The coalition posted a message to "All concerned citizens" and blasts Matrats for trying to "present itself as a family friendly sanitized program". Matrats is the Canadian based company that recently announced Eric Bischoff's involvement in developing a new wrestling based program featuring younger performers. Matrats officials are aware of the hack and will be working to restore the original content as quickly as possible. Source// 1Wreslting ====================================================================== News from the WWF//=================================================== -The final rating for Smackdown came in at 3.9 -Paul Heyman appeared on Byte THis and had the following to say: Question: Paul's role in the WWF It is the easiest job he has ever had. He gets to express his opinions openly. All of their ships sail in the same direction. Since he doesn't have to keep the books anymore, it is easy. There are many different perspectives at a creative meeting. They hear all of the ideas and, in the end, they all go in the same direction for the company to move forward successfully. Question: Benoit, Jericho & Austin They have both taken the ball and ran with this opportunity. They have both paid their dues and are now using this time to elevate themselves. Paul talked about knowing Steve Austin for a long time. He feels that the WWF has not even scratched the surface on what Steve can accomplish. He took the beer drinking character and updated it. Steve has never been one to rest on his laurels; he always likes to challenge himself. At the height of his success, Steve gets bored if he isn't challenged. Paul talked about how Steve had major neck surgery but is still taking 10 German suplexes in one match. Finkel added that all three of these guys have shown tremendous talent and the WWF had yet to scratch the surface with all three of them. He talked about many people ripping on the Austin heel turn. It is something that takes time. It does not happen in one day. Steve's character is still changing. Paul talked about how he had a lot of ba!!s to risk everything to try something new. Question: Next big star in the WWF Paul feels that Kane is a definite, if he isn't a main event guy already. He also feels that Rhyno will be a huge superstar. He would also like to see if tag teams could perhaps be the top guys in the company. Kevin asked if that could happen in a company that has never had that happen before. Paul talked about how the Dudley Boyz were able to accomplish that in ECW. Kevin added that when the Dudleys first arrived in the WWF, they mentioned that they would love to see the day when a tag team is in the main event spot. Howard put over Brock Lesnar as a huge future star. Question: Does the winner of King of the Ring get elevated? Paul thinks that being the winner provides an opportunity to be elevated. It provides a forum into which a star can launch in elevation. He mentioned guys such as Bret Hart, Austin, Triple H and Kurt Angle as winning the tournament and then becoming WWF champ. Question: Why did Paul E Dangerously become Paul Heyman in ECW? That character ran it's course over time. His career as a manger was over and it was time to move someone else into that spot. There were many guys who were coming up who were far more talented that he was. His role behind the scenes was more important. The saddest thing in the business is when someone stays longer than he should. Question: Paul's love life Paul talked about how he is 35 years old and he usually lasts about 5 minutes. Question: ECW guys in the WWF locker room They are all fitting in well backstage. The WWF roster is very talented but they are always looking for new guys to compete with. Paul put over many of the guys on the ECW roster who can be a perfect fit in the WWF but it all takes time. Kevin talked about how all of the former ECW guys are very professional. Paul added that they had a great locker room and how Terry Funk contributed to that. Guys such as Buh Buh Ray Dudley, Tazz, Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam and Sabu were great locker room leaders. Howard talked about how ECW was certainly cutting edge in the business and how he would try to watch their show whenever he got a chance. Question: ECW females Paul is amazed that Elektra hasn't been picked up by the Sopranos. He would love to see Francine, Dawn Marie and Jazz in either the WWF or WCW. He also talked about how Dawn Marie and Lance Storm were tremendous together and he would love to see them put back together in WCW. I spoke with The Game on Thursday about 6 p.m. Alabama time and he was just leaving therapy, which begins at 9 a.m. Excluding a break for lunch, Triple H is hard at work about seven hours daily, Monday through Friday. He also rehabs half a day on Saturday. Triple H is expected to remain in Birmingham to be near their HealthSouth facility for the next several weeks. Full recovery is expected in 3-4 months. We miss Triple H for a variety of reasons but are certain that he will rehab harder than anyone on the roster and will return better than ever. -We have had a very good week of WCW activities with a variety of creative meetings and discussions. The talent roster is rapidly coming together also. I really think our fans are going to like what they see. -Scotty 2 Hotty and K-Kwik are both ready to leave the injured list. -Rikishi has some significant challenges awaiting him as he begins approximately four months of physical therapy to strengthen his injured shoulder. It's crunch time for this big fella. -Looks like the light heavyweight division may actually get more than a cup of coffee here in the WWF. