X-Pac apparently hates his music as well. -1Wrestling.com reports that the new WWF show is set to start. The show is called "Excess", and the hosts of the show will be Jonathan Coachman and Trish Stratus. Triple H is the special guest for the first show, which will be on next Saturday night at 10 p.m. on TNN. This is a two-hour show which rumors are that it will eventually turn into a wCw show. This was also announced on WWF LiveWire yesterday morning. -WWF.com reports that "Droz's Two Cents" has been updated. Droz discusses Summerslam and Stephanie McMahon's breast inplants in this weeks column. Popular 'moves', but why? My cousin, who is a major mark for The Rock, goes mental whenever he sees The People's Elbow. And yet, why can he not see over the glaringly obvious fact that it is a glorified elbow drop? Every wrestler worth his salt has done an elbow drop at one point or another in his career, yet it never got called 'The most electrifying move in sports-entertainment today, The People's Elbow!'. And so, on to my point... How can wrestlers such as The Rock and Booker T get to such a high status in the wrestling industry by doing little more than a bit of choreographed showboating? Now, as I remember it, although I probably don't, The People's Elbow was done first wayyyyyyyy back in the (I think) 97 Survivor Series, and got absolutely no crowd enthusiasm, and was also greeted by JR saying 'you'll have to do more than an elbow drop to get the win son' or words to that effect. You see Booker T or SCSA planted with a People's Elbow now, and the crowd goes apeshit - explain that one to me. The Spinaroonie (or as Sam Jerry aptly put it, The Spinadoodie) is even worse. A piece (and a small piece at that) or break-dancing? What is the point? In my opinion, there are three types of finishers - decent ones, glorified ones, and pointless ones. 3D and The Angle Slam are decent enough, and unlike The People's Elbow aren't, as we say in England, all mouth and no trousers. The Raven Effect, The Worm, The People's Elbow and Shake, Rattle and Roll are all glorified versions of pretty standard moves i.e. they're adapted to look flashy. The Spinaroonie is pointless, in as much as it does nothing. But still, the likes of Booker T and The Rock get pops from the crowd for these, while one of my favourite finishing manouevres, the Michinoku Driver, gets nothing, even though it is a far superior move, albeit from a lowcarder. This is one area where certain individuals need to be taken aside in the locker room and told about the error of their ways - it's not going to happen, but it needs to be done. For a long time WWF has tried to get over the realism aspect of wrestling, yet when was the last time you put someone close to unconsciousness with a running elbow drop?
