Thanks for reading. naidO// ====================================================================== TOP HEADLINE//======================================================== -While it may not be finalized, it is expected that Stu Hart will appear on Raw Monday night in Calgary. I will have more details on this as the weekend goes by, but Jim Ross in the Ross Report (read it all below) hinted as much saying the company would like to honor Stu at the show. Bruce Hart, who has attempted to put together deals to have Stu appear before the fans on previous WWF events since the death of Owen, appears to have been successful with the feeling that the Owen Hart lawsuit is over, and that at this point, the feeling is it will help Bruce's standing with the WWF since he's running an indie group and the WWF is the only game in town. Bruce last year attempted to put together a Stampede show using WWF talent, but when Martha Hart (Owen's widow) spoke publicly against it and Stu wouldn't be a part of the show, the show fell apart and it turned into a p.r. black eye for the WWF in the Calgary market as they came off as the heels trying to put together a benefit show for people who had made it clear they weren't even going to attned the show. For WWF, having Stu on the show and honoring represents a sort of p.r. healing for everyone. Source// The Law ====================================================================== News from the WWF//=================================================== -Benoit talks about the best week of his life Unquestionably, the past seven days have been magical for Chris Benoit. The Rabid Wolverine capped his week by joining us on Byte This!, and he answered fans questions about his past, present and future -- and what a bright future it looks to be! What did Benoit have to say about Chris Jericho, WCW, Triple H and a myriad of other topics? Click to hear Byte This! http://www.wwf.com/webcasts/bytethis/ -Triple H will make an appearance on Sunday Night Heat (5/27 edition) to talk about the torn quadricep injury he suffered during this week's RAW. Grandmaster Sexay and Steve Blackman will host the show live from WWF New York. -Ken Shamrock recently spoke with World Wrestling Federation officials about a comeback, according to two sources close to the situation. Shamrock reportedly knows his days in mixed martial arts fighting are drawing to a close and he is interested in cashing in with the WWF while still able to perform athletically at a high level. I think Shamrock's return would be great for the WWF, especially if he was repackaged better (the likelihood of which is pretty good considering Paul Heyman's rise to power). -Smackdown finished with 3.9 rating and 7 share last night, putting UPN in its traditional fourth place spot. The number was a decline from the 4.0 from last week. -The WWF got its second bit of good legal news yesterday when a federal judge in New York ruled that their defamation lawsuit against Florida lawyer Jim Lewis would indeed go to trial. The motion to have the WWF's case dismissed was denied. Lewis represented a 12 year old boy named Lionel Tate in a murder trial after Tate beat a six year old girl to death. Lewis tried to argue that the boy was influenced by professional wrestling matches he watched on TV and tried to use that as a defense for Tate's actions. The jurors in the murder trial rejected that argument and found Tate guilty of the crime. The WWF filed their lawsuit against Lewis last November. They argued that his statements and defense of Tate defamed the WWF. The WWF also took issue with Lewis appearing in nationally-distributed videos that claimed four American children died due to kids imitating pro wrestling moves that they saw on Smackdown. The WWF is suing Lewis and others who appeared in the video, saying that their actions caused the WWF to lose sponsors. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for June 22. -Tajiri will be doing more vignettes with William Regal. Tajiri will eventually turn on Regal and will not be "abused" the way many on the internet think. -Despite his appearance backstage at Smackdown, there is reportedly no interest in signing Juventud Guerrera. -On Thursday's Opie and Anthony radio show in NYC, they had on Lewis Black from Comedy Central's Daily Show. Black told the hosts that he was up for the role of an announcer in the remake of the classic movie "Rollerball", but he lost the part to Paul Heyman. I know that back when Heyman was running ECW, producers from the movie came to him but he had no interest in doing the part. After digging around however, I did find out that Heyman recently filmed the spot for the movie, which is due out in August. That he did the spot came as a surprise to many of the wrestlers I spoke with because it has not been talked about at all in the locker room. Source// Associated Press, Latestwrestlingnews, WWF.com, Ultimo ====================================================================== News from WCW//======================================================= -Buff Bagwell's stock with the WWF has risen, and that there is a good chance he will be brought into the new WCW for some star power. -In his latest diary entry, WCW Cruiserweight Champion (for now, at least) Shane Helms talks about his recent trip to a comics convention (where he met TV's Incredible Hulk, Lou Ferrigno, and members of the Star Trek cast), an indy show he worked, Chris Kanyon, and more. You can read it at http://www.shanehelms.com Source// Ultimowrestling, 1Wrestling ====================================================================== News from the rest of pro-wrestling//================================= -M/G Perin, Inc. will distribute WOW shows until September 30. The agreement had ran out earlier this week but was extended. Source// LWN ====================================================================== Article//============================================================= News & Notes from the latest Ross Report -Triple H's surgery Thursday in Birmingham, Alabama with Dr. Jim Andrews was successful, however, the quad tear was worse than indicated by the MRI Triple H received Monday night in San Jose. The injury was a complete tear of one of the four quadriceps "heads" and was reattached by Dr. Andrews. Triple H will be hospitalized until Sunday and then will be staying in Birmingham the next several weeks to rehab with Sports South therapist Kevin Wilkes. Recovery time is projected to be 3 or 4 months but a complete recovery is expected. It's amazing to me that The Game was able to gut out the final few minutes of the Tag Team Championship match on Raw after sustaining the very painful injury to his thigh muscle. Maybe some of Triple H's critics will cut him some slack after the performance he provided us all on RAW under extremely extraordinary circumstances. Triple H will be back on TV in a few weeks in what should be some very interesting television. -Our