Yesterday afternoon, on the nationally syndicated "Opie and Anthony Show", Stephanie admitted to having the surgery done about five weeks ago. They are still swollen so that's why she looks so huge. Mentioned that one of the reasons she got the implants is because one time at Raw she saw a sign that said "Steph's puppies sag." She would not answer any questions about her and Triple H. She actually got a little defensive and said she does not talk about her personal life. (She was not in character for the interview.) She took responsibility for Rock's F-bomb on Raw. Said she missed her cue to cut him off because she could not hear him with the crowd and all. (You could clearly hear Booker say "I'm gonna f--- you up, sucka." The mics clearly picked this up.) Source// 1Wrestling & Neil Greenberg via PWTorch.com ====================================================================== News from the WWF//=================================================== -Raw delivered a 5.2 rating and 8.4 share Monday night. The show started off much stronger than usual in the first hour, but also showed far less growth than usual. The rating seemed to indicate a general public turn-off late in the show, although it's hard for me to understand why, because it is rare to see such a late drop unless there is a competition wrestling show on. Overrun did come back to a 5.4, which is the weakest main event number in several weeks. The lengthy talking segments did well, but seemed to burn the audience out. -In his regular Entertainment Weekly.com wrestling feature, Mike Flaherty looks at Kurt Angle, focusing on his hilarious bit with Shawn Stasiak and the suit of armor from last night, and pointing out how Angle has become the WWF's MVP. To read the article, click http://www.ew.com/ew/article/commentary/0,6115,171133~3~0~kurtanglesww fsmost,00.html -Vince McMahon was also said to be irate that the Rock's F bomb made the air. The promo was done late in the day yesterday and he reportedly did scan it and gave it the OK. The idea was supposed to be that somehow, Rock would be stopped before actually saying the word, but it never happened. -As for the angle built around Stephanie's boob job, she was 100% behind it. It was basically a situation where they decided that since everyone was talking about it anyway, they chose to make it part of the storyline. -While he hasn't been on TV lately, Vince McMahon has been at all of the TV shots, running the shows in back and fine tuning things on the programs. The whole "Austin is insane" promo that opened Raw was largely his doing. -The Tough Enough soundtrack will hit stores on October 2nd, and will feature "Bombshell" by Powerman 5000, a live version of "Dead Cell" by Papa Roach, and cuts by Mudvayne, Godsmack, Deftones and Disturbed, among others. This should not be confused with the next WWF theme music collection (which may or may not be titled "WWF: The Music Volume 6"), which will feature tracks by Slayer, Our Lady Peace and others. That CD is set for release in Spring of 2002. -An update from Trish Stratus has been posted discussing Trish's commercial shoot just days after her surgery. To read the update, click http://www.trishstratus.com/news/default.asp?aID=938 -Ken Shamrock was on "THE SMACK!" with is a radio/internet show. The big news coming out of this interview was that Shamrock said once his new MMA promotion is up and running, he will be returning to the WWF. -Smackdown! tied at No. 59 with reruns of Fox's "Cops 2"' and NBC's "Three Sisters." Source// 1Wrestling, WWF.com ====================================================================== News from WCW-ECW//=================================================== -Nothing at this time Source// ====================================================================== News from the rest of pro-wrestling//================================= -Due to a Nielsen Media Research problem, ratings for Monday night have been delayed. No word on when they will be available. -RFVIDEO.com reports that Buff Bagwell is in no trouble after refusing to lose to Steve Corino at last weekend's MECW show at the ECW arena. -Greg Oliver reports that MatRats are very close to a television show and virtually guaranteed PPV time once they get it. Former WCW honcho Eric Bischoff is involved in the promotion as well as Executive Vice President of Development for MatRats, and sitting on the Board of Directors. Bischoff was previously quoted as saying MatRats was "the most exciting thing I have seen in sports entertainment in 10 years." In his July 28th Winnipeg Sun column, Don 'Cyrus' Callis announced that he and former ECW announcer Joey Styles have been tagged to to be part of the broadcast team for the PPV. "I am looking forward to it, as this is a product I am very excited about," Callis wrote. It is hard now to see one edition of Smackdown without seeing at least a Hardcore match, whereas on occasion you'll get a Table match added in, or another variety of match. While, on a short-term basis, this can improve ratings, as there is more for the fan to watch (what would you rather see - Steve Blackman versus Crash or Steve Blackman versus Crash in a Hardcore match?), but in the long run can in my opinion, cause problems. For example, while this method might increase ratings for now, what happens when they slump again? More stipulated matches will come about, and then wrestling will get to the point where the fans are not satisfied by a straight one-on-one any more. When that does happen, (and it seems like it will sooner or later) wrestling will basically double back on itself and degenerate. The WWF was popular back in the days of Koko B. Ware and Kamala and such not because they wrestled in outlandish matches with abnormal rules - but because the fans were happy with one-on-ones and occasional tag matches, as they had not seen the likes of the Hell in a Cell match and all of its stipulated compadres. Stipulated matches can be compared to a young child and violent movies - at first, the child is scared out of his mind, but the more and more he watches, the more de-sensitized he becomes to it, and this fate will soon happen in the wrestling industry if action is not taken to revive straight matches, not only at main event level, but all the way through the card. My memory defies me but it was either last year's or the one before's King of the Ring, that had by far the most over-stipulated match I can remember - the 3 on 2 Table/Dumpster match between the Dudleyz and Road Dogg, X-Pac and Tori (I think). To prove my point, this match was severely hyped to my recollection, in an attempt to get more viewers using the same method as I have described. Had this match lived up to the expectations of a nation of WWF marks, as it should have done, I think this problem would have been far greater than already is now. As it happened, the match, and the PPV sucked, and a few people got to thinking that stipulations aren't all that necessary to sell a match. The match would have sold on its own merits due to the competitors and accompanying story line that had been building up for some time, yet WWF wanted to go the extra mile. But in going that extra mile they collapsed of dehydration. And if the WWF and the wrestling industry as a whole keep going that extra mile, it'll look like suicide on the death certificate. ====================================================================== Remember...=========================================================== -Remember that if you've missed any TV Shows, PPV's or more?
