However, I'd be quite happy to know what he'll be doing for Mania as right now, it seems cloudy. I hope to God he won't be a special guest ref but all signs are pointing in that direction. Oh well. - naidO nWN Founder - http://www.geocities.com/naidosnews ______________________________________________________________________ [TOP NEWS STORY] The proposed sale of WCW to Fusient is either dead or on life support, according to many Internet sites. Apparently, both sides (Time Warner and Fusient) are far apart from agreement on anything. Negotiations continue between both companies but no agreement has been made. It should be noted that while many are saying the sale is "dead," there has not been an official announcement from either party saying so. If the sell were to fall through, WCW's future after March 26 is a huge question mark. The company has no events after this date scheduled. The decision would be up to Time Warner execs whether to continue day-to-day operations or temporarily shut down. The decision will most certainly have to be made very soon, as WCW would have to book arenas for shows. It is also very possible that we see the last WCW pay-per-view this weekend and the last Nitro on March 26. ______________________________________________________________________ [News from The WWF] **According to a report on the Power Pro Wrestling website, former WWF announcer Jerry "The King" Lawler will return to the Power Pro Wrestling TV show this Saturday. The show airs on Saturday morning in Memphis on TV5 at 11:00 am. Since this is a WWF developmental territory, it is uncertain as to whether or not Lawler had to clear his appearance with the WWF. **WWF.com has an 8-page article on the Mean Street Posse. Look for everything to come to a head very soon, possibly today or early next week. The general belief is that the sale has fallen through and a new buyer will have to be found or the company will temporarily be shut down. Stay tuned. **Lance Storm has updated his commentary over at StormWresting.com. The former commish's match with Kanyon might very well steal the show Sunday night. The Cat's main lady, Ms. Jones, and super freak Midajah will be doing more than just returning to storylines in the near future -- they will play major roles in WCW's top storylines. No giveaways here, folks, but I've been told the revelation of Midajah's attacker will be a MAJOR doozy. - Speaking of the goddesses of WCW, WCW.com would like to officially welcome Stacy (and her legs) back to WCW programming. As always, WCW Live! was there to get the skinny on her return. - At Thunder, Mike Tenay mentioned Hugh Morrus and Konnan's time with the Dungeon of Doom in 1997. Ah, the memories. I spoke with Morrus earlier this week, and he expressed his excitement about his reunion with K-Dawg -- and their match against Team Canada at WCW Greed. The duo has impressed WCW officials with their cohesion; they just might become integral players in the tag team division. - When will the new owners show up? Good question. According to my sources, their first appearance could translate into an entirely new direction for our fair promotion. - Expect more Sugar Shane-type entrances for WCW wrestlers. WCW's creative team has been focusing on adding fresh music, effects and choreographed action to live WCW events. - WCW.com is working on a new style of photo gallery, consisting of both exciting pictures and the stories behind the still frames. Your favorite wrestling Web site will also be debuting an homage to Scott Steiner in a matter of days. - WCW.com welcomes Jason Jett to WCW's locker room. The former ECW star has some of the most innovative moves in the business; he impressed officials with his renewed dedication to in-ring conditioning. - Here's a "e-toast" to Lex Luger, for showing his dedication to elevating young talent and keeping the business strong. Enough said. - Tons of top-notch talent continue to contact WCW about work opportunities. With so much talent available -- and WCW open to any and all possibilities -- you just never know who's going to show up Sunday night... Ventura refused to comment on McMahon's statements. It was a pretty big story in the Minneapolis media today. **Women of Wrestling (WOW) sent out an interesting press release today, where they said that they have finished their first "season" of new shows. "In early January, we told you about an agreement that we had reached to sell WCW and its related assets. At that time, we said that we would apprise you of any changes to the way WCW operates. Effective Tuesday, March 27, WCW programming will begin a period of hiatus. During this hiatus, WCW will review its programming plans and determine the course of future WCW-branded entertainment events. On Wednesday, March 28, please plan to attend an all-staff meeting at 10 a.m. at the Power Plant, at which we will share with you further information regarding WCW plans.