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Jeff Hardy adds a lot to this area. -I liked the Tazz-Rhyno match on Raw and think Tazz has a lot to offer in the ring. Rhyno is going to be huge. -Shane McMahon is training like a mad man in preparation for his match with Kurt Angle at King of the Ring. -Perry Saturn's new character direction seems to be capturing fan's attention. It is certainly out there and will hopefully add a little levity to our broadcasts and live events. I see this character becoming a fan favorite over the next few weeks. -Tajiri will begin working house shows soon to get used to Federation rings and to keep his skills sharp. -Kurt Angle is scheduled to throw out the first pitch at an upcoming Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game. -I think you are going to really enjoy Tough Enough when it debuts in a couple of weeks on MTV. I've seen some of the raw footage and it is very entertaining. I will hopefully see an edited version of the first show in a few days and will update you here. Thursday June 21 is the date of the first broadcast in the states. -Big Show had two good TV outings last week. He must continue to show intensity and do all he can to not be perceived as lethargic. This past week was productive for the 400 pounder. Let's see if he can make it two straight. -Val Venis will be able to return to work in another week or so from surgery to remove a calcium deposit from his hip. Val is looking to getting down to around 240 pounds, which would be a 20-pound weight loss. I truly believe this guy has tons of untapped talent. -Commissioner William Regal is amazing. Great delivery and facial expressions working with Mick Foley on Smackdown. Could a physical rivalry be brewing? -I like the prospects of seeing the Hardys in singles competition. Same goes for Edge and Christian, in time. All four athletes have a lot to offer and have earned these opportunities. -Hugh Morris did a nice job Monday on RAW. I personally believe this guy has plenty of potential and if he can get to 270-275 pounds can be a top-level player. Hugh is exactly the type of guy we want in our locker room. -We wish Eddie Guerrero the best while he is dealing with some personal issues. -Contract talks with Goldberg and DDP are at a standstill while the talents continue to negotiate with their former employer in order to receive releases so they can negotiate with the WWF. Source// WWF.com & of course, Jim Ross ====================================================================== Comment//============================================================= Screw Job of the Week...er the Month...(well Sorta) By Ted Cabata Well I have finally returned from the Middle East and what a trip that was! But I won't bore you with details I just want to say thanks to sites like Latestwrestlingnews.com that allowed me to check show highlights and news at random hotels that had the Internet. So let's talk about what has gone on since I left. Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho capturing the tag titles was defiantly something I was glad to read about. Undertaker has a stalker now and although I think it's a great angle I'm betting on this to be more disappointing then the Vince McMahon as the "Higher Power." Brian Christopher got fired, and I guess that wasn't a screw job because he really was guilty. Then of course I missed Lance Storm on WWF TV! Sitting at a computer in Egypt reading this I was so excited and so sad that I missed watching it live. Finally there is one last thing that is going to be named the winner just because I like giving the award to him and because I want to comment on what it does to the WWF, so yea you probably guessed it by now... The winner is...Triple H Why Triple H? Simple. With his injury he has pretty much screwed the WWF writing team out of their glass ceiling and has probably forced Steve Austin to drop the belt at some point to either Jericho or Benoit. Triple H's injury now forces the WWF to push new faces because they have no choice but to keep Austin heel and with Rock out they have no choice but to push Jericho and Benoit, which I don't think anyone is complaining about. The question now becomes who else gets a heel push? Obviously Austin can't be the only heel in the company, but with an Angle VS Benoit and/or Jericho already exhausted, doesn't look like it will be him. Regal? Maybe against Benoit but his feud with Jericho seems over. So who gets to be the number 2 heel? Raven? Rhyno? Kane? I guess we will have to wait and see. In closing I promise to have an actual screw job next week.
