Sources we have spoken to tell us the trustee is leery of Acclaim's contention, and has doubts as to the authenticity of the transactions that resulted in them being listed as owed the money they claim to be owed. One source, who is familiar with the Acclaim deal had this to say. "The court would be wise to take a good look at the entire Acclaim situation. ECW entered into a deal to license their video game, and because ECW was in a financial jam at the time they had no leverage and had to make whatever concessions Acclaim insisted on. The result was, Acclaim fronted some money to ECW and was given a 15% ownership in the company. The real question for the trustee to ask is....did Acclaim pay any royalty payments to ECW from the sale of the video games? The answer to that question could make the entire Acclaim house of cards fall apart. What Acclaim insists was a loan that resulted in their being made a secured creditor was in reality probably an advance on royalties." ECW was known to make deals like that to make ends meet. The company was in such a dire financial situation that they were willing to agree to just about anything to get enough money to make a few payrolls or to pay for production costs for a pay per view. Was it a secured loan? Was it payment for Acclaim's 15% ownership equity in ECW? Was it an advance on royalty payments? Those are the questions the bankruptcy court will have to deal with when they decide the validity of Acclaim's bid to get control of ECW's assets. Of course, there are no matches, but it's always nice to check out the history section, photos and more. -Today's issue of the UK's Media Guardian has a story reporting that the WWF's British television clearance on Channel 4 is about to be lost due to concerns over the "increasingly extreme nature" of the WWF product. The paper reported that Channel 4 confirmed yesterday that when their contract with the WWF expires in December, they will not make any attempt to renew it. Channel 4 stated the fact that they have had a harder and harder time editing the program down to what they feel is suitable to air on their station due to the excess violence on the show, as well as the way that women are treated and portrayed on the broadcasts. The British market is a very lucrative one for the WWF. Before airing on Channel 4, they broadcasted on Sky TV. The WWF needs to replace their British outlet in order to run the two PPV shows that they run in the UK every year. The WWF is probably not upset about this story since Channel 4 has not exactly made the airing of WWF shows a top priority. They have aired PPVs on a delay, and moved Heat all around the schedule. WWFE would then have to work out a deal with Annodeus, Inc. a division of Acclaim, for the rights as opposed to the temporary deal through the end of the month already worked out with the trustee. Other ECW creditors are likely out of luck when it comes to transaction, although they were likely out of luck to begin with. A solid show all the way through with some good surprises. All right, I bow in servitude to those who picked SCSA as the traitor. I guess it was almost too obvious to pick the Zero, wasn't it? Anyway, as soon as Austin hit the ring with the ref, something told me it was over. Anyway, I want to talk about four people this week. Two that look downright awful, one that made a big splash, and one that finally got a little recognition; even though it may be too late. When Austin did join up with the coalition, or the alliance, or whatever the hell they're calling it this week, I have to admit: I thought it was well planned. You had Austin back to his bad self, and Rock would have his revenge angle playing again. But then, when Puss 3:16 returned on Raw, I had finally had enough. Puss 3:16 isn't even strong enough anymore. First off, the repect angle was played 5 years ago. You are NOT Hogan, and you WEREN'T being interviewed by Green Bean Okerlund. You are without a doubt, the biggest loser I have ever seen. SCSA is dead. Only Loser 3:16 remains. I will not refer to you as SCSA anymore, or Austin, or even god forbid, the Rattlesnake. That's because your character doesn't even remotely resemble what it used to. Just do me a big favor, and take a long walk off a short pier you loser!! And speaking of loser, how about Booker Q? If I was this chump, I'd be pretty upset about how my character has been made into nothing more than a professional version of Darryl from "Tough Enough". Here's a little known fact for you: How many clean wins has Booker Q had since joining up with the WWF? Answer: ZERO. This guy is supposed to be the WCW champion, yet needs someone to save him in every match. And what was with those chops on Smackdown? I'm only going to say this once, and I'll say it nice and slow for you: YOU ARE NOT RIC FLAIR!!! The only thing more pathetic than this guy is Loser 3:16, and you see that Loser is already stabbing Booker in the back. The best thing to come out of Invasion was the emergence of Mr. Monday Night, Mr. PPV, The Whole F'N Show, R.V.D. It was just awesome seeing Van Dam perform his magic in the ring. The match with Hardy is a sure fire contender for match of the year. Memo to WCW slobs...er..wrestlers. If you want to know how to entertain a crowd, just watch Rob Van Dam. You just might learn something. And lastly, how about the Olympic Hero/Zero? What a pop for him in Pittsburgh. Funny, last time he was there, everyone hated him. Oh, that selective memory again. I love the way his character has developed the last couple of weeks, and it was refreshing to see someone other than the normal big names taking charge and kicking ass. Best sight of the week: Angle with the WCW title in his hands. Problem with all of this is: Rock comes back on Monday, so Angle was thrown a bone. Goodbye main event, hello secondary matches. All in all, the storylines are going pretty well. Now if we can just find a way to get rid of the WCW guys, and focus more on the ECW guys, it would make for even better shows. Ya think? ====================================================================== Comment//============================================================= ROUNDING THE SQUARED CIRCLE "WITH DEEPEST REGRETS" BY SAMJERRY It is with my deepest regrets and heavy heart that I must report the passing of SamJerry's computer. The end came early in the evening of Friday, July 13, 2001, as it rested peacefully. Regrettably it was alone at the time, but it appears not to have suffered. It was a young computer, barely four years of age. In it's short life it endured a lightning hit, a failed CD Drive and the pain of two broken keyboards. An autopsy revealed that the death was the result of a massive Hard Drive Attack. Viewing was held at the Acme Mortuary and Ice Cream Company in Beautiful Downtown Lower Dudleyville. Services were conducted by Reverend Billy Joe Bob Dudley. Interment was at the Acme Cemetery and Salt Mine, across the tracks in Upper Dudleyville. Big Daddy Dudley gave a stirring eulogy at the grave site, pointing out all the hard hitting material it had produced. There were many tear stained faces as the services ended, including Sam who cried hardest (it belonged to her). As the seasons change, so does life go on. Sam now has a new computer (not that it will ever replace the recent departed), and is much richer for it (actually she is much poorer as she just paid for it). Let's hope it provides her as much comfort as the old one did (and me time to write on it). With it firmly in place, I can resume writing, knowing how much you have missed me the past two weeks. ====================================================================== Remember...=========================================================== -Remember that if you've missed any TV Shows, PPV's or more?
