WCW had a bunch of "a$$holes" who did not know how to run a company. The McMahons have proven that they know how to do it. Guys who were held back may get some opportunities, but they will have to work extremely hard. Overall, it is a very positive thing for wrestling and wrestling fans. He does not see anyone in WCW coming over to the WWF right away. They need to get their company in order before even thinking about any of that. Besides, the WWF roster is extremely full and very talented right now. Taker has no problem wrestling Kevin Nash or Sid, if he returns from injury, again. To read the rest of what he had to say, click http://www.naidosworld.com/bytethis.html ______________________________________________________________________ [News from The WWF] **News and notes from Good Ol' JR: - It has been a busy week with approximately 30 meetings in three days here in Atlanta as we begin to assemble our staff for WCW and meet with many of the WCW talent. I would definitely term these meetings as very positive. The WCW talent seemed to be very upbeat and anxiously awaiting the re-launch. This re-launch is tentatively scheduled for mid-June; however, this is not yet finalized. Tapings are now set for Wednesdays with broadcast still tentatively set for late Saturday nights; however, that too is still being discussed and has yet to be finalized. Talent was encouraged to intensify workouts and to work as many independent events as possible. Most of these performers are very young, relatively inexperienced and need as much in-ring time as possible. I also met with potential staff members, who also were excited about the re-branding of WCW. We sincerely want to put a superb staff together for these young talents and to add a few new faces to the existing roster of 24. - There is a possibility that some former WCW stars will be joining this new roster; however, unreasonable contract demands or other financial matters may slow or prohibit this from occurring. All involved have to fully realize we are literally starting from scratch, and a certain degree of sacrifice and the total commitment to rebuilding the WCW brand is required. I am not sure who will finally make this roster; however, I am positive that those who end up on the team will be totally dedicated and prepared to entertain our fans in a big way. - Obviously, the new WCW TV show will be ever evolving and will improve, hopefully, every week that it airs, to some degree. Bottom line is if we make the right choices with talent and staff, and identify folks who truly want to do all they possibly can to make this product the best it can be, we will win. It will take time but it can and will be done. I am very excited, more so than when we first purchased WCW, about the potential of this project. The bitter taste of my being professionally disrespected by WCW years ago has subsided somewhat and I am looking forward to helping build a staff of passionate professionals who want to put WCW back in the game. - The Backlash card seems to be coming together. Undertaker and Kane vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H is a virtual certainty -- stipulations to be announced by Monday on RAW IS WAR from Denver. The Ultimate Submission match with Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle, with a required 30-minute time limit, could be extraordinary. Chris Jericho vs. William Regal will have some unique stipulations and will addressed Monday on RAW. No doubt, Shane McMahon vs. Big Show in a Last Man Standing match will offer some surprises and another opportunity for Show to step up to the plate. More matches will be announced on RAW and perhaps SmackDown! as well. This Pay-Per-View has a fighting chance to be very entertaining, but it has a helluva act (WrestleMania) to follow. If it is solely compared to WrestleMania, Backlash may already have two strikes against it. This one could surprise us. - After two days in Denver next Monday and Tuesday, I will be in Los Angeles Wednesday for another series of meetings with WCW talent and others. I'm going to attempt to attend the UPW show Wednesday night, also. Never a dull moment. **Thursday on UPN, WWF Smackdown! scored a 4.2 final rating with a 7.0 share. This number is up from last week's 3.7 rating and is a lot higher than the overnights in the metered markets would have indicated it to be. **This Sunday night on WWF Heat, Trish Stratus will be at WWF New York to guest host the program along with Michael Cole and Tazz. Heat airs from 7-8:00pm ET on MTV in the United States and on CTV SportsNet up here in Canada. **Rumors are that the WWF are looking for new fresh tag teams, which may result in the break up of current teams. One of the tag teams rumored to be broken up in the near future is that of Edge and Christian. It is expected that Edge would turn face after breaking up with Christian, and be part of a monster push, maybe a giving a run for the Intercontinental Title. **Apparently, Jerry Lawler believes Chyna may have contributed directly and indirectly in getting Stacy "Kat" Carter fired. In an interesting note, at the time Carter was released, Vince McMahon was frustrated with contract negotiations with Chyna because she was asking for more money than he felt she deserved. Some speculate that perhaps Vince released Carter to send a message to her that no one is safe from a release. **While on Byte This! early Friday, the Undertaker revealed that Limp Bizkit will be heading into the studios soon to make a new version of his theme song geared more towards his character. He will also be coming out with a new "Rude American" bike sometime soon. **Mick Foley and Linda McMahon are set to host Raw Is War this Monday from WWF New York. Also, as a reminder, Trish Stratus will be guest host for Heat tomorrow at WWFNY. Trish also hosted Raw last Monday from WWFNY. **Saturday is the big day for ticket sales for the upcoming WWF shows in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. Tickets go on sale next Saturday for the June 2nd show in Winnipeg. His name wasn't discussed in the recent meetings of the WWF. **Lex Luger is said to be upset lately since he hasn't heard anything from the WWF. Possibility of Lex Luger in the new WCW is next to impossible, since the WWF and Luger haven't been on good terms after Luger left the company for WCW. The promotion would involve older superstars. **Former ECW wrestlers, Sandman and Steve Corino haven't been contacted by the WWF for the new WCW. It was expected that most of the ECW wrestlers would be signed for the new WCW. However, names of Sandman and Corino weren't discussed in the meetings recently held by the WWF. **Although Simon Diamond and Dawn Marie haven't received any contracts from the WWF, they are rumored to be receiving opportunities with the company. Despite the fact they currently aren't under any contract with the WWF doesn't mean that they won't receive one in the future. Smackdown was defiantly interesting. Unfortunately the turn of events were obvious since WrestleMania. It seems as if Kane has had the biggest week of them all. First being screwed out of the Hard-core Title by Rhyno then helping his brother the Undertaker screw Edge & Christian out of the tag team titles. Then we had the blown camera angle on RAW, I just loved watching Austin walk towards Lita instead of seeing the end of Jeff Hardy VS Triple H. I am happy the Hardyz got screwed again though. I'm so over for Triple h and Austin. Well, that leaves everyone to wonder what this week's pick is well, I mentioned him at the beginning of the article. The winner is...Rhyno! In the words of Paul Heyamn "Gore! Gore! Gore!" I think Rhyno managed to screw everyone this week. The Hollies and Kane, defiantly felt his wrath. Hopefully the push for Rhyno will continue and he will be able to screw more people and we will see more "Gore."
