As he went to pet it, the dog lunged forward and bit square into the nose of the former self-proclaimed "Manager of Champions." Although he was bleeding profusely from the nose, he refused doctors care. "Although this vicious beast tried to take me out and do permanent damage to my nose, I want to assure concerned fans that I'll make my indy bookings in Canada this weekend. I am investigating whether or not this attack was premeditated. It brings up the question once again... just who the hell let the dogs out. Damn all dogs." Disqo is currently taking indy bookings. The results are in and Bret Hart beat Triple H with 61% of the total votes cast in the final. The poll featured the eight previous KOTR's, which were Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Mabel, Triple H, Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, Kurt Angle, and Billy Gunn. More than 110,000 fans voted in the final round. -Steve Austin will be Byte This's guest at WWF.com Friday at 4pm EST. -Jeff Hardy versus X-Pac for the WWF Light Heavyweight title has been added to the King Of The Ring pay-per-view this Sunday. -Dave Scherer spoke with WWF Champion "Stone Cold" Steve Austin on June 19, 2001. In it, he says he is still under contract to AOL Time Warner but his future in wrestling will be determined over the next few weeks. It's a decent read. Rob's role in the new WCW will be very significant and will result in a surprise appearance on WWF television similarly to what Dallas Page did this week. It could be as soon as this week's television or on Pay-Per-View. Rob received the WCW contract earlier this month, but no word has been announced on whether he has signed or not. The WWF has been telling the new wrestlers that they have brought in not announce their signings so that they can be surprises. Expect to see Rob Van Dam on WWF Television in the "WCW Invasion" angle very soon. I'll have more on Rob Van Dam next week. Just three days before the biggest match in either of their careers, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit will be defending the Tag Team Championship against one of the toughest teams in World Wrestling Federation history -- the Dudley Boyz! Given the Dudleys' history -- they are eight-time former ECW Tag Champs and three-time former Federation Tag Champs -- Y2J and Benoit could be in for the fight of their lives just three days before King of the Ring! After finding out on Monday's RAW that it was Diamond Dallas Page who has been stalking his wife, rumor has it that the Undertaker will be at SmackDown! this Thursday. One can only wonder what the Taker's frame of mind is, given the shocking developments of the past week. This Sunday, one man will be crowned King of the Ring. Kurt Angle, Edge, Christian and Rhyno are the final four men in the tournament. Just 72 hours before King of the Ring, all four of these superstars are expected to be at SmackDown!, and anything can happen with royalty at stake this Sunday! Also this Thursday, Kane and the Hardys meet X-Factor in six-man action, plus Spike Dudley takes on the Big Show in a battle of David vs. Goliath! Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mr. McMahon, Commissioner Regal and Perry Saturn will all be in the house this Thursday on UPN -- it's SmackDown! Check your local listings for time and channel! Source// WWF.com ====================================================================== Article//============================================================= Kurt Angle on Conan O'Brien Kurt first visited Conan when he won his gold medal, so this wasn't his first time on the show. Kurt came out with a black cut-off shirt, looking pretty jacked and Conan joked that that wasn't how he looked in that shirt. Conan complimented Kurt's neck and how developed it was. Angle though that was funny, because in college he had a big complex about it. He never noticed it in high school, but when he went to college, a girl at a party said he looked like a thumb, drew a smiley face on hers and walked around saying "Hey, I'm Kurt Angle! I look like a thumb!" He tried to wear turtlenecks to hide it, but they ended up making it look bigger by calling attention to it. Kurt measured it at 21 and ½ inches, and said he was hoping it would get smaller as he got older. Conan chimed in with "well, some things do," and the crowd was cracking up. Angle was a big hero visiting the show the first time after the 1996 Olympics, but in the WWF he's prided himself with the boos he receives. The two went over how, in the WWF, the Kurt Angle character is based on Angle preaching to the crowd on how they should live their lives with things like the "3 Is," Angle being full of himself, and Angle also wanting to settle for nothing but gold, gold, gold. Kurt noted that when he first debuted he wore 24 gold medals around his neck. The character, despite what he spouts off to the crowd, also doesn't have much integrity, which is how Kurt picked up such huge heat to begin with. As it relates directly to the crowd, Kurt's always enjoyed working local jokes to pick up boos based on what town he was in. Even this past Tuesday in Orlando during the SmackDown tapings, Kurt mentioned to some big heat that he was talking to Shaquille O'Neal and was glad that he moved with the Lakers and left a dump like Orlando to pick up back-to-back NBA Titles for L.A. Conan asked Angle if he felt weird because he always had to intentionally walk out there and alienate the crowd. Kurt joked that, when they're booing the loudest, that's when he's feeling that best about himself. The crowd clapped for the joke, and then they booed the hell out him! I seriously love that crowd. His wife, Karen, owns a nail salon in Pittsburgh, and the way he spends quality time with her once a week when he's free is receiving manicures, pedicures, and hand and fool massages from her. Angle told Conan, "My wife would love you. She'd go to work on you for hours" and the crowd GROOOOOANED... jokingly, of course. Get your minds out of the gutter! Angle joked back that that wasn't what he meant to say, and he couldn't stop himself from laughing. Conan claimed that his feet looked like they hadn't been taken care of in a decade. Conan asked Kurt if his wife's friends knew about his job, and he said that he's caught a lot of flak for it, especially one particular time. Angle said Karen was cool about the Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley kiss when he called to tell her that he had to do it. Her friends at the salon, however, couldn't separate the show from real life, so when they saw it, the ladies thought he was cheating on her, and they gave her pecan pies and presents saying "Honey, I feel so bad for you!" Conan light-heartedly poked that if he was really cheating he could easily lie about it, and use the WWF as the best excuse for infidelity. "That's all just part of the WWF! It's all in your mind, baby!" The plugs were given for the King of the Ring pay-per-view and WWF Tough Enough and that was it. After the crowd cheered, they decided to really make Angle feel loved and showered him with those boos! Kurt came across very well and obviously connected well with Conan and the crowd, so this was a really enjoyable public appearance for Kurt, as well as the WWF as a whole.
