With the ECW angle last night, the WWF, at least in theory, lost both of their color commentators when both Tazz and Paul Heyman turned on the WWF and joined their old company. At this point, they need a color man in the worst way. Source// Dave Scherer ====================================================================== RATINGS//============================================================= *The 7/9 edition of Raw is War did a 4.7 rating with a 7.6 share, off of hours of 4.4 and 5.1. Overrun: 5.6. They reported that Jerry Lynn joined the ECW invasion instead of Rhyno. -The main event for Invasion is slated to be Austin, Angle, Taker, Kane and Chris Jericho versus Dudleys, DDP, RVD and Booker T. Tazz could be put in the place of RVD. -"Better and wiser, RVD helps re-launch ECW" is an article at WWF.com featuring RVD and him talking about ECW, RAW and more. It's a pretty good read and you can peep it by clicking http://www.wwf.com/news/headlines/1067155 -"Dream Come True for Dreamer" is an article at WWF.com on Tommy Dreamer and his being back with Paul and ECW. He should have a lot to say after what went down on Monday night, his "wife", ECW, WCW, his rehab status and more. Check out the article below. Source// ====================================================================== Article//============================================================= Massive talent report on free (and not so free) agents -Bill Goldberg: Goldberg is getting $1.3 million to sit at home and do absolutely nothing. There is also a clause that Bill will have to waive in his contract for it to be baught out. The WWF would have to pay double at this point to get him out and working. Goldberg is signed until September 2003. -Ric Flair: Flair is signed until March 2003 with possibly getting out in early 2002. However, he's getting $800,000 a year to stay home. And at his age, that's pretty good (he'll be 53 going on 54 at the end of his current contract). -Sting: All signs are pointing t him retiring from wrestling. His contract expires around April 2002 and barring a miracle, he's done. Back in march, he was saying that he was there only because it was WCW's last show. -Hulk Hogan: Without knowing that he's trying to start his own promotion, consider that he was making very good coin with his old contract and would want to make millions if Vince were to sign him. The odds of him coming in are slim, but never say never. If he can still draw, it'll be by name alone. There were rumors in March that he was to be brought in to face HHH at WrestleMania but his asking price was too high. -Kevin Nash: Nash will be busy collecting his $1.6 million dollar contract from AOL until December 30th. After then, who knows. Word has been up for weeks that Hall is waiting for January when he and Nash wil go to stamoford and ask for work. Again, never say never. -Scott Steiner: Steiner's current contract runs to the end of the year and there's a strong possibility that he'll be brought in once it's up. However, with his heel injury, he won't come in until it's fully healed. -Bret Hart: Hart is not returning to wrestling and especially not for Vince McMahon. -Jeff Jarrett: Even though he's as hard a worker as there is out there. Probably still the top five that are active, the WWF, and especially Vince will not sign him. Mainly because of the way he left the WWF by holding the IC title up and asking for six figures at the PPV he droped the title to Chyna at. I say, if the WWF is in dire straights, they'll sign him. Especially with a built in storyline laying in wait. Jarrett's current contract runs out in October. -Konnan: If he hasn't been signed by now, odds are he never will be. -Rey Mysterio Jr.: His being friends with Konnan, his size, and being signed until January 2002 making 7 figures are reasons enough to keep him out. -Shane Douglas: The term "never burn your bridges, because you'll never know when you need to cross them again." never meant more than what it does to Mr. Douglas. Don't look to see his face on TV soon, or ever. I think this one is safe to say never as hi burned bridges with Heyman and more importantly, McMahon. Douglas is signed until April 2002. -Vampiro: See Konnan. -Lex Luger: See Konnan. -Randy Savage and basically any fomer WCW men you haven't seen on WWF TV: See Konnan. -Sabu: He's been available for the better part of two years yet nothing. He's got that lawsuit tied up in court with Heyman, he's banged up and blowing spots and double booking indy shows and not showing up. Not the kind of thing you need to impress the offices. Dont' look for him to come in. -The Sandman: Before the ECW invasion came about, the thought would be never. if there's anyone who's ECW, it's Fullington. However, Heyman hates the man and with paul in Vince's ear, he'll hate