The injury happened early in the match and Tazz battled through it. - Shane McMahon suffered a black eye in his bout with Vince. - Undertaker needed six staples to close a cut on top of his head after wrestling Triple H. `Taker had sixteen staples removed from his head the day before Mania. - Side note for RAW: Shane McMahon will not be in the arena. He will host the WWF New York party. The Rock to become new World champion **Kane and Terry Funk along with Steve Strong (Di Salvo), Essa Rios, Gangrel and Taka Michinoku come in next week for IWA in Puerto Rico. **AT&T Broadband cable in Jacksonville made changes to their PPV channel lineup over the weekend, and the result was that many customers weren't able to order Wrestlemania. There were also problems in Baltimore with those without Digital cable. They had trouble picking up WrestleMania due to upgrades to TCI Communication's Baltimore systems. Customors have mentioned that this was the second time in three years of having trouble with Mania. Certain parts on Minnesota also had problems with Mania as well due to digital cable. (NYSE: WWF) announced today that last night's WrestleMania(R) X-Seven is the highest grossing live event in World Wrestling Federation history. In addition, the event shattered Reliant Park (formerly the Astrodome) live attendance and box office records. WWFE officials announced an attendance record for Reliant Park of 67,925, resulting in gross receipts of $3.5 million. All told, the company sold more than 100,000 tickets to WrestleMania X-Seven and its three-day fan festival, WWF AXXESS, which preceded the event. The fan fest was held at Reliant Hall. "The World Wrestling Federation thanks the city of Houston and its citizens for their support and hospitality," said Stuart Snyder, President and COO of World Wrestling Federation Entertainment. "Most of all, we thank our fans who came from all around the world and had an amazing time at our WWF AXXESS fan festival and WrestleMania X- Seven. Both events were a resounding success. The continued loyalty of our fans is tremendous and deeply appreciated." The record setting WrestleMania X-Seven capped off an exciting several days for the company. On Friday, March 23, 2001, WWFE announced the purchase of the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) brand from Turner Broadcasting Systems (TBS), a division of AOL Time Warner. On Monday, March 26, 2001, the first effort at developing a story line across the two sports entertainment brands garnered a combined rating of 7.7, attracting more than 6.2 million viewers, a further demonstration of the ratings power of World Wrestling Federation Entertainment programming. On Thursday, March 29, 2001, WWF SMACKDOWN! on UPN delivered a ratings boost of 14 percent from the previous week. ______________________________________________________________________ [Column] WrestleMania Screw Jobs and Thoughts - by Ted Cabata Ok here are just some random thoughts I had from Wrestlemania, there were so many great moments that could be used as screw jobs, but to find out which is the screw job of the week you will just have to wait until later this week. For now though enjoy these thoughts... --WTF!?! Opening Match? I expected so much more from this! Damn, Wrestlemania is starting off with a screwjob already. I guess Regal and Jericho aren't that high on the importance list. --It's 3 against 1! Are they trying to make Test seem tougher then he is? Well I guess this is a screw job, cuz Eddie is the European Champ..at least one of my predictions is coming right. --Damnit! I didn't even have time to piss! WWF is screwing me over! (Chyna Vs Ivory) --How many walls, windows, and stage things are going to broken here? Kane wins? WTF is that? Where's Crash or Kaintei? --Linda is walking!!! YESSSSSSSSSS!!! HOLY SHIT!!! Van terminator!!! I think Shane just screwed RVD out of ever getting a job in the WWF!!! This rules! Go Shane! --OH MY GOD! Rhino is insane! And hey paul has stopped saying "the last man to hold the ECW title" Hey can a third party hold the ladder up like this? Oh who cares Rhino just made E& C the champs again...woohoo!!! --This was pointless, at least Bobby Hennan is back though. --Ouch! Nice "Holy shit" chant!