challenge now is to continue to regroup and establish fresh, new issues that will, hopefully motivate viewers to increase their interest in our broadcasts. We have been here before, unfortunately, and I am certain we will be able to create a positive situation out of this untimely ordeal. -Quite frankly, we have no choice but to continue to evolve with these new TV issues and to provide positive opportunities for all involved talents. This week's RAW and SmackDown! were both strong broadcasts with extremely strong main events. The tag title match on Raw was a big time presentation with a legitimately special feel and the TLC III contest on SmackDown! was simply amazing. The ten talents involved in the two main events should all feel very proud of their accomplishments because all of us certainly are. This was a great start of another new, exciting era of Federation TV. -HHH was in surprisingly good spirits on Tuesday before flying to Atlanta and than traveling to Birmingham via limo early Wednesday morning. No one I know will work harder at coming back better than ever than The Game. -It has been said within the business since I can remember that serious (and unfortunate) injuries create opportunities for other talents. I am very interested in seeing who and how our healthy performers take advantage of this situation. -Al Snow is in Memphis this week working with our developmental talent there. Other unbooked Federation Superstars will also be helping out in this area in the future. -We are interested in signing David Flair to a developmental contract and assigning him to OVW in Louisville. -The Undertaker was not at SmackDown! so he could be in Houston to attend to an ill family member. Undertaker has been very supportive of recent creative decisions contrary to what has been reported by uninformed sources. The veteran leader of the Federation locker room will be deeply involved creatively with new issues that look excellent on paper. -We hope to have Tommy Dreamer on our roster within the next few weeks. -Rikishi will see Dr. Andrews next week for his shoulder injury and is tentatively scheduled for surgery for next week. -Scotty Too Hotty has been cleared to return to work. He is scheduled to work in Louisville for OVW for a couple of weeks so he can slowely work his way back up to a match and work out some ring rust. We should see him back in a Federation ring in about 3 weeks. -Congratulations are in order for Christian and his German bride as they will be married Friday night in Florida. -I expect our crowds this week in Calgary and Edmonton to be red hot and ready for the Federation. It has been about a year since we had the privilege of being in these two Canadian cities. I'm looking forward to seeing the Hart Family while we are in Calgary and I hope we can do something special for Stu Hart who has made so many significant contributions to our business. -D'Lo Brown, Chaz and Tiger Ali Singh are getting good reviews from Puerto Rico's IWA. Pete Gas is still learning his craft and is working very hard to progress there, too. -UPW's Nathan Jones and Jon Heidenreich may soon be assigned to OVW. -Our reorganization of our talent developmental program is well underway and changes will be evident in the next few months. Source// wwf.com and of course, Jim Ross ====================================================================== Comment//============================================================= Vile Thoughts - by The Vile Well, it's been another topsy turvy week in the world of the WWF. First we had Judgement Day, which was a pretty good event, followed by Raw and Smackdown which had some very interesting happenings. Just thought I'd share some observations with all of you... First off, Jerry Lynn has got to be one of the worst interviews I've ever seen. Give him a dubbed voice that says "INDEED!" Oh, sorry. That's been done already. I have to tip my cap to the writers for not giving us a Chyna heel turn, and actually giving us a pretty darn good women's title match. I still smell a screw job somewhere down the line though. It was great to see Benoit and Jericho win the tag titles over HHH and Puss 3:16. I feel bad for HHH because he's now on the shelf, but Jericho and Benoit are 2 great workers, and after seeing them in the TLC match on Smackdown, they are showing that they can hang in the tag team division. Gee, Shane-O making a nuisance of himself on Monday Night Raw. Are we going to see "Son of NWO", also known as the "WCW Invasion"? With Rikishi, and HHH out, and Rock still filming his movie, that is a distinct possibility. Molly Holly and Spike are now an item. Am I the only one that hears the theme song from "Deliverance" in the background? One word for Jeff Hardy's death defying move on Bubba while he was on the announce table on Smackdown: HEINOUS!! What's the deal with making Tajiri a lackey for Regal? Tajiri should be breaking that little crumpett in half. And lastly, and leastly, some more mindless ranting.... June 1986: "What you've seen is one of the most dominating performances ever seen in the WWF. And all you people are crying for Jake Roberts, and I see your little signs that say 'John 3:16.' Well, 'Austin 3:16 says I just kicked your ass!'" May 2001: "My name is Stone Cold Steve Austin, I am the World Wrestling Federation Champion, and I don't deserve to be treated like that!!" What in the name of JR's barbecue sauce is going on here? The total pussification of Stone Cold grows by leaps and bounds each week. "Don't deserve to be treated like this?" Who the hell is writing this drivel? The best part of Raw was when Jericho came out and told him to "Shut the hell up!!" I'll tell you one thing; if he hadn't, I was ready to turn on the rerun of Ally McSlut. That's because Puss 3:16 is now without a doubt the worst character ever created. I had my doubts before, but I'm sure now. In Vince's ultimate desire for shock value-Stone Cold turning heel, he has created someone that I have nothing but disdain for. It makes you hope that in true soap opera fashion, that Puss 3:16 will walk out in front out a bus, or wind up in some kind of explosion, or however the hell they kill people off in the soaps. Better yet, just show the Austin's bedroom. Debra is in bed asleep. She wakes up, shivering. Steve comes out from the bathroom and says "Debra, what's wrong?" And she says "Oh, Steve, I just had the most horrible nightmare. You sold out, becoming a total wuss, and following Vince around like 'The Poky Little Puppy'. And Steve would respond "Now honey, you no there's no way that'll ever happen." Oh well, dare to dream. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to HHH. We need you to kick the hell out of Puss 3:16. And that's all she wrote. ====================================================================== Remember...=========================================================== -Remember that if you've missed any TV Shows, PPV's or more?
