't fare any better. Now to The Bad. Following a good PPV, expectations were high for RAW. Too bad RAW didn't deliver. Things just didn't seem to click. The Rock did a bit with a mini-Buckwheat that had few laughs. The idea was good, but it just didn't seem to work. The matches were uninspired and the last 20 minutes or so were spent on a Tribute To Steve Austin, put on by his drones in The Alliance. Picture The Princess leading the rest in song and you get the idea. Her next trip to the doctor should be to fix her voice. Every dog within earshot of a TV was heard howling. Nails on a blackboard would be an improvement. The bit ended with Hero driving in on a Milk Truck. He bombarded The Alliance with milk containers and then turned a hose on them, soaking them with moo juice. Shades of SCSA dousing The Emperor with brew. A fitting end a poor show. SmackDown will be live again Thursday and there is no way to go but up. Oh yes, The Ugly: Sara challenged Our Boy to a match, which he jumped at. The Taker was at ringside and was not going to interfere. Believe that and you qualify for membership in The Beautiful Downtown Lower Dudleyville Cow Pie Collectors Club. Slap by Sara; Push by Our Boy; Attempt by Our Boy at smacking Sara around; enter The Taker and out on the floor goes Our Boy for another major a*s kicking. As Bugs Bunny would say. "What a maroon," believing The Taker was going to stand by and watch him hit Sara. I digress; Taker shoveled Our Boys remains into the ring, where Sara got the pin. The highlight of the show for many, if not most. Now that I think about it, a pretty good show. ====================================================================== Comment//============================================================= SummerSlam Thoughts - by The Dream Team SummerSlam ended with the worst worked match in the history of worked matches, and the WWF superstars should be ashamed of how they worked this pay per view. The Saviors of the August "Sizzler" were Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy. Here is the card in order of wht we saw fit to broadcast: 1) Tajiri Vs. X-Cock - X-Cock gets his name from the amount of Non- Talent he has. The man should quit the business, and it's a travesty when you don't see a wrestler the caliber of Yoshihiro Tajiri become Lightheavyweight champion of both the WCW and the WWF. Totally Offbeat shenanigans in choosing this match's winner. this is our pick for opening match. 2)The Rock Vs. Booker T - Holy Bad Match Batman, if this is what Duane is cookin', we do not want any. This match could have been beaten out by Barry Horowits and Gillberg in a technical aspect. Booker T had something to prove at SummerSlam, and he did, that he can hold up with the champions, and The Rock proved that ring rust takes time to heal. 3)Chris "Darryl" Jericho Vs. Rhyno - A new award is given for the most botched up spots in one match, and the worst looking spots, and it is efficiently and appropriately called the Darryl. Past recipients of the Darryl have been such distinguished wrestlers such as Christian, for his botched up spot at Invasion. Now it goes to Chris Jericho, who proved that even a high talent wrestler, both mic and In Ring, can have a horrific night, so here's to you Chris Jericho, your very first Darryl Award. 4)Mark & Glen Vs. DDP and Kanyon - DDP once again proved he can roll with the legends, and is one in his own right, by taking a horrific beating at the hands of Mean Mark and Glen Kane. It's looking like Mark may be on his last legs, and we think it's in his best interest to go out with a bang.... in the form of the King of Badabing, DDP. 5)Stone Cold Cookie Monster Vs. Kurt Angle - Austin, injury and all, held up Angle in a very well wrestled, well played off match. The run ins by the ref's were well timed, and the WWF made up for botched spots with this match. Angle took an Ass whooping the likes of which the Original Stone Cold Cookie Monster would give..... what? Stone Cold Cookie Monster. both kept up all hopes of a future battle, possibly on RAW. 6)Edge Vs. Lance Storm - What can be said about these two men? Phenominally wrestled and much anticipation in this match. Both proved that Canadians still " reak of awesomeness" when it comes to wrestling. Good Job Stu, ya wrinkled prune. 7) Rob Van Dam, Mr. Pay Per View, Mr. Monday Night, Mr. NBC, Mr. TNN, Mr. I Own Jeff Hardys Ass, Vs. Jeff Hardy. All kidding aside, move of the year award candidates start off with Rob Van Dam, for his Rolling Senton off the second rope onto Jeff across the ring with the Ladder. This match should have been main event, and hopefully, one day wel will see it happen with both men in it. This looks like it should be a rivalry for the ages. Next stop for Rob Van Dam - Intercontinental Gold baby! The Trivia Question was not answered correctly by anybody, so therefore, all marks should stop writing in. Whats your match of the year candidate? Write us and we will give results of the top 3......
