There are said to have been some complaints between wrestlers who weren't scheduled to participate in some form at the big show. What bothered many of the superstars was the fact that many wrestlers who are not on the current roster are being brought in for the show. Billy Gunn, K-Kwik, Crash Holly, Haku and Kaientai will all most likely have something to do with the Hardcore Title match. ______________________________________________________________________ [News from The WWF] **WrestleMania.com is report that Jim Cornette will take part in tomorrow's Gimmick Battle Royal at WrestleMania. Cornette will commentate/or manage the battle royal. It's been said that Heenan and Gene Okerland will be involved as well. **Gillberg (Duane Gill) has been officially added to the Gimmick Battle Royal. **The 24 WCW wrestlers whose contracts were purchased by the WWF received written notification on Wednesday and were asked to fill out a form. **The WWF has also purchased Alan Funk's aka Kwee Wee's contract. He was not on the original list of wrestlers, but was added during the week. **The belief is that Dave "Fit" Finlay and Arn Anderson will be kept as backstage agents for the new WCW. **Dean Malenko & Perry Saturn vs. Grandmaster Sexay & Steve Blackman has been added to the already packed WrestleMania card. **In a WWF.com poll asking which match fans are most looking foward to seeing at tomorrow's Wrestlemania PPV, the gimmick battle royal is slightly edging out the Austin/Rock main event, which comes as quite a surprise. **For the week of March 19-25, each hour of WWF Raw is War (Raw and Warzone) finished as the no. 1 and no. 2 rated programs on cable for the week. Nickelodeon programs finished no. 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13 on the top 15 list. The other four top 15 spots were held by movies on TBS. Raw was seen in 3.39 million homes and Warzone was seen in 3.96 million homes. **Houston officials are making plans to avoid potential traffic and parking problems by supplying 400 buses to take fans to and from shuttle lots. "The event's going to attract more people and be a bigger draw than any event ever held, bigger crowds than any record at the Astrodome," Shea Guinn, Reliant Park president, said. (Cred: wcw.com) __________________ [In other news...] **Vince Russo has announced that he will not be granting interviews to anyone because he is going to reserve his commentary for his authorized website. **The Detroit Free Press reports that the XFL is looking at expanding to Tiger Stadium for the second season. Officials of the XFL, the fledgling football league founded by wrestling magnate Vince McMahon, visited Tiger Stadium and the major's office Thursday as part of a tour of potential expansion cities. "It's a grand old lady with a few wrinkles, but nothing that can't be easily repaired with cosmetics," XFL president Basil DeVito said of Tiger Stadium. "It's the right size, and the city has a desire to keep Tiger Stadium active. Maybe we can be the catalyst for that." The plan is part of a continuing stream of mixed signals about the chances of the XFL being around next year. "Our business plan called for an average of 20,000 tickets per game," DeVito said. "We're averaging 25,000 right now, so we're going to outperform. There's no doubt we have to improve our ratings on NBC, but we also know we created this business plan before we had even spoken with NBC." I say stone cold will win. because the rock ain't a guy that can hold the title forever. he a wrestler that get's people over. and how will he win it. stone cold stunner. because vince mcmahon is predictable. and always repeats everything tell he sees it dn't bring him ratings. joel ----------- I'm saying that The Rock will turn heel because I'm sick of him and he needs to change. I hope he keeps the title because he just won it. Kevin ----------- You know what, I just want this pay per view to be good because the last WrestleMania sucked ass! Julia ----------- I think we'll see a good match, no matter what happens. Unfortunately, I believe it will all come down to Vince McMahon. Either The Rock or Steve Austin will join him, probably with Debra by their side. Vince needs to beef up his side if all roads lead to WCW vs WWF. My feeling is that Austin will win the title with help from Debra, leading to a post match celebration that involves Vince and Austin giving each other a congratulatory hug. Good luck turning Austin heel, Mr. McMahon. Derrick of LatestWrestlingNews.com ----------- Because of the fact that Debra was told that she could not go to the ring with The Rock, i believe that Debra will come down to the ring with Stone Cold Steve Austin, and end up turning on him at the end of the match. Of couse, this will not be the classic Benoit/Angle wrestling match that we are going to see earlier in the night, but it will be a good 20 minutes worth of intense action. Expect a lot of Austin-esque brawling & Rock slaps, and hopefully a so inventive, and maybe even actual wrestling spots. I see the fans siding with Austin (seeing as it is his home state), but they will be shocked at the end of the match when he cuts a heel promo, telling the fans that he did it all by himself, how he never wanted the fans help, and he never did need it and doesn't now. Darcy ----------- How long does it take to make a movie? Is there a finish to this match that will please everyone? Is there a finish to this match that will please ANYONE? I'm going with The Rock for the simple fact that I hate when titles, especially the Heavyweight title. (or the WWF title as they