Thanks for reading. naidO// ====================================================================== TOP HEADLINE//======================================================== Dave Scherer reports that an informed WWF source said that the new WWF timeslot (Saturday nights on TNN) will NOT be the home of a WCW program, as speculated. The WWF knows that the slot, while better than airing in the morning, is not strong enough to be the sole spot for a promotion. Plus, with the way that the Alliance angle has picked up the WWF, they are most probably not splitting it away from the WWF any time soon. Livewire and Superstars have become passé, so the new slot will now be used for, basically, whatever the WWF needs it for. It also gives them the capability to go live with the show, if need be, and reach their audience should something happen after TV is taped on Tuesday and they need to get the word out. Source// 1Wrestling ====================================================================== RATINGS//============================================================= The ratings are in and the 7/30 edition of Raw is War was another winner, with Raw doing a 5.7 cable rating (with a 9.1 share) off of hours of 5.2 and 6.1. The overrun, with the return of the Rock, did a whopping 7.1. That is up from last week's 5.4. Here are the quarters: HOUR 1: 4.6, 5.0, 5.4 & 5.6 HOUR 2: 5.8, 5.7, 6.0 & 6.4 OVERUN: 7.1 Weekend Ratings: *Livewire did a 0.9 cable rating, which was up from last week's 0.7 cable rating. *Superstars did a 0.9 cable rating, which is the same as last week's 0.9 cable rating. *Heat did a 1.5 cable rating, which is down from last week's 1.7. *The Heat replay did a 1.2 cable rating, with a 2 share. That is up from last week's 0.9. *The 7/26 edition of Smackdown scored a 4.3 broadcast rating. *The 7/26 episode of Tough Enough did 2.1 cable rating. This was a trait that DDP had in his WCW days and has seemed to be a tough habit to break. -Speaking of DDP, If you watched the run-in where Dallas Page hit the ring during the main event last night, you may have seen that Sara had blood all over her arm after Page grabbed her. That is because while running down the ramp during his run-in, he tripped and smacked his head busting it open. -The Nature Boy Ric Flair recently appeared on the radio show "Pro Wrestling Weekly". During the show Flair made comments that supported Vince McMahon's acquisition of WCW. Flair also went on to say that he hoped that he could work out a deal with the WWF to appear on WWF TV sometime soon. They have added three dates to the tour, which now starts on November 11. -Sid Vicious was recently seen at the first annual Dahlonega International Film Festival (www.d-i-f-f.com) where he was seen schmoozing with maverick director John Waters. Sid also just shot a commercial in Birmingham, Ala. for Jack's, a regional fast food chain. He choke slams a Tiger Woods look alike in the spot. -Ursula Hayden, the former "Farmer's Daughter," hopes seeds sown in the 90's will reap a bountiful harvest, with several big plans for the newly purchased Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. Among them, Hayden hopes to make GLOW's women wrestlers role models for younger girls once again. As of this writing, no deal has been reached between WWFE and DirecTV to another extension. The WWF stock went down 18.54% Tuesday from Monday's close. ====================================================================== Article//============================================================= Sheikie's no Joker A travesty of justice just occurred at the world famous Caroline's comedy club in New York City. The hosts of Get in the Ring radio program attended the show hoping to see the Iron Sheik perform comedy as reported on many websites. A man claiming to be the Iron Sheik hit the stage using a fake accent delivered the worst comedic performance ever. He went on to claim that his whole "Iron Sheik" persona was a work, and started talking like a regular New Yorker. The Phantom and Sir Adam confronted this fraud after the show, and the imposter still claimed to be the Sheik. After getting out of the club The Phantom and Sir Adam called the real Iron Sheik at his home in Atlanta and told him what had just occurred. He will be appearing on Get in the Ring Radio show this Sunday to talk about this situation, and hopefully confront his imposter.
