Lawler was scheduled team with Steve Blackman & Trish Stratus against Dean Malenko & Perry Saturn & Terri at last night's Raw. Instead, the match was turned into a mixed tag match between Blackman & Stratus vs. Saturn & Terri. The WWF did not acknowledge Lawler's firing during last night's Raw broadcast. Word is some members of management think Holly should have a body type similar to Trish Stratus. Some staff members oppose the pressure, saying featuring a diverse group of women on television is very important. Reportedly, the fed is happy with the current Holly/Spike Dudley storyline, so the pressure may stop. -Canadian network TSN edited out the segment on RAW where Buh Buh Ray Dudley slammed Molly Holly and Spike through a table. Crowd shots were shown in place of the move. -After RAW went off the air, Vince and Stone Cold made their way backstage. Jericho and Benoit got out of the ring and went over to Stu Hart and gave him a hug. Both men said that Calgary is the best wrestling town and talked about Owen Hart, which caused a huge "Owen, Owen" chant. The crowd also chanted Stu's name. -Although Stu Hart was on RAW Monday night don't expect Bret to show up on WWF TV anytime soon. He told intermediaries who talked to him this last weekend "No" flat out. Source// ====================================================================== Article//============================================================= -Undertaker Update Here's more info on 'Taker being unhappy last week: *In addition to him being upset that his proposed feud with Steve Austin ended that day, when he was under the impression that it would continue until King of the Ring, the Taker was said to be even more upset with how he was told that the feud was over. A key insider told 1wrestling that Taker was said to be upset because Vince McMahon told him at the Judgment Day PPV that the feud was ending that night, and did so in front of Austin, Triple H and Kane. The feeling was that Taker deserved the respect of being told alone, not in front of a group. That is reportedly what upset the big man. *After Raw on last Monday, Undertaker went home to be with his mother, who had surgery. Undertaker worked the house shows this past weekend in Salt Lake City, UT and Vancouver, BC. *As we saw last night, Sara was seen being stalked by someone. Those vignettes were taped by a crew, led by Bruce Prichard, at the Undertaker's house that involved his wife Sara. The idea is that someone is stalking the Undertaker and Sara and whoever that person turns out to be will be the Taker's opponent at King of the Ring. *Taker will be off TV until the week before King of the Ring. The idea of Taker and his wife being filmed is an offshoot of what they started with Steve Austin before the PPV. The demise of ECW and WCW eliminated many of things we have been writing about, making it harder to come up with interesting subjects. There are just so many reviews of a PPV one can read before reaching for the delete key. How many columns discussing who the WWF needs to sign from WCW does it take before you want to shove your screen up the writers confectionary rectum? With these things is mind, along with a desire to retain a clear bodily exit channel, I thought I might address some of the WWF's concerns about the current story lines. One of the fashionable things to write about it seems is that things are "stale," and how the writer and/or reader has lost interest in what's going on. Wrestling by nature, like most forms of entertainment, is repetitive in what it does. Think of how many movie versions of a famous book you have seen. Stories based on Romeo and Juliet have been done endless times; The Hatfield and McCoy feud has been the basis for many movies, plays, etc. Consider also that popular movies generate sequels. The point is there really isn't a lot of original work done in any entertainment media. The trick is to take what has been done before and make it interesting. That is not an easy thing to do. The current Molly Holly - (Little) Spike Dudley love fest is a take off on the Romeo and Juliet and Hatfield -McCoy feud angles; Lovers from families that "hate" each other. The Hollys and The Dudley Boyz are now embroiled in a feud that we can expect to last for some time. We saw Molly and poor Spike eating a table last night. Does this mean that Spike has been disowned again as he was in their ECW days? Will Spike "become" a Holly? Will Molly say tata to her cousins for allowing the table job? Will Molly and Spike wed and give us the first Holly-Dudley offspring and what species will it be? The WWF started it in an interesting way and now must retain out interest. Mama Guerrero's little boy has joined The Hardy Boyz and Lita, or has he? It doesn't take an Einstein to see what Eddie is up to. Heck, even Dirtbag Doophus Page can figure it out. This has all kinds of possibilities. We saw the first inkling of a Lita - Latino Heat connection last night as they hugged. Who initiated it? What will Matt have to say about it? Eddie struck out with Chyna; will he have better luck this time? Stay tuned. When The Big Schmo won the Hardcore Title, the crying and bitching could be heard on The Space Station and in the Marianas Trench. Rather than wait and see how it played out, many were all over the writers suggesting they might be better off writing plays for the fourth grade class at South Park Elementary. Now that we know the idea was to elevate Canadian Chris No. 1 (AKA Y2J) by having him beat The Big Schmo and shove a garbage can down his pie hole, it doesn't look all that bad. That and having The Manbeast regain the Title via a Pearl Harbor job on CC No. 1, which didn't hurt CC No. 1's status. Who among us can complain about the Four Way Tag Team Tables, Ladders and Chairs (TLC No. 3) to select a Numero Uno Contender for the Title? That match was a keeper, with the four top teams doing everything possible with TLC, short of serving them ala mode. Naturally we can't expect a TLC match on every card, but having one every so often keeps the idea fresh and the natives content. Moving to the WWF Title level, we have seen Stone Cold Steve Austin (SCSA), HHH, and Canadian Chris Nos. 1 and 2 in all kinds of matches, with CC No. 2 getting a shot at the Title last night. You can expect to see columns saying Les Gapped Toothe won the match and was ripped off. Remember that SCSA had him pinned while The Emperor was discussing his new Ferrari with the referee, and should have won it then and there. What has happened is that both CC's have moved up the ladder to the top of the WWF. With The Game gone for at least four months and The Rock not due back for another month, they will be more and more involved at the top. This should make a lot of people happy and give us some fresh angles and matches. Speaking of HHH, he completed his match (including taking The Walls of Jericho), after tearing a thigh muscle. Think of the example that sets for the entire locker room. He was the Wrestler of the Year in 2000, and each day he keeps proving he is The Wrestler of the Decade. Like him or hate him, the man is phenomenal and a role model for everyone. There are times I find things a bit dull, but having been a wrestling fan since Noah told me the Ark was full, I know that the WWF wont let that go on for long. If you are bummed out on wrestling, hang in there. With new blood like Tajiri and Lance Storm in the wings, and WCW due to start up soon, things will be hopping. There are rumors that The Emperor has been talking to Rob Van Dam (RVD - Mr. Monday Night). Those familiar with him know what to expect; those who haven't seen him are in for a very pleasant surprise. Booker T and Big Poppa Steroid are said to be in the fold. Much to my (and to that of countless others) dismay, it is also being reported that Douchebag Dungheap Page will also be involved in the new WCW.
