Thanks for reading. naidO// ====================================================================== TOP HEADLINE//======================================================== -Bob Ryder, a creditor in the ECW bankruptcy case that is owed $11,700, is reporting some of the creditors involved with the case may seek an emergency hearing in hopes of preventing the WWF from broadcasting next Sunday's Invasion pay-per-view. ECW is still being advertised as part of the show. Source// 1Wrestling ====================================================================== News from the WWF//=================================================== -Currently on the WWF Invasion website, they have added some old WCW video's including footage of William Regal, Hulk Hogan joining the NWO, Chris Jericho, The Giant, and many others. Also on the site is footage of the original ECW invasion of the WWF back in 1997 at the Manhatten Center in New York. -At WWF house show this past weekend from Albany, NY and New Haven, CT, the WWF continued to use the name "ECW", which they were told not to use because of the fact that they don't own the trademarks. All eyes will be focused on what they do on tomorrow night's edition of Raw to see whether or not they continue using the ECW name. -Official RAW is WAR preview: Just six days remain until Invasion, and the stakes could not be higher! Tonight at 9/8 CT on TNN, RAW IS WAR emanates live from Providence, R.I., and the World Wrestling Federation, WCW and ECW will all be in the house! With the first interpromotional supercard on the horizon, tensions will be running high tonight on RAW! Last Thursday on SmackDown!, Vince McMahon told Steve Austin that he wanted the old Stone Cold to return -- the beer-swilling, finger- gesturing son of a gun who catapulted the Federation into the next millennium. Austin responded by walking out on the Federation chairman. Will the Federation Champion return tonight? And if so, will be be the old Stone Cold? Only one way to find out! Also, with Invasion on the horizon, you can be sure that Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and Paul Heyman are sure to have some surprises in store. It was reported by the Lehigh Valley News that Rock appeared at an indy show and said he broke his his leg. It was not the Rock, but rather Afa's nephew who works as Solo the Hamo Bull. Gonzalez was babysitting the 3 year old son of his girlfriend. "The boyfriend was doing wrestling moves on the little boy," said Lt. Duane Paul. "He dropped his elbow into his stomach area." Police said the boy's 23-year-old mother was at work at the time of her child's death. Lionel Tate is also brought up in teh story. Tate was sentenced to life in prison without parole in March. The reason I am at the computer at this late hour is that I just got home from wrestling in Nashville, Tennessee (about 200 miles from my home in Memphis) on Bert Prentice's annual Tojo Yamamoto Memorial Show. There was a great crowd on hand as well as a lot of "old" friends that I had not seen for some time. Wrestlers from the past were in attendance to meet and greet the fans. I must admit I had my camera out as well to get some shots of the guys that I used to watch on TV and some that were ending their careers just as I was beginning mine. Mid-South wrestling stars like Corsica Joe, Sara Lee, Don and Al Greene, George Gulas, Jerry Barber, Ronnie P. Gossett, Sylvia Hackney, Bald Eagle Paul Morton, and of course, the Fabulous Jackie Fargo were all there and looking great. Jackie Fargo was actually the special referee for my match. It was a very good night, and when I got home about 30 minutes ago, I just wasn't ready for bed. When i saw Tommy Dreamer jump over the gurad rail and start the ECW Invasion, I was jumping for joy. As I've said before I'm the biggest Tommy Dreamer mark so needless to say it was a happy moment for me. Now this whole ECW thing has totally overshadowed everything else that happened this week like the APA winning the tag titles. The way Spike interfered was definatly a worthy screw job but ECW has totally made that hardly worth mentioning. Sadly though things have happened just recently that have put this whole ECW Invasion in jeopardy. That's why this week's winner is... The U.S. District bankrupt Court. If you have missed it, the news is the WWF can't use the name ECW because of the bankrupt status of ECW...s parent compnay. The WWF is fighting it, but at this point it sadly looks as if the ECW Invasion may be gone come Monday. I hope not because i don't want to see the Courts screw us out of an incredible angle, but I can't see the WWF (or anyone for that matter) paying $8 million just to use the phrase ECW. I guess we will just have to wait and see and I hope this is a screw job that goes down as me being paranoid, but it doesn't look good right now. Til next week Comments?
