Thanks for reading. naidO// ====================================================================== TOP HEADLINE//======================================================== -In a WCW.com story that was published today concerning Mike Awesome's WCW-WWF debut, author Seth Mates wrote that Mike Awesome left ECW as the company's champion in April of 2000 to sign with WCW because he was not under contract to ECW when he made the jump. At the time of the jump, ECW proved Awesome was under contract to them when they produced a copy of Awesome's contract with the company. The WCW.com original story played it up as if Awesome did what he had to do in April of 2000 to get out of ECW, but in fact, WCW, owned then by Time Warner, acknowledged at that time that ECW had a deal with Awesome and forced him to go back and drop the ECW Title to Tazz, a former ECW champion and then WWF wrestler. They also paid ECW a settlement for violating the contract. Apparently, WCW.com got word of the factual disparity in their story after it was posted. This evening, the original story was changed and it now only says that Awesome held the ECW Title when he appeared on the April 10, 2000 edition of Nitro. It would appear that someone alerted the editor of WWF/WCW.com to the error in their story and changed it. This is the second screw up this week by the WWF-owned sites. Earlier this week, they posted a story where they asserted that Dallas Page was only 32 years old, and changed that after the mistake was pointed out. Source// Dave Scherer ====================================================================== RATINGS//============================================================= The 6/25 edition of Raw is War did its best number since April 30, 2001, scoring a 4.7 cable rating, with a 7.6 share. That is way up from last week's 4.2. This week's broadcast did hours of 4.2 and 5.1, and was up across the board. The overrun did a strong 5.6 rating. It shows me that there is an audience for the WCW angle. Another good sign was that the show only scored one quarter under a 4.0. This is very good news for the WWF. The quarter hours were: Hour 1: 3.6, 4.1, 4.4 and 4.6. Hour 2: 5.0, 5.2, 4.9 and 5.1. Overrun: 5.6. Weekend Ratings: *Livewire did a 0.7 cable rating with 2.5 share, down from last week's 1.0 cable rating. *Superstars did a 0.7 cable rating with 2.4 share, down from last week's 1.0 cable rating. *Heat did a 1.3 cable rating with a 2.5 share, up from last week's 1.0. *The Heat replay did a 0.7 cable rating with a 1.6 share, down from last week's 0.8. *The 6/21 edition of Smackdown did a 3.6 broadcast rating. The plan now is that Off the Record's biggest interviews will debut first on CTV in the Sunday time slot. -The WWF has an interesting poll up at the site right now. "What was your favorite moment from King of the Ring?" The choices are: *Edge becomes King of the Ring *Stone Cold retains the WWF Championship *Booker T invades the main event *Angle throws Shane through two windows *Taker confronts DDP Believe it or not, Edge's win in DEAD LAST with 11% while Angle throwing Shane through the window is tops at 25%. Anderson will be teaming with Lance Storm to take on Cyrus and Scott D'Amore in the main event of the show. Lance Storm had been teasing a mystery partner for the match, with the promotion announcing it this past weekend at their Leamington, Ontario event this past weekend. The show, Extreme WAR, will highlight Wrestling and Racing at Buffalo's premier motorsports location. Extreme WAR will feature the stars of ECW Wrestling plus a full IHRA Drag Event featuring the fan favorite Pro Modifieds. Scheduled to appear on the show thus far are Tommy Dreamer, C.W. Anderson, Mikey Whipwreck (in his final wrestling appearance in his "hometown" ), Nova, Lou E. Dangerously, The Full-Blooded Italians, Francine, Danny Doring & Roadkill, Chris Chetti, Jack Victory, Chilly Willy, and Electra. Additional wrestling names may be added. It has also been alluded to that there will be two "huge surprises" on the show. From all accounts, this will be a special show for fans who never got a proper chance to say goodbye to ECW. The event looks to be spectacular, as all the stops have been pulled to present an awesome day of entertainment. The ECW sponsored Monster Truck Shockwave will be on hand along with the Carl Spiering driven, Dave Persico owned Pro Mod. Hosts of other pro modifieds are slated to participate in the show along with a full IHRA Drag program. Reserved seating is available ringside along with general admission seating.
