Thanks for reading. naidO// ====================================================================== TOP HEADLINE//======================================================== -1Wrestling.com reports that a Randy Savage-led group has held talks with WCW officials this past week about the contract status of several former WCW wrestlers, and Savage has confirmed that he is after Goldberg, Kevin Nash and both members of Kronik. As has already been reported, Savage has held talks with two major financial investors in hope of starting up a new wrestling promotion, and that he wanted to start it up in Tampa and run shows in Orlando. Savage also noted that financially it would be possible to purchase the contracts of several WCW wrestlers from AOL-Time Warner, but the only question would be if it were legal. He has also said that no TV deal in the US has been finalized, but if the promotion were to start up an international deal has already been organized. Savage said that his promotion has nothing to do with that of Hulk Hogan's deal with Universal. Source// 1wrestling ====================================================================== News from the WWF//=================================================== -Canadian viewers take note...The Score has announced that tomorrow's SmackDown! broadcasts will air back to back - 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (regular broadcast) and 9 p.m. to 11p.m. (repeat broadcast). -Official SmackDown! preview: This Thursday's episode of SmackDown! will be highlighted by a huge Tag Team Championship match -- Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho will put their titles on the line against Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mr. McMahon! The stage is set for an epic Tag Team Championship match this Thursday on UPN! Two other matches have already been signed for Thursday's show. Kane will defend the Intercontinental Championship against former tag-team partner and best friend X-Pac, while Jerry Lynn defends the Light Heavyweight Title against Jeff Hardy! There will be two King of the Ring qualifying matches this Thursday on UPN. Kurt Angle -- looking to repeat as King of the Ring -- takes on Hardcore Holly, while Edge battles Test. Also this Thursday, the Dudley Boyz take on Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko! It all goes down this Thursday on UPN -- it's SmackDown! If you'll notice his past few matches, he's been using the left side of his body for giving chops and executing a majority of his moves, mainly because the right side of his body is atrophying. -RFVideo notes that Michael Shane and Oz have been invited to the WWF TV tapings next week, and they may be asked to work dark matches. Word is that Shane impressed many officials after his match with Jerry Lynn a few weeks ago, that they might be offering him a WWF developmental contract. -The WWF has published a feature article on Paul Heyman in which several former ECW wrestlers including Rhyno, Tazz, Justin Credible and Spike Dudley attribute their success to Heyman. Page has been said to be working on getting his old WCW contract bought out by WWFE. AOL Time Warner was supposedly offering fifty cents on the dollar for the buyout of the contract. The WWF is reportedly very interested in bringing in Page to be one of their main superstars when the new WCW launches. -Another person that the WWF would love to have in the new WCW is former WCW Champion Scott Steiner. The problem with bringing Steiner in, money aside, is that he is still not ready to wrestle. As we reported when it happened in March, Steiner injured his foot and probably shouldn't have even wrestled on the final Nitro, where he dropped the WCW Title to Booker T. During his time away from the ring, Steiner has been working on getting his foot back to 100%, but it's still not there yet. So, any chance of him signing a WCW deal just doesn't make sense right now. On his website yesterday, Steiner admitted that he has had discussions with the WWF, but has not signed with them. On his site, he also mentioned that he had been in Los Angeles for meetings with "Hollywood people". -Lance Storm has updated his online commentary in which he talks about how to work a crowd, and how he did to perfection with Chris Jericho against the Heavenly Bodies in Smokey Mountain Wrestling a few years ago. Brian Blair was hurt in freak accident Saturday at a Tampa restaurant. Blair was accompanying his children to the rest room when he was tripped and fell over a tray left in the floor. He tore the tendon from his right rotator cuff and injured his neck. Surgery has been scheduled for July 12 to repair the rotator cuff, and Blair will not be wrestling for at least four months. "I'm optimistic about my recovery," Blair said, "I'll train every body part that they'll let me. I've always worked hard and I'm not about to quit now." -Jerome Williams, aka 'The Junkyard Dog', who played with the Raptors last year (and is a free agent at the moment) will be a special referee in the women's tag team match at the WWF show at Toronto's Air Canada Centre June 16th.