him just as much. He'd make a great choice to bring in if all else fails so don't be surprised if he shows up in the crowd with cane and beer in hand. Some others I myself have seen around the net: -The Cat: Miller is seems content to sit at home until late 2002 and collect his money. He's currently teaching karate classes in his home town. The WWF hasn't been interested anyway. -Kimberly Page She's signed until March 2002, afterwhich, she's a free agent. There's no rush to get he in now, even though a Undertaker "stalker" story is ready for the taking. It's a short time away and the WF would like DDP to get over without her. Wrestling ====================================================================== Comment//============================================================= ROUNDING THE SQUARED CIRCLE "THE THRILL IS BACK" OR "I WANT MY ECW!" BY SAMJERRY@AOL.COM Visit My Home Page At: http://members.aol.com/samjerry It's been 36 hours since the RAW that shook the wrestling world. Recognizing that The New WCW was being accepted as well as fleas at The Westminster Kennel Club, Emperor McMahon gave us what we wanted - he gave us ECW. There wasn't even a hint that this was coming. Keeping something this big secret in itself is amazing. While it's only an angle and we wont see a lot of ECW's real Hardcore action, it's great to get something we really want to see. It's not often that I get excited at something that happens in wrestling, but this excited me. From the reports I have been reading I am not alone. Those of us who were fans of ECW came to love the brand of wrestling Paul Heyman gave us. We loved the action and the intensity of the wrestlers. While every match may not have been great, we know that the competitors gave 100% in every match. Compare that to what we saw in WCW where often it looked like they were just going thru the motions. The New WCW has already dumped a piece of deadwood, Buffy "The Empire Killer" Bagwell. No sooner did WCW get off the ground and he was up to his own tricks; bitching about how his matches were set up, feigning how bad an injury was and his mama calling to complain about his travel arrangements. There is no way I can imaging guys like Tazz, Tommy Dreamer, Little Spike Dudley, etc., etc., pulling crap like that. If WCW is to rise from the ashes, it needs the kind of dedication that we saw in the "Old ECW." It's no secret that the first couple of WCW matches were the perfect cure for insomnia. The crowds chanted "boring" and other than that, you could hear a pin drop in the arena. When WCW Champion Booker T met Our American Olympic Zero in WCW's old hometown, the crowd popped and cheered for Zero. I think they would have reacted the same no matter who represented the WWF against Booker. WCW just wasn't going to happen. Coming up with the idea of resurrecting ECW was a stroke of genius. It's ECW the people want, not WCW. By putting ECW with WCW, and naming Princess Sweetness and Light as the new owner of ECW, Emperor McMahon has snatched victory from defeat. The rebirth of ECW took Paul Heyman away from the announcers position and opened the spot for ... the return of The King. The latest word is that Jerry Lawler and the WWF have finally kissed and made up. They had a deal in place for King of the Ring, but it fell apart at the last second. Hopefully this time it is solid and we will see The King back where he belongs. This could also help the horrendous WCW announcing team of Blot Hudson and Old Arn. This week on RAW the WWF had Blot in the back and gave him a powder puff interview with luscious pair of Torrie Wilson and Legs Kiebler (Not bad work if you can get it). Old Arn was nowhere to be seen or heard, a blessing beyond belief. If Blot is going to be the WCW play-by-play man, he needs a strong color man. Should The King do double duty, or go to WCW, he will make a world of difference. Too bad The Emperor couldn't reach an agreement with Joey Styles for the announcers spot. With ECW in the ring and Joey Baby calling the action, life would be good. Anyone know Joel "The Quintessential Stud Muffin" Gertner's phone number? What a week this is: The best RAW of all time; the rebirth of ECW; and possibly the return of The King. With ECW in the locker room alongside WCW, hopefully their work ethic will rub off. There are many good wrestlers in WCW who were used to working alongside prima donnas, and are now part of WWFE and working with ECW types. Maybe WCW can be saved after all. It certainly has a better chance today than it did two days ago. In closing all I can say is, "ECW, ECW, ECW ... EC-F'N-W!" ====================================================================== Remember...=========================================================== -Remember that if you've missed any TV Shows, PPV's or more?
