Thanks for reading. naidO// ====================================================================== TOP HEADLINE//======================================================== -Although Jerry Lawler and WWF sources both continue to say there is no deal yet, within the WWF it's being considered virtually certain that Lawler will be back on WWFE TV this summer, although perhaps not until the WCW relaunch. Sources say Jim Ross is expressly open to either working WCW Nitro (or whatever they call it on Monday night) or WWF Smackdown on Thursday nights, although it's no secret Ross would rather work with Jerry Lawler than Paul Heyman. An angle could take place where Ross ends up jumping to WCW, joined by Lawler, who plays up how he and his wife were unfairly treated by Vince McMahon. By the way, the Michael Cole angle last week was not WCW-related, but was just done to establish Steve Austin as a bully. Internet show this Friday afternoon. The show takes place every Friday afternoon on WWF.com from 4-5pm ET. -Official SmackDown! preview: To Vince McMahon, Madison Square Garden is hallowed ground. For over 50 years, the Garden has been the World Wrestling Federation's home away from home, and it has housed many of the most memorable and magical moments in Federation history. But on Monday's RAW, that changed forever. For the first time, WCW stars stepped foot into MSG, making Mr. McMahon irate. This Thursday's episode of UPN's SmackDown! will also emanate from the Garden, and one can only wonder if Shane McMahon's WCW will make their presence felt! Several matches have already been signed for Thursday's show, including a pair of title matches. Kane will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Albert of X-Factor, while the Hardy Boyz challenge the Dudley Boyz for the Tag Team Championship in an elimination table match! Also on SmackDown!, the 2001 King of the Ring -- Edge -- teams with Christian against Billy Gunn and X-Pac! Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Trish Stratus and Commissioner William Regal will also be in the house this Thursday on UPN -- it's SmackDown! Check your local listings for time and channel! -During in a non-televised promo, Paul Heyman put over growing up and watching wrestling at MSG and mentioned seeing Bruno, Putski, Santana and Hogan. The name Hogan got a huge pop. Super heat for all the interpromotional stuff. -WWF Raw at MSG drew 13,763 paid for $451,138, billed as an official sellout. Last night for Smackdown, also billed as an official sellout, drew 11,772 paid for $393,190. Total merchandise sales for both nights combined was $156,851, or about $6 per person per night overall. -The Hollywood Reporter confirmed late last week that the new release date for The Rock's next movie, "The Scorpion King," will be April 19, 2002. This also keeps it a couple of weeks ahead of Spider-Man. -Catch week two of 'Tough Enough' Tune into the premiere of "WWF Tough Enough" tomorrow at 10 p.m. ET on MTV after the conclusion of SmackDown! The cast of 13 will begin their journey in pursuit of their dream - becoming a Federation Superstar. Check out WWFToughEnough.com for more information! -The WWF reported their fiscal fourth-quarter financial numbers today and announced a 2002 revenue outlook that exceeded market expectations. They announced that for the quarter ending in April of 2001, they posted a net loss of $20.41 million. That equates to a 28 cents per share loss for stockholders. That actually came in under analysts expectations, which was for a loss of 30 cents per share. The WWF stated that they lost $46.9 million on the now defunct XFL. Of that money, $10.7 million was in non-cash charges from the sale of stock to NBC. Net revenue for the quarter was $131.1 million, which is up 13 percent from last year. WCW Superstars battle for championships this Saturday in Spokane, Washington. Chavo Guerrero challenges Shane Helms for the Cruiserweight Championship and Booker T puts his WCW Championship on the line against Buff Bagwell! Tickets prices range from $15 to $40 and may be purchased by phone at (509) 325-SEAT. -Scott Hudson is being brought in this week to WWF headquarters and is expected to be offered an announcing position for the WCW show. Source// WCW.com, Dave Meltzer ====================================================================== News from the rest of pro-wrestling//================================= -Elektra talks about herself in Playboy: Elektra and the rest of the Bada Bing girls were on The Radio Chick Show on WNEW (Chick airs in the morning, Opie & Anthony are on the same station in the afternoons). They were plugging their Playboy pictorial which is now on newsstands. Most of the conversation was focused on "The World's Smartest Stripper" Nadine (a Chick regular) but the hosts did briefly speak to Elektra. - She said she wrestled for ECW and would like to hook up with the WWF or the new WCW. - She's afraid that the WWF might not hire her now because of the spread. The Chick said she's surprised at that and thought posing would help her career. Elektra said the WWF sets up their own Playboy shoots (with Chyna and Sable) and probably won't be happy that she did this on her own. - She said she had to lose some muscle mass for the Playboy shoot because Playboy wanted her to be smoother. The hosts cracked jokes about how Chyna looked like a man and said Elektra is hotter and more feminine. - A caller asked Elektra to show the hosts what she can do with her breasts. She flexes her pecs like she used to do in ECW, making her breasts bounce. The hosts were very impressed, to say the least. - Co-host Butch started hitting on Elektra and challenged her to a wrestling match. He said he's wrestled women in the past on the show and, although he's never won, he always gets their top off. Elektra promised to wrestle him the next time she was on the show. - They made fun of Belinda Carlisle, who's on the cover of their Playboy. Everyone agrees that these girls should have been on the cover instead because they're much hotter.
