" BY SAMJERRY - VISIT MY HOME PAGE: http://members.aol.samjerry With the WCW/ECW (Alliance) InVasion Angle now in its second month, it seems appropriate to look at who has benefited from it and who has not. Following are six of the top people and how I see them as having been impacted. 1. Mr. T's unclaimed brother, WCW Champion Spinadoodie: He has been given more air time than a Michael Jordan jump shot. For reasons known only to him, he has decided to keep the Buckwheat look he was using in his Old WCW (RIP) days. As a famous orator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, said recently, "You don't need to win to be getting a push." He has lost the WCW Title once officially, and about six times unofficially (the referees were out to the little boys room when Spinadoodie was either tapping for dear life or pinned for a count of 150). On the 08/06/01 Edition of RAW, he was seen in a series of vignettes trying out for a part in a movie. He has been the major benefactor of a the lack of many big names from Old WCW. Where are Slick Ric, Sting, Poppa Steriod, and even $oldberg when you need them? 2. Dirtbag Doophus Page: Has been given an angle that he needed no practice to play: A scum bag stalker. Talk about casting to type! For reasons known only to Emperor Vince and his bookers, he has been given much more exposure than he deserves. This has limited exposure of more deserving people (anyone who walks upright). One can only hope that after The Undertaker stuffs him up his own Candy Ass at SummerSlam, we wont have to see him as often. 3. Jerry Lynn: For reasons known only to The Emperor, he has been relegated to Metal and Heat. While not as flashy as some others, he is as technically sound as anyone and capable of putting on a great match. He showed some of this on the 08/05/01 Edition of Heat. All The Emperor need do is look as tapes of his ECW matches v. Rob Van Dam (RVD) to get an idea of how talented he is. 4. Rob Van Dam: What more needs be said about RVD, Mr. Monday Night, The Whole F'N Show? IMHO the best wrestler in the world today. He has shown flashes of what he is capable of. In fact, he has been asked to tone his act down a little. The "official" reason is that it will lengthen his career, however, there are words that some of the other wrestlers are concerned that they can't do the things he does. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. He now has the WWF Hardcore Title, but he will be World Champion sooner than later. 5. Curt Angle: His biography should be titled, "From heel to face in one easy lesson." He has gone from Zero to Hero. IMHO the best pure wrestler today. He has it all talent, charisma, etc., to be World Champion for a long time. A dream match that I would like to see him in would be against Ken Shamrock. The absence of HHH gave him the chance to be top heel. He showed he could handle it, and now he is being given a push towards top face. 6. Taz(z): The InVasion took him away from his color man spot on Heat and SmackDown, much to his chagrin. On the flip side it will have a chance to show why he was feared in ECW. The only question is, will his size hurt him? My guess is it will not. He is built like the proverbial bowling ball and this could even work to his advantage.
