Jasmin, who has been working on the independent scene while continuing to train as a wrestler, said "I am really excited about the project and cannot wait to act in a mainstream Hollywood film. I loved Big Momma's House and always wanted to do a silver screen film. This would be a second dream come true. Wrestling was the first." It was real funny. The Rock came out acting like it was his cue to give out the award and Chris played on like The Rock didn't know what was going on and told The Rock to go backstage to help clean. So they went back and forth and they handed out the award together. I didn't see any sites advertising that The Rock would be there tonight. **This appears to be how Wrestlemania is stacking up, although nothing at this point is official except the main event - Rock vs. Austin for the WWF title - Undertaker vs. HHH - Hardys vs. Dudleys vs. E&C for the tag titles in a tables, ladders and chairs match - Ivory vs. Chyna for the womens title I don't know if anything else is official but I'd presume Crash & Molly Holly vs. Raven & Tori. There is nothing definite regarding Benoit, Kane, Jericho, Angle, etc. They have talked about various matches involving those people. **Triple H did a chat with USA Today. It's one of the most grounded and sensible mainstream articles written about the XFL to day. It states: "The sleek and refined production that has become the signature of the WWF is also apparent in the XFL. They have abandoned the quarterback's-view camera angle, which admittedly was a bit dizzying at times during Week 1, but still has its place. Innovations in TV production are one thing the XFL can deliver, and should boast about. With cameras on the field and microphones on the coaches and players, the league offers something unique. But instead of touting these positive aspects of the league that clearly have their roots in the WWF, officials are promoting the one-dimensional gimmicks that even wrestling fans would probably stay away from." (Cred: pwtorch) ______________________________________________________________________ [Article] Phil Mushnick at Vince's throat again BOB Wright, the president of NBC who was so pleased to have Vince McMahon become NBC's 50-50 XFL partner, need not take my word for it. It was all on national TV, last week, in primetime. It's on tape. Monday on his WWF cable show on TNN - a network owned by CBS/Viacom, another TV entity that's eager to do business with McMahon - McMahon stood in the center of the ring at the sold-out MCI Center in Landover, Md. In the house were roughly 22,000 people, almost all of them children, teens and young adults. And most of them male. One of his full-breasted female performers, who goes by the name Trish Stratus, stood in front of McMahon. He then began to scream at her as if he'd gone berserk. He began to verbally degrade and humiliate her, hollering that she needed even more punishment. And this, apparently, was what the young males in the audience had been waiting for because they stopped giving the finger to the TV cameras (one of the WWF's, and now the XFL's, encouraged images) and exploded in delight. McMahon's verbal abuse held the promise of sexual and physical abuse. And McMahon rarely disappoints.