call it) The Rock just took it from Angle and passing it to Austin so quickly drops Rockys status just a little. The Rock has somewhat of a stigma for short title reigns, and I think Austin has to suffer and work a little harder (in the storyline) before he gets his title back to make it that much sweeter for his fans. I can hear JR now "AUSTIN, AUSTIN IS BACK AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN, STONE COLD IS WWF CHAMPION!!" ....But it won't be at X7. BBBoris of BehindTheSquaredCircle.com ----------- My prediction (and maybe some other people share the same...maybe not) Debra screws Stone Cold out of the WWF Title. I mean think about it, the rivalry between these two, the ratings, The Rock (being the pretty boy he is) stealing stone cold's wife! The fans would hate The Rock! And in my humble opinion (that or I'm a major heel mark) the Rock is one of the best heels of all time. It ticks me off just thinking about that cocky bastard walking down to the ring with Austin's wife in his corner, and the WWF Championship around his waist. I'd be dying to watch WWF just to see Stone Cold get his revenge. I'd be dying to see The Rock get his face rearranged by the Texas Rattlesnake. I'd be buying into the McMahon empire, and so would millions of other fans. Let's face it, it's all about making money, and what better way to get people to buy the next PPV, and the PPV after that then to have such controversy on the minds of wrestling fans everywhere. Whether this prediction is true or not this wrestlemania is sure to hold some huge suprises that will have fans everywhere 'marking out' at least a few times during the show. Rock, Austin, Rock, Austin, Pepsi, Coke, Oh never mind. I just can't see the Rock doing a clean job to Austin again. I think we're going to see Austin win on some sort of screw job ending, probably involving Debra, and dare I say it: Austin turning heel. Then with Rock leaving for his movie, he can play the "revenge" angle when he gets back. I know, it's kind of an old premise, but it's the best I can come up with. ______________________________________________________________________ [WMX7 Column] Ted Cabata's WM Predictions WrestleMania Thoughts Well it is finally here, the biggest show of the year and I am so looking forward to it. I think this might be one of the greatest WrestleMania's in history so without further yapping I'll tell you why. MAIN EVENT Rock Vs Steve Austin For the first time in WM history, the main event is being repeated. Will we see the same ending or will it be Rock's turn to be on top. I can't see the WWF putting the belt on Rock and taking it in a month, although they did it with him and Triple H last May. Rock is 0-4 against Austin on PPV. I think it's time for a change. I think Triple H gets revenge on Austin for the Royal Rumble and costs him the WWF title match and they continue to feud over the summer, while the WWF champion films his new movie. I would very much like to pick Austin over Rock but sadly I have to actually pick the Rock in this one =( WINNER: The Rock Street Fight Vince Vs Shane w/Mick Foley as ref I think this might be the biggest match of the night. Especially with the WCW VS WWF angle brewing. Will Mick Foley put Shane and the WCW over the WWF even if it means putting Vince over? There are so many angles to chose from here, but I can't not pick Shane, I'm too much of a mark. WINNER: Shane-o-Mac IC Title match Chris Jericho Vs William Regal I love Jericho as much as everyone, but I think regal lost the European Title because of injury. To make up for the fact that he had to drop the belt to Test I say Regal goes over here WINNER: William Regal European Title Match Test Vs Eddie Guerrero Yawn! One of two matches I don't care about. But to get to the point I say Eddie goes over. WINNER: Eddie Guerrero Women's Title Match:This would be match 2 that I don't care about. Ivory has had the belt long enough and Chyna is done promoting her stupid book. WINNER: Chyna Triple H Vs Undertaker This is one of those matches that I can't decide on. Triple H is the man because he helps me write screw job columns. But how many times can make the Taker lose on PPV? I say Triple H got to beat Austin in February so this time I think he does the job. WINNER: Undertaker HARDCORE Title Match: Raven Vs Big Show Vs Kane My prediction is this mess is total mayhem! I wouldn't be surprised to see a fourth wrestler enter the match thanks to the 24-7 rule. I say Kane and Show pound each other and Raven either retains or loses it to a 4th person. But since I can't name anyone I'll go with the obvious pick WINNER: Raven APA and Tazz Vs RTC I really like this match and I'm happy Tazz is back on PPV and back in story lines but I have a bad feeling about how this match is going to end. I think Val Venis and one of the other RTC members will start arguing with themselves, and in the chaos Steven will interfere helping the RTC get the win but at the same time it will be the beginning of the end of Val Venis as an RTC member. WINNER: Right To Censor Chris Benoit Vs Kurt Angle Who will be the one to tap out first? I would so love to see Benoit go over here, and get a cahnce to Main Event a PPv again, but right now I see him as a newly created face who is going to be stuck in the middle like Chris Jericho. After dropping the belt last month Angle has to pick up a victory to stay on top or close to it. WINNER: Kurt Angle TLC II Hardys VS E&C VS Dudleyz We know what to expect here we've seen it enough..i say Dudleyz keep their titles but Jerry Lynn helps out the Hardyz in some way.
