The main event between Triple H and Jeff Hardy scored a 5.8, the show's highest number. Of course, the lowest part of the program came when the best action was on. The 10:00 - 10:30 half hour involving Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, and William Regal stayed in the 4.0 range. Since the final episode of WCW Nitro on TNT, RAW has been in a steady decline. 4/2 RAW after Wrestlemania scored a 5.7, and last week's show had a 5.4. - Livewire scored a 1.1 cable rating with a 3.6 share. - Superstars did a 0.9 cable rating with a 2.7 share. - Heat did a 1.6 cable rating with a 3.1 share. - The Heat replay did a 0.9 cable rating with a 2.0 share. ______________________________________________________________________ [News from The WWF] **After RAW went off the air, Triple H and Austin went backstage only to come out again. They jumped in the ring and were double chokeslammed by Undertaker and Kane. Sources say that Shawn Michaels hasn't changed his backstage attitude, and is as cocky as ever. Michaels was describes as "being a dick" backstage. Rumors are that WWF officials have asked Michaels to change his attitude and return, or not return at all. **Chris Jericho has updated his online commentary. It's expected to be a part of the next WWF CD, but it has not been assigned to a wrestler yet. Slayer guitarist Kerry King is a long time wrestling fan. His was not one of the contracts purchased by the WWF. Even if the past problems between the WWF and Jarrett could be worked out, there is debate whether he would want to sign, because his father Jerry could be starting a new promotion of his own. **Turner Broadcasting has opened up Universal Wrestling Corporation Inc. to handle any of WCW's debts, payments, etc. They are not using the WCW name because WWFE now owns that brand. **Due to legal action taken by AOL, both Konnan and 'The Franchise' Shane Douglas are barred from attending any XPW events, because they are legally still under WCW/WWF contract. Former WCW manager Major Gunns has been signed to XPW however. **Jim Ross, who doubles as the WWF's Vice President of talent relations when he is not announcing, is in Atlanta today meeting with prospective WCW employees. Dave Scherer has reported that at least a few big name wrestlers are on the list of people that Ross will talk to today, as the WWF prepares for the June 9 re-launch of WCW. Ross is also scheduled to meet with other former WCW employees. It appears that whatever happens with the new WCW, Johnny Ace will be a part of it. He is probably working as a liaison for Ross at this point. I have heard that he will sit in on many, if not all, of the meetings that Ross has today in Atlanta. In the end, I think he will be an agent for the new WCW. All the wrestlers listed in the list who have a claim in ECW's assets have been notified about the meeting on April 14. **Stu Hart is expected to be released today from hospital. Hart was taken home on Sunday for a few hours for Easter, but was brought back to the hospital since he wasn't signed out officially. It can now be reliably reported that the sun rose over Los Angles yesterday and set over New York. SCSA and McMahon together? That's about as likely as Sleazy Willie Clinton swearing celibacy and volunteering for castration. Is nothing sacred anymore? Not only does SCSA become buddies with the biggest AH on the planet, but he aligns himself with mortal enemy HHH. Still not content, what else does Emperor McMahon lay on us - Chris and Chris, Benoit and Jericho, Crippler and Y2J! Wasn't it just yesterday that one was telling the other to "Shut the hell up," and in turn being threatened with being the next victim of The Crippler Cross Face? Still not satisfied, we have Jeff Hardy beating The Game and becoming Intercontinental Champion (albeit holding the Title just long enough to need another shave), a deed as likely as the Cubs winning the World Series. As The Emperor says, "Anything can happen in The WWF." If the events of the past couple of week don't prove that, nothing ever will. He buys WCW, or at least Prince Shane did, and the world has been turned upside down ever since. What does it all mean? It means we are seeing things we never expected to and it is making wrestling more interesting than ever. The doom sayers were predicting that the purchase of Red Neck Wrestling by The McMahon Dynasty was the beginning of the end. Rather it has been a new beginning ... period. We are already seeing things we never expected to, and I will bet it's just the tip of the iceberg. Sure things needed to change with The Rock off making nice in LaLa Land, but it's the scope of the changes we are seeing. Heck, at this rate we may even get to see Steve Blackman smile and dance with Grand Master Sexay. Wait, we have seen that. The sky's the limit. For my "Where Are They Now?" segment, I have spent countless minutes investigating what has happened to some of WCW's finest (an oxymoron if ever there was one) since "The Sale." Here's what I have found so far: 1. Fat Tony is still working for Turner. He's doing the Atlanta Braves games on radio. He's right at home in the booth, confusing a double with a double play only three times thus far. He has already got the concept of balls and strikes down perfectly, only needing to reference the Rule Book an average of two times per game. 2. The Ancient Perfessa returned to his old job at The University of Mexico City at Guadeloupe, teaching Modern Mongolian Poetry, Party Hat Making and Sports Broadcasting for Idiots. Fat Tony is registered for his Broadcasting course. 3. Flexy Lexy and Buffy Bagwell have opened a French Restaraunt in Beautiful Downtown Lower Dudleyville. Flexy is doing the cooking and Buffy is the Maitre D'. Early reports are less than encouraging, with business not quite what they hoped it would be. When contacted, Flexy said his investigation indicated that a French Restaurant should do well there since there wasn't another for 250 miles around. 4. Douchebag Doophus Page is working as a doorman/hawker at The Pink Pussycat Ballet Emporium in Las Vegas. When asked if he felt that the job was demeaning, he replied that it was only temporary, that he was on the waiting list for a job as Junior Mop Man, at the Las Vegas Sewer Company. 5. $oldberg is back in the hospital recuperating from his latest mishap. While going over the list of victims on his unbeaten streak, he slipped on his ego and ripped a severe gash in his posterior. He required 2,678 stitches, one for each of his wins during "The Streak." I asked him about the possibility of his joining The WWF. He said that he was available and only asking for a guaranteed contact of $3,000,000. He has been watching the sky outside his hospital window for the donkeys that Emperor McMahon said would fly before he gets that amount. 6. Big Poppa Pump has taken a job as New Product Tester with Merck Pharmaceuticals. This will allow him to be paid and at the same reduce his "Vitamin" bill. He is trying to get his brother, The Dog Breath Gremlin, a job there as Alpo Taster. The German Shepherd currently holding the job has threatened to quit if he is hired. 7. JJ has joined the road ensemble of The Beautiful Downtown Lower Dudleyville Players. He is playing Third Paper Mache Guitar and is expected to debut in the next couple of weeks in their lavish production of Lil Abner, opening in Broken Elbow, AK. And they say there's no life after wrestling!
