Watch Byte This! http://www.wwf.com/webcasts/bytethis/ -Indie Wrestlers That Will Wrestle WWF Dark Matches This Week *This Monday night, Christopher Daniels and Tony Jones will both be in San Jose to wrestle a dark match with the WWF. *On Tuesday night, Daniels, Mikey Henderson, Nova, Frankie Kazarian, and Sylvester Terkey (aka Sly Scraper from OVW) will wrestle dark matches in Anaheim. -Dave Meltzer reports WCW talent will be appearing on the 7/22 PPV, WWF Invasion. The PPV is said to be built around a Vince vs. Shane angle. The actual specific storylines for the PPV may not be finalized as there are said to be different ideas of how to accomplish the "Invasion" itself. -According to 1Wrestling, the new person named "Alex" who joined the WWF writing team as an assistant after Jamie Morris left is Alex Abrahantes. Abrahantes has worked on the central Pennsylvania independent circuit as "Yutzak Arafat". He was also the booker/president of the Nittany Wrestling Federation, and Penn State's Pro Wrestling Club. Source// The Law ====================================================================== Article//============================================================= News & Notes from Jim Ross -We have had a good week preparing for the WCW re-launch. The talent roster is beginning to come together and we like what we are seeing. Several unsigned talents have expressed a desire to be a part of the new WCW and will, hopefully, be on board to take advantage of being a vital part of the re-launch. Several verbal commitments have been made and contracts are being finalized over the next few days. Within two to three weeks, we feel the talent roster will be virtually completed. There is still tons of work to do and contracts to finalize but we like our progress. I personally can't wait to see this group get started and raise some timely hell. -I had the opportunity Wednesday night to attend the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) television taping in Louisville, Ky., which I always enjoy. Reminds me of my early career at the Tulsa Fairgrounds Expo Center and the Irish McNeil Boys Club in Shreveport, which was the home of Mid South Wrestling over 20 years ago. Jim Cornette is coming into the present somewhat reluctantly as far as his personal philosophy of the business is concerned; however, no one does a better job of doing an exciting TV show with a basically inexperienced crew than Cornette. -His passion for the old-school values of the business is genuine and good for these young talents to understand and respect. Danny Davis has my utmost respect and is a credit to the product, as he is one of the most fundamentally sound trainers around. Bobby Eaton will stay in OVW through August, perhaps longer, and should prove to be a valuable resource for young wrestlers who want to learn in-ring techniques. -I was impressed by several talents, including Nick Dinsmore, who graduated from college last week, Rico Constantino, Flash and Randy Orton, all of whom have really improved over the last few months. Leviathan has an awesome look and an unlimited amount of potential. Sheldon Benjamin and Brock Lesnar looked very good in tag action and both will be on RAW IS WAR some day. Ron "H20Man" Waterman has been a very pleasant surprise and looked significantly better. Ron is a former amateur mixed martial arts fighter, coach and teacher, and is a first-class human being. Eric Angle, who has quite the challenge in following his brother, Kurt, in the business, tore his triceps and had surgery this past week and will be on the shelf for a few weeks. Rob Conway, BJ Payne and Damaja all are progressing better than expected, which makes everyone happy. Mark Henry's improved conditioning is a positive, but he needs to continue to focus on his in-ring technique and especially his interviews. -Solo, a smaller version of The Rock, broke his ankle Thursday and will be out of action for a few weeks. Sylvester Terkay and Brian Keck, both superb amateur wrestlers and solid human beings, have the physical skills but must find the entertainment "sizzle" to go with the steak. Mike Howell, formerly a Dupp and now known as Mike Hard, is fundamentally sound and has enough experience to make it, but he too must find "it" -- the ability to get fans to notice and remember him in a positive light. -Everyone at OVW is on a separate timeline, and they all know what areas they need to concentrate on. We are going to take steps in improving the training facility, in conjunction with Davis and Cornette, and make it a more effective training environment. There is no shortage of heart and dedication with this group, and within the next 12 to 18 months it seems inevitable to me that some of these men will be performing in the Federation or in WCW. Some maybe sooner. We are going to really focus on this area of talent relations in the future, even more so than we have in the past. Changes will be considered in many areas and closer talent evaluations will be the order of the day. Competition on these rosters will become more intense but, hopefully, more fun as well. This is, as if you couldn't tell, my favorite individual area of our department. Our business cannot exist without new and talented young stars being introduced on our TV programs in a variety of unique ways. -It is days like these with young, enthusiastic talents that make these long weeks truly worthwhile. -Check out The Rock on the cover of the current Rolling Stone. -Congrats to Mick Foley! He is a No. 1 best-selling author ... again! "Foley is Good" moves atop the New York Times list next week. You gotta read this one. A true page turner. Guaranteed. -A small amount of tickets are still available for RAW (San Jose) and SmackDown! (Anaheim). Both events will be close to sold out by their respective show times. -My daughter Kasi is getting married in Ponca City, Okla., next Saturday and I hope she's better at it than I was at her age. I'm not sure I'm prepared to be a father-in-law, but I've personally had three so I hope I know what to do by now. Seriously, I'm very happy for my daughter and what's-his-name (just joking). -I've read the transcript of Kurt Angle's upcoming book and I liked it a lot. Some minor changes are being made as we speak, but this is going to be another surprisingly good read. I was intrigued by Kurt's Olympic journey and the drastic measures he endured to compete during the biggest week of his life. His talking about the murder of his friend and mentor, amateur legend Dave Shultz, and Kurt's wide-eyed entrance into the unique world of sports entertainment are also great. Not as deep as "Foley is Good" but an extremely interesting and informative book.
