UPN finished fifth in the network race, beating out only the WB network. -Here is the DirecTV preview for RAW: 9:00: The Undertaker searches for his stalker. 10:00: The Rock makes an appearance. The qualifying round of the King of the Ring tournament will continue with 2 more matches, which should soon be announced as well. -Dave Meltzer reports the following: Before these rumors get anymore out of control, no matter what the TV previews say for Monday, Rock is not scheduled for Richmond. Vince McMahon's office confirmed that for us this afternoon. I'm not sure why the preview stated that, but sometimes the previews have something to do with the show, and sometimes they don't. -Rumour has it that the person "stalking" The Undertaker's wife could be Rhyno. As Jar Jar Binks would say, "Sense that no make." -At http://www.espn.com, Vince McMahon was honored, sort of as the "sports executive would fans most like to keep quiet." McMahon got 34.4% of the vote, beating out fellow loudmouthsJerry Jones, Daniel Snyder, Al Davis, Mark Cuban, And Pat Croce of the 38,464 total votes cast. -WWF will be releasing another Aggression CD on 9/25 -The WWF continues to meet and discuss how to move forward with WCW. I am under the impression that at this point, all aspects of the internal structure of WCW will be assimilated into the WWF. Based on what is being said, there is still a hold-up in his signing because he's only been offered a 50 cents on the dollar buy-out by Time Warner so he'd be leaving a lot of money on the table. -Scott Steiner is being sued by a fan who claims he assaulted her while he was in Knoxville for a WCW event last year. The woman claims Steiner reached inside her parked vehicle and grabbed her skirt and told her to "take it off, baby." It's been said that Goldberg is more than willing to stay out of the ring for the next two years and collect his salary from AOL Time Warner. The award recognized Issue 70 (Scott Steiner posing with hands grasped in front of him, wearing his gold headdress and title belt, with the headline "Pumped! Scott Steiner's View From the Top", all on a black background), which was judged the best newsstand cover for magazines in the 100,000 to 399,000 circulation category. The judges wrote: "The elements-art, copy, banner-all work well together, creating an effective blend of the modern with the medieval. The images that are depicted in the photography are outstanding, particularly the unusual headpiece adorned by the wrestler." WCW Magazine won the award the previous year for the Issue 57 cover of Goldberg, hands cocked at his waist, letting out a primal scream, on a red background of a muted tight head-shot of Goldberg with staring eyes. Source// Bob Ryder ====================================================================== Comment//============================================================= Vile Thoughts - By The Vile I couldn't help but think about something as I was watching WWF TV this week. Or rather about someone. Someone who is a tremendous talent, and who I believe may be highly underrated in the WWF. Maybe not by the scribes, but by some fans. That man is .....Kurt Angle. The Olympic Hero, or Zero depending on your point of view. With HHH on the shelf, Angle is easily the top heel in the WWF. And don't even start with that Puss 3:16 crap. We'll have none of that here. I have to admit, my fascination with Angle wasn't always there. When he first debuted, I liked his in-ring style, but that whiny personna just wasn't doing anything for me. At least not yet. One of my favorite moments was on a Raw in 1999 from Pittsburgh when Angle screamed "How can you people boo me? I was born here!!" And the Rock replied "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOU WERE BORN!!" But midway through the year of 2000, it happened. That one moment when a wrestler does something so earth-shattering, so mind boggling, that they have won you over forever. And it happened with Kurt Angle. No, I'm not talking about King of the Ring; that would be too easy. No, I'm talking about something way better; an event that truly made him an Olympic Hero. And that was when he planted the Olympic Slam on that useless Mae Young. I remember seeing it, jumping off my sofa, and screaming with delight. From then on, Angle was the Olympic Hero, a man among men, the champion of champions. (That sounds pretty good; wher the heck did I come up with that? Oh well.) After that, I paid more attention to Angle's personna. He is the consumate heel. A man who preaches values, then breaks every one of them. All the while with a cheesy milk-mustache smile on his face. And Angle is the master of the deadpan; that "Saved by the Bell" crack was priceless a couple of weeks ago. Angle has been a tremendous performer for the last year+, and I was a little worried when I saw him entering a program with Shane. I mean, one of the best heels in the company; a man who's held every WWF singles title, and KOTR reduced to wrestling a part-time wrestler? But look at the big picture: Angle is in on the gound floor of one of the top WWF stories this year. It will either be a WCW invasion, or an all new WCW, and Angle will be smack in the middle of it. I think our hero is ready.
