For you Tough Enough fans, the show received a 2.1 rating. -WWF.com has posted an article on Kurt Angle's experience at Smackdown, which included winning the WCW Heavyweight Title. Although down from the 2.3 scored last week, the show remains steady on it's 2.1 average over six weeks. -Here's an early Raw is War preview: Hour 1: The Rock returns... Hour 2: But for who? WWF or the Alliance? -This year's Survivor Series, taking place November 18, is tentatively scheduled for Greensboro, North Carolina in the Greensboro Coliseum. The show will be broadcast live on Monday night from the First Union Center in Philadelphia on TNN at 9:00pm ET. During his hiatus, The Rock filmed a new Hollywood action epic, ``The Scorpion King,'' based on the role he portrayed in the movie blockbuster, ``The Mummy Returns.'' "We've had a tremendous couple of months with the WCW/ECW storyline and our Invasion pay-per-view last Sunday. Fan interest continues to increase on a weekly basis and we believe that The Rock's return will further increase the visibility of our programs and our brand,'' said Stuart Snyder, President and COO of World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc. ``This Monday will be a very special night for the World Wrestling Federation and our millions of fans.'' Last Monday, Raw is War achieved a 5.4 rating / 9 share in 4,344,000 households, according to Nielsen Media Research. Household ratings grew consistently quarter-hour to quarter-hour, ranging from a 4.5 to a 6.1. The Rock's return couldn't come at a better time as the battle for supremacy in sports entertainment continues between the World Wrestling Federation and the WCW/ECW Alliance. The recent defection of World Wrestling Federation Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin to ``The Alliance'' has further complicated matters. In order to control what is becoming a chaotic situation, World Wrestling Federation fans are counting on The Rock to reconcile with World Wrestling Federation Chairman Mr. McMahon - the man who helped steal the World Wrestling Federation title from him and handed it to Austin at WrestleMania X- Seven. Now, Mr. McMahon needs The Rock to help fend off ``The Alliance.'' Can The Rock put aside their differences for the good of The Federation or will he join Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon- Helmsley and Stone Cold Steve Austin to help them destroy the World Wrestling Federation and take over the sports entertainment industry? ====================================================================== Article//============================================================= Ross Report Highlights *The Rock will be on Raw and Smackdown next week in Philadelphia and Washington, as well as the San Diego House Show on August 5th. *Steve Austin will continue with the "paranoid" angle and further develop the "Stone Cold" character. *The announcing jobs have been addressed and changes are coming. *Diamond Dallas Page, Crash Holly, Test, Big Show, and The Goodfather are in Puerto Rico with IWA until Saturday. *House shows in Syracuse and Wilkes-Barre this weekend have weak ticket sales but hopefully will pick up. *About a dozen of the WCW wrestlers picked up by the WWF that haven't been used will be sent to Heartland Wrestling Association (HWA) which is run by Les Thatcher. *Dean Malenko, Molly Holly, and Jerry Lynn are helping to do training in Ohio Valley (OVW). *The Big Bossman could become a coach/trainer for some of the WWF developmental territories. *Ross stated he was less than thrilled at how Chris Kanyon got the U.S Title but that must be due to his old school mentality. *Al Snow will remain as the color commentator on "Sunday Night Heat". *Nathan Jones is having trouble with visa issues in his native Australia and if they are not handled promptly, his WWF future could be put on hold. Jones is a former World's Strongest Man and is 6'10 and 300Ibs. Jones is currently with OVW. *WWF has had talks with Sharmel Sullivan (Paisley in WCW) and may come to OVW. *Teased William Regal as a possible future color commentator. *Steve Blackman has recovered from hip surgery. *Contrary to reports, there is no heat between Ross and Booker T and the comparisons Ross makes of him to Ric Flair are strictly for storyline purposes. *Bradshaw is working with the Dallas Morning News' Cody Monk on a stock investment book, no word on the release of the book. *Trish Stratus and Tazz will be filming a Stacker 2 commercial. *The Big Show is headed to Malaysia from August 8-10 for a promotional tour. *Ken Shamrock may be returning to the WWF in the future. *Members of the WWF and The Alliance will be on hand for the August 9th Brian Pillman show in Cincinnati. *Shawn Michaels will be on hand for first day ticket sales and media appearances in Winnipeg on August 10th and 11th. *Chris Benoit will be on hand for first day ticket sales for Smackdown in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre when tickets go on sale, August 11th at 11am. ====================================================================== Comment//============================================================= Screw Job Of the Week - by Ted Cabata I really like when there are PPV's because it ALWAYS gives me something to write about. This PPV was no different. I think everyone already knows who is going to win this week, but there were a few other events worth mentioning. First thanks to some alliance help lance Storm is the IC Champ. I must say i was jumping for joy on that one. Next Booker T in a matter of 2 hours lost both of his titles, one he gave away to Kanyon and one he lost to Kurt Angle. So now the man who is supposed to be WCW's leader is empty handed. Now let's go back to Invasion and...forget it, we all know what happened so this week's winner is... Stone Cold Steve Austin Austin took the WWF Title to WCW he turned his back on everyone, I think it's pretty obvious why he is this week's winner. I really enjoyed watching it, although I'd rather have the hug giving song singing Austin over the paranoid Austin, but oh well I like him as a heel. Now we have SummerSlam to look forward to and the return of the Rock. Should be interesting.
