Thanks for reading. naidO// ====================================================================== TOP HEADLINE//======================================================== -Backstage at last week's RAW in Atlanta, GA, there was some serious talk to bring in Eric Bischoff for the following night's Smackdown tapings in Birmingham, AL, to use in the invasion angle. The plan was for Bischoff to shoot an angle, making a match between himself and Vince at Invasion, where Vince would come out on top. The angle was expected to add huge interest to the PPV and increase the buyrate severely. After the PPV there was never a plan to use Bischoff again, which is why one source believes that is why Bischoff turned the offer down, although publicly he claimed an offer was never made. On their website at WWF.com in the T.V recap for Raw, they refer to WCW/ECW as WECW, which may be the name they go by for now on. Despite those references, there are a lot of ECW references in the report as well. -The trustee in the ECW bankruptcy case has now ordered Paul Heyman to appear for examination. Heyman has been ordered to turn over the company's books and records. Apparently, they have been requesting Heyman to turn over the records ever since June 25th. Source// The Law, Dave Meltzer, ====================================================================== News from WCW//======================================================= -If there aren't different TV shows for the two entities soon, it looks like that the majority of remaining wrestlers who were originally among the 24 contracted WCW wrestlers, may have to be cut. The remaining wrestlers who haven't appeared on TV yet, are mostly cruiserweights (eg. Jung Dragons, 3-Count, Kwee Wee, etc), and they will not have a spot because there are already about 50 wrestlers used between RAW and Smackdown. -Before Buff Bagwell was fired, he was said to be the major focus of some ribbing by the WWF locker room because his mother, the infamous Judy Bagwell, called up WWF offices to complain about travelling arrangements. The WWF wrestlers even had a bet going to see how long Bagwell lasted in the company. -Regarding the High Morrus/Mark Jindrak altercation, what happened was that the two were practising spots, and Jindrak apparently missed a few. Morrus then told Jindrak in a polite way what he was doing wrong, and Jindrak told Morrus he was a "fat slob who had never done anything in this business". Officials reportedly were left with a bad taste in their mouth regarding Jindrak's attitude. Mummy Returns also accomplished a rare feat of out-grossing the original film. -Joanie Lauer was interviewed in Sunday's Asbury Park Press (NJ). The opening line read: "The women who used to be known as Chyna, Joanie Laurie." She is appearing at a convention at the Meadowlands Convention Center. It is the type of convention that "B" stars goto. Another "celeb" attending is Jamie "Bionic Woman" Wagner amongst others. The article said she is "happy to have left the WWF as it will give her other opportunities for acting."
