Wrestling, Jim Ross is quoted as being very high on the two Chris's. He says "They really deserve this opportunity and it couldn't happen to two better guys in my view. They're real strong company men with great values. They're just going to keep getting better and better. I'm really pleased that they're getting the opportunity and I hope that it sends the message to the other talent that are kind of percolating that hey, look - your number could be called at any time, just be ready for the opportunity. (Off-the-Wall Ideas and Predictions) by ~*Laine*~ - Week of June 11, 2001 "I am sick and tired of getting no TV time!" D'Lo Brown exclaimed angrily to no on in particular. For what seemed like the millionth TV show in a row, he wasn't booked. It appeared that Lo Down's association with Tiger Ali Singh hadn't gone over quite as well as expected. In short, no one cared. "I know what you mean, man," replied another locker-room loser, Pete Gas. "I think the last time the Mean Street Posse was on TV, dinosaurs still roamed the earth." "Si," Essa Rios agreed emphatically, somehow understanding what they had said despite the fact that he spoke not a word of English. "What are we going to do about it?" Tori piped up from the corner, where she was bitterly watching and rewatching her last TV appearance, her aborted gimmick as Raven's ninja accomplice. (What ever happened to that??) "We're going to form a group," Stevie Richards declared. He had MUCH practice forming such groups in recent times; however, since the dissolution of his former "family", the RTC, he had apparently disappeared off the face of the planet. "We'll round up all the WWF staff who have been MIA for a while, or whose gimmicks just suck, and we'll crash the party, so to speak." "Si," Essa agreed again. "We'll need a translator," Chaz mused in response. The mismatched crew wandered throughout the backstage area, hunting down any and all WWF less-than-superstars who hadn't seen ring action (or any kind of action) for months. With very little effort, they managed to recruit several similarly jaded wrestlers, valets, and managers, including Rodney and Joey Abs, Ivory, the Big Boss Man, Gangrel, the Brooklyn Brawler, Paul Bearer, and even Mae Young, who knocked back a double dose of Geritol, yanked on her Depends (ultra protection), and eagerly followed the newly formed Misfits toward the ring. Vince McMahon was in THIS VERY RING, setting up some matches for the evening in his typical egotistical, nepotistic, megalomaniacal style, when a familiar song began to blare from the loudspeakers. To the tune of Beck's "Loser" (which was somehow glaringly appropriate), the ragtag group of fallen stars marched to the ring, a purposeful set to their jaws, a determined glint in their eyes. "What the hell is this?" Vince asked, already appearing bored. Grabbing the microphone, Stevie Richards announced their intention to once again climb the WWF's ladder of success. "We'll step on anyone who gets in our way," he concluded grimly, ominously staring down the chairman of the WWF. "Let's teach Mr. McMahon that it's not wise to overlook US." Before Vince could react, Gangrel had spewed a chalice-full of blood in his face, the Big Boss Man had casually cracked him across the knees with his nightstick, Essa Rios had sent him sprawling with an ambitious hurricanrana, and Mae Young had threatened to flash him (luckily, Tori and Ivory each grabbed one of Mae's decrepit arms, preventing what could have been a grave insult to the eyes of the fans). Leaving the owner of the World Wrestling Federation in the center of his precious ring, bruised, bloodied, and bewildered, the Misfits, having assured themselves television time (as well as having possibly assured themselves some brutal ass-kickings, but they'd worry about that later), filed proudly back up the ramp... ...and the rest is up to the WWF writers!
