Other parties can make counter offers on the assets, and in doing so if they were to secure the name, WWF would be given notice it could no longer use the ECW name and trademarks. However, many are still skeptical as he shined on as a baby face during his matchup by bowing and "R-V-D" motioning. You can read it by clicking http://www.amishroadkill.com/2/comm5.asp -On the "Total Chaos with Jim Valley" show Roddy Piper confirmed publicly that he has been talking with Hulk Hogan about a new wrestling league. He says there are many great young wrestlers not under contract to the WWF who just need an opportunity and a platform to display their skills. He talked about a "channel" and "pay-per- view" but didn't give those specifics. He implied that the concept is to combine the knowledge, experience and notoriety of wrestlers like himself and Hogan with the talent and hunger of the younger wrestlers and use that spotlight to build the younger guys up. Source// 1wrestling ====================================================================== Article//============================================================= JR's review of Invasion & more On a scale of one to 10, I thought Invasion was a solid six, maybe a seven. The storyline going into it had really picked up a lot of momentum over the last couple of weeks. The Cleveland audience was very enthusiastic and they seemed to enjoy what they were seeing. We had some matches with some inexperienced guys -- some "green" talent - - that you would have hoped to have been better. That could have raised the score to a seven or an eight. All in all, I'd like to believe that everybody got their money's worth. I have a hard time agreeing that the show was a thumbs-down in anybody's estimation, but I'm very close to the product. I know how hard everyone prepared. I know how much the matches meant to all the individual talent. Unfortunately, some of the critical fans don't. I hope they're not being too critical because they're not close to it. At the same time, I hope I'm not being too protective of it because I'm too close to it. We've all got our perspectives. The show had some very bright things and a sign of good things to come. Some people on that card really began to stand out; that's what we're looking for. Guys like Rob Van Dam, Kanyon, Lance Storm and Mike Awesome. We need those guys to get better, just like all of us need to get better. We realize that the ideal announcing team is not J.R. and Michael Cole. It's as if it's a revelation to some fans that that's not the perfect combination. We know that. We knew that before we did it. Fans are accomsted to a humorous Jerry "The King" Lawler type color guy, or a caustic, controversial character like Paul Heyman. I'll admit, J.R.'s not the best color guy in the business. Not even close. But that's the role that I'm called upon to perform at this moment. Michael Cole is more comfortable doing play-by-play. The long-term solution, obviously, is to develop color announcers or to get color announcers who are more qualified than Michael or I. People can say, "Well, put Heyman back out there." Fine. I have no problem with that if it fits in the storyline. That's not my decision. They'll say, "Well, get the King back." I'm not disagreeing with that either. Again, not my decision. Other issues are involved in that whole decision-making process. When people are having issues with announcing, I take it to heart because I care. Those criticms are heard, understood, and agreed with. But right now we're playing with the hand we're dealt. A lot of guys are sore, but we don't have any more structural injuries. Stone Cold Steve Austin came through pretty well for a guy in his condition. It was amazing what he did with three broken bones in his back and two broken bones in his hand. It sets up RAW IS WAR very well. Overall I felt good about Invasion. Good, solid show. Good, solid six. He then went on to critique each match. You can read his thoughts on them by clicking http://www.wwf.com/news/rossreport/?page=3 He then ended his commentary with the following: Internet fans are certainly more versed in what goes on than the casual fans. But casual fans -- who certainly outnumber the Internet fans -- are going to see that Austin turned his back on them. We hope it will give them the motivation to want to see Austin get his ass kicked. There are a lot of Internet fans that believe that Austin's value is more as the old Stone Cold. Who's to say that's never going to happen again? I'd be very surprised if that never happened again. But it's not going to happy any time soon. Steve is comfortable in this area. It certainly gives Shane and Stephanie's alliance a great deal of credibility. So I think in that match we accomplished several things that were very positive. Was it a smooth match? Was it flawless? Of course not. But a match is rarely flawless, even when you have two guys much less 10.
